Hello,

I'm working on some wooden mods and would like to add a nice drip well at the 510 connector. Any ideas of where I could get drip wells or are there any good ideas (that I haven't been able to find here on the boards) of a piece that I could use from a local hardware that would look nice in the finish?

Thanks for reading.

Good 'ol stainless steel finish washer from home 'deep. I like to, instead of having a big deep drip cup that would need an adapter for tanks, take a small'ish one and using a big cone grinding stone bit or step bit make the hole just big enough so the 510 connector can press fit. Then I take a block of wood with a hole drilled just big enough for the connector to fit through and press fit it in a vice. That way the highest edge of the finish washer is level with the connector. Then to make sure its nice and secure and straight in the box mod: with an old carto or atty in the connector, set the connector and drip cup with mighty putty (or other nontoxic epoxy) using a clamp making sure it's good and straight til it's dry. If done right it will result in good solid/leak free connector that has good airflow and where juice gets properly sucked back up into the atty.

So Jim, you end up with a tea saucer look, with the attie/carto being the tea cup, from your description. Is that right?
