Question that's probably here somewhere...but I all day vape. Thought it would be smarter to drop from 18 to 6 mg if I'm going to never let the vape leave my lips....problem is I feel crappy. Almost like I've had too much? I chain-vaped on 18 and seemed ok. There were the odd time I would have to put it down...but not for long. Now I feel like I've had it down more than in my hand? Does this even make sense? Could it just be the juice?

I did the same thing in the very beginning. I'm a newbie and haven't smoked in 61 days. I vape all day long so I had decided to lower the mg. So I went to 11mg then 6mg. It was horrible. I couldn't sleep, I felt achy all the time. So I went up to 18 and haven't had a problem since. I guess my body will tell me when it's time to go down. I will vape as much as I have to not to pick up a cigarette.

It could be the juice or it could be nicotine withdrawal even.

I just drop by adding in some zero nic to my juice for a minute and then going down one step. I started at 24, went to 18 and now on 12. Maybe if you still have some 18 mix the 2? Actually, Question - is this the same juice, same flavor, same vendor just lower nic or is it a whole new juice?

It's the same juice and same vendor. Just a 6. Maybe that's what I'll try....slow and steady. I've always been a more jump on it kinda girl...maybe it's a sign to slow it down...

I suffer from high blood pressure problems so I had to work on lowering my nic. But I had to do it real slow like 2 mg at a time. For example, I would vape 16 mg all the time, then I started doing half the time 16 mg and the other half the time 14 mg, then eventually just 14 mg all day for a good while. Then maybe after a month or two of that, started using 14 mg and 12 mg throughout the day, etc. Doing it that way I never noticed any difference and it made it so much easier. Once I got down to 10 mg it started getting difficult for me to enjoy 8 mg and the lower you go, the harder it gets. So I started using alcohol based flavors and rebuildable atomizers. Major help. RDA's produce more throat hit so I could lower my nic easier. I'm now on 8 mg and 6 mg and very happy to stay there. Maybe I will use 6 mg only eventually, but I don't see the need to go lower.

I've stepped down from 24mg to 6mg gradually over time, and plan to get to 0 nic very soon. For me, part of what has made it work is keeping some juice at a higher mg on hand for those 'OMG I NEED NIC' moments. So far the transition has been seamless, really, and I hope by the end of the year to be vaping very low nic or no nic juice. Having supplies on hand to DIY also helps, I can mix anything I need on a whim, but so far I haven't had to.

Anyway, good luck on the transition. Give it time, you can do it. I vaped only 24mg for a LONG time before I even made an attempt to step down. I think 12mg is perfect for most of us, and so far 6mg is doing the trick for me.

18 to 6 mg in your first month is far too much, too quick IMHO. Took me 1 1/2 yrs to go from 36 to 10 BUT I there was no major shock to my system.
36 to 30
30 to 24
24 to 18
18 to 15
15 to 12
12 to 10
10 to 8
8 to 6
6 to 4
4 to 2
A VERY long journey but also stress free and, most importantly, enjoyable.
Best of Luck.
Realize I had smoked 1 1/2 PAD very strong analogs for 44 yrs and I wanted this to work so badly.

Awesome, and you've been a strong contributing member of ECF for a while, now, too. Good for you. Can't wait until I'm vaping super low or no nic. Congrats on getting into the infantile digits, and please, get that squirrel some HELP!

You know I fretted over this too. My family and doctor were only happy for short time with me quiting now they keep asking me when I am going to 0 and quiting vaping. I was and still proud I maded it this far for over four months. But I did work myself from 24mg to 18 then 12 but I started getting the thoughts of smoking again so now I just stopped freting and have the 18 as my all day vape and my second strings of juices are 12 so when I feel I vaped to much I just switch over to the 12 and be done with trying to buck the system in going any lower for now.

LOLLLL Thank You. Actually I stopped vaping 4 weeks ago which was my goal but am still ever so passionate about the movement and what it could do for millions of smokers.
As for the squirrel...after he sobered up he entered rehab at the request of his Missus and is presently vaping 2 mg Peanut Butter Crunch with a dash of Strawberry :D

I was never a heavy smoker, about 10 cigs a day give or take a few, although I would have the occasional PAD days.

So when I started I went to 18 but after a couple drags my head was swimming. Stepped it down to 12 and would still get too much buzz after a mindless vape session while working, which is when I do most of my vapeing.
went down to 6 and am feeling very comfortable, I can still get my fix with a couple pulls, but not OD myself when chain vapeing. A Happy medium.

18 to 6 is a pretty big drop; I'm not surprised you're having withdrawal symptoms. Try this: 18 in the morning, 12 for most of the day and 6 just before bed. It worked for me. Now I'm at 12 all day except for the last hour or so before I turn in.

Love that idea!! Would really like to quit it all eventually. Getting over anxious. Quitting analogues (2PD) was sooooo easy with the ecig! I just figured why not...but I guess it's not that easy lol...slow and steady...thanks Everyone!! Helps :)

I use 24 and have only fluctuated down to 14-16 for a month or less
when I first started then back to my usual 24 where I've been for the last 3 years.
I have never understood why people feel like they "MUST GO DOWN" on their nicotine consumption.
Unless you believe all the bs about it being linked to "heart disease" and causing cancer etc. like the extremists do perhaps....?
Why are vapers in such a rush to go down to zero?
C.B.
