Recently purchased an Aerotank and although I love the tank, I'm not a fan of the steel drip tip. It's my first experience using one and I find the steel taste ( in my head ?? ) hampers the juice flavour.

The local B&M has a few glass / ceramic tips that I'm thinking about buying.

But before I pull the trigger I need some input from those that use glass drip tips

And what about aluminum tips. Same as steel ?

Any input , be it good or bad, is muchly appreciated.

There's the chromeplated brass stuff - that's the cheapest in metal manufacturing;
the aluminium - doesnt seem very popular
stainless steel - theres surgical grade steel, cutlery grade steel, I hear about 301? grade? maybe thats the same as cutlery grade.
there's lots of different plastics - the black delrin seems to be a kind of standard on the older disposables
and theres stone/ceramic/glass

I can't take the chrome; burns my lips after a while - the heat doesn't help either.

I actually use the plastic cartomizer tip shell and cut it and press onto my own steel tips at the moment;

Ultimate I'd say is the glass or good quality ceramic for flavor/health; steel would be the durable tip

I use stainless steel, pyrex, plastic, and TruStone tips. I seem more attracted to the larger tips.

The inexpensive plastic Knucklehead drip tips are among my most comfortable tips. I like being able to have them tilt towards my mouth.

Cherry Vape plastic tips are beautiful, colorful, and have a comfortable shape. However, they seem rather fragile from drops. I've had two break off at the stem and get stuck in the juice attachment. I probably won't buy any more of these.

Material-wise the steel is the least comfortable should it touch my teeth. They get dried residue from my lips and saliva and need to be frequently cleaned. However, they can come in many different and cool shapes. Some people claim to get a metalic taste from metal tips.

Glass is the most comfortable on my lips and mouth. Said to be more fragile if dropped, although I've never broken any of mine and I've dropped my mods plenty of times. Can be costly for the better ones, but they are aesthetically beautiful.

TruStone is similar to pyrex in my opinion as it feels similar to pyrex on the lips. Heavier and more durable than glass. Made from pulverized stone and acylic. Many of these are beautiful and costly as well.

Yes, its the red section. They have a center core of stainless steel for the air hole. These are premium tips available in different shapes, styles, and materials. Stainless steel, acrylic, TruStone, carbon fiber, and wood. Here's the website: Drip Tip Designz

Oh my gosh, I know where my vape budget is going to lie for a good while!

That's ingenius !!

Does the shell stay in place without the need for any adhesive ?

I did this to my first drip tip which was aluminum that I didn't care for. It stayed on pretty well. Once in a while a little condensation would build up and just wiped it off and was good to go.

I cut a small hole in the top and it looked like this:

You can see a tip there on the end on the left; the cartridge shell I cut it short then just press and work it on the metal tip of the protank so that the plastic deforms; some are tight and older ones get more loose with time.

No adhesive.
