I thought I would post this and if it is worthy maybe a sticky?
So many ask about drilling attys out so it's worth bringing up again.
Most of us can't stand attys that draw hard, so one solution is to drill the little air hole out (some do one, if it tightens up again, they do the other). I find that once I do this things are better for about a week but usually before things tighten up again, I kill the atty- Remember, I'm the Atty Killer!! Btw, I find that Joye attys are real nice to begin with but within a week or so they need drilling as they tend to tighten up really bad.
So Gil PM'd me and asked if I would drill some out for him and send them back. Of course I was willing to do this. While I was doing it, I took a few pictures - sorry a couple are blurry.
1. Picture of package that Gil sent me- lucky for me, none of the stamps were post marked so I was able to use the same package without buying new stamps to send them back to him. If the PO keeps doing this, they really will go under.
2. I found a 1/32 drill bit but it was too small to be place in my drill- my drill wouldn't tighten down on it- no problem...I cut one of those blue latex gloves and wrapped it, then it worked:
3. You need something to wrap around the atty in a vice, so you don't scratch it. I've used tape but for this time, I just used part of that same latex glove. Here you see the little air hole that comes standard in the atty:
4. You don't want to push hard in that hole and drill too deep into the atty...the trick here is to just open that hole up bigger. Start with the tip of the bit on the hole and then start your drill. Trying to aim a spinning drill wont' work. I let my drill do the work- gravity works pretty good...Zing, and it's done! In this last picture you can see where the hole is enlarged (sorry for this one being blurry):
There you have it- that's about it- blow out the atty and rinse if necessary- you want to get any particles out as you don't want these inside the atty when you
vape.
