Thanks for the tip community. One hole drilled to 1/16th helps the draw.
I been using LR 1.5 510 atty, and after 2 days the draws get tight. It is not that the juice is clogging my atty. The insulator or seal whatever the lil rubbery looking thing between the big air hole at bottom and thread seems to be expanding. I am thinking that my djarum black juice is destroying them or maybe I have run them dry a few times and made it expand. Do you think that drilling would help then? the thing basically covers the tiny holes on the thread. If I had a bit that small, i'd try it. I have about 6 tight attys so far and 2 more soon.
i just pulled a 306 out of the trash that was burnt tasting and drilled out both holes with a 1/16 bit. now the burnt taste is gone. it tastes great but i think both holes at 1/16 is to much air. so i m off to get smaller bits.
i wonder if the atty starts to taste bad because its not getting enough juice from the reservoir due to tight draw.
I look at a atomizer like its a carburetor it needs the right mix of fuel juice and air to run proper I cant stand a clogged atomizer

I'm a believer now! I had a 2.0 IKV 306 that kept getting tight on the draw after light use. I drilled that puppy out (both holes) today with a 1/16th drill bit. OMG, what an awesome improvement. I did it to all my other attys as well...![]()

AnimeGuy, this is the EXACT same problem I have been having. It seems to only happen when I use Fire & Ice, but I can't put it down either.
I drilled out Both holes, and what I found was this Rubbery ring inside, that's what was blocking my air holes, not knowing what it was, I tried drilling through it, which proved to be difficult. Was very scared of drilling through something that wasn't supposed to have a hole in it lol. Only 2 atty's left & both have this problem.
Long story short, drilling works to an extent, opens air flow (which is great) but that rubber band is very stubborn.
Thanks for the tip guys (&gals) ~Lumiis
i dont know what kind of atty your drilling out but i have found that its best on an atty going out not good on new attys i have messed a few up
I have found you can move the insulator out of the way with a wooden tooth pick when this happens.I have run into a few times one should be careful drilling out the atomizer you only want to open the hole .I have never ruined a atty but I do it on a drill press gives you a bit more controlIt's a Joye 510, almost a month old, every time I would take a toot, all I got was burnt, there was absolutely no draw to it.
I wouldn't have drilled unless there wasn't any alternative, trust me, used PGA, boiled & dry burned.
It wasn't a problem of gunk build-up, it was the rubber grommet Animeguy had run into.

Interesting....that makes sense in a way. I know that a favorite juice of mine, Better Butter Rum by Alien Visions E-Juice, caused the o-ring in the bottle cap to swell...so it's possible it could have that effect on an insulator ring as well. Nice catch, Animeguy!![]()
