OK, I am new to the vape thing and I have read lots of posts talking about dripping. I see all kinds of recommendations that you make a this or that out of something-or-other in order to drip.

I look at my atty and I can see the silver atomizer recessed in the casing. Can't I just drip from the bottle onto the atty without syringes or straws or any of that stuff.

I guess my juice is at an advantage in that it is a drip bottle like visine eye drops. I can drip right onto the silver part and seems like there are no problems.

I just want to be sure I am not missing something in this equation.

Thanks!

i dont drip but if you have a 510 and want to i strongly suggest getting a drip tip. i hear great things about them. i drip directly into the atty after i clean it just to get it moist but i think one problem you may run into is flooding the atty (semi easy to do when using a dropper) and getting juice in your mouth when you go to vape, other than that i cant really see an issue with it just seems like it would be easier with a syringe or a drip tip because then you don't have to remove the mouthpiece to drip

Well, as I understand it from reading here and youtube...you should drip no more then 3 drops on the bridge and that should get you 5-10 puffs. 10 puffs is approx 1 analog.

I am sure each person here has a differnt pattern. I was a mild analog smoker, I take a puff every now and then, I like the taste and the experience. I am sure heavy smokers puff a whole lot more then me.

I use a dropper bottle and a drip tip. The Cadillac Maserati of drip tips is the Super-T. Lots of vendors sell tips. A drip tip is really just a tube, but different shapes/sizes will be more comfortable to some than others. So yeah, you just drip directly onto the atomizer, either through the tip, or after removing the cartridge. Some people remove the bridge. Before I got my drip tip, I just used an empty cart as a mouthpiece.

It's not so much that you are missing something from the equation, it's more that you have added things to the equation that aren't there. All the talk about straws and syringes and fluval and stuff has nothing to do with dripping. In fact, dripping is done precisely to avoid messing with all that.

So yes, you can just drip right on that silver "bridge" that you see.
That is exactly what dripping is all about.

I drip 2 drops until the taste fades then I redrip - I don't have a drip tip I just use the empty cart because i like whistle tips :)
I also don't think 10 puffs = 1 cig as you need to vape roughly 3 times as much to get the same nic hit as from a cig. So if 10 puffs = 1 cig then 30 vapes should = 1 cig too :)
Personally I dont bother comparing - so many differences between the 2 methods it feels redundant.

I concur with the Captain. Two drops on the bridge of my eGo is about right. With 3 or more drops it can get a bit soggy down there and take a few puffs to evaporate enough of the juice to get a nice vapor visually (yet the flavor is still there).

Give it a try. You'll catch on quick.

how many puff do you get on that? and is that a regular atty or an LR atty? because i just got a riva(ego, tornado) and im really .... about frying attys and im try to figure out a good amount for saving attys

I find dripping is alot more easier and less hassle than the other methods of using carts and cartos that I have tried.
I put 2 drops right in there to start. I have never counted how many drags I get, never bothered me as to the amount. I find myself satisfied with dripping and the results I get.
Then when flavor dissipates, I will add 1 drop and keep on vaping.

Took me a few days of dripping to get the hang of figuring out when it was time to redrip.

You can use a cart with the filler removed and gut out whatever parts you can remove. thats what I did at first. Eventually got an inexpensive drip tip from Goodprophets and love it, just so much easier to drip it thru instead of pulling the cart off everytime.

Then my atty's performance started to dwindle and on a whim I removed the mesh and bridge after reading a thread that had a link to a youtube vid showing how to make your atty bridgeless. Now I got way better performance from the same atty and, imho, it is way easier to clean.
I use the dry burn only with a pt. No soaking, washing, etc. I use a drinking straw and blow air through it onto the coil as it dry burns to keep it safe. this also allows me to be able to see the coil as I dry burn it. That way i can tell when the entire coil glows, telling me most of the residue is burned off.

I came to the conclusion that attys and all the other items associated with vaping will all eventually have to be replaced so why fret over it.
I would say it is worth it to give it a shot and try out dripping.

Fair question.... and hard to answer.

It depends on my mood.

Using a standard atty and 24mg juice a couple drops can last a bit. Fifteen or twenty of my mild puffs probably, if not more. Using that strength of juice makes it work for me and I can savor the aromas. My burn times are probably about 3 seconds on average. I don't do a lot of deep inhaling, but rely as much on oral and nazal absorption. If you feel a burn or tingle in your mouth/nose, then you are feeling nicotine. It will enter your bloodstream just as readily that way as trying to max out your lung capacity taking megahits on the thing. Of course, if I want to feel it way down in my lungs, the eGo will provide. Somehow, I just feel the need for that less these days. Besides, the juice tastes better to me if I don't subject it to long burns.

Moreover, once upon a time I used to "snuff". Yes, the old fashioned way. A pinch of powdered tobacco on the back of the hand & SNORT! Without a doubt it is the most intense way of using tobacco that I have ever encountered and can provide a massive head rush! Your nasal cavities are quite efficient and fast in the absorbtion game. faster than oral, by far.

Now a caveat to this is that I have gunked up several attys and failed my initial attempts to clean them. They were pulling too easy and there was little or no vapor. The solution was to follow the video instructions for removing the bridge and dry burn. That atty is back in operation, mind you it IS sensitive to excessive wetness, but WILL deliver a massive and flavorful hit! So don't toss an atty that gets hot but doesn't vape right. One method or other will likely work. I understand your "atty anxiety".

DC2 - thanks as always; and everyone else too.

Oh my word! Spent the weekend dripping and dripping so rocks. I have been doing 3 drops on the brings and I get 15-20 good puffs. I am very happy.

I have been using an empty cart that came with the 510. I pop it off, drip, and puff away. Being the occasional puffer this is fine for me. I am sure I will get a drip tip sometime in the future to make it even easier. I can see using carts when driving or away but sitting at home on the computer drip is the way to go.
