I seem to be getting REALLY dry hits on my Ody a lot more than I would like.

There are times when I open up the liquid control pretty much all the way and it still doesn't seem to saturate the wick.

Other times, it completely oversaturates and ends up making my Ody leak.

What am I doing wrong? TT_TT

Two things I can think of:

Is your coil wrapped really tight on the wick?

Is your wick pinched tightly in the slots in the ceramic?

Either of the above can potentially "choke" your wick and prevent juice from reaching the coil at a suitable rate. I wrapped one coil too tightly and had that problem, easy enough to fix by carefully unwrapping and re-wrapping the coil (partway or all of it, depending on how tight it is)

A piece of "buffer" wick also helps immensely. My current coil has an extra strand of wick inside the coil and I highly recommend trying it :)

agreed - wick choked too tightly over the edge can restrict flow - I sometimes tug it up just a bit after I screw on the grounding nut.

another question for ya though - is there any wire at all, like maybe from the twisted portion, that may be sticking out and making contact with the inside of the juice control/mouthpiece when it's screwed on top?

I had a couple builds that vaped great when I would puff directly on the tank (with no mouthpiece/JC) but then tasted like complete @$$ once I screwed the mouthpiece on, finally figured out some errant wire was making contact in the wrong place, causing a taste like burned socks.
