So...I've been rocking the Ody V1 at .6 ohm (using 32g x2 twisted kanthal) for months with GREAT results. I just got my Pene in the mail, cleaned it thoroughly and wound it just like my Ody. Nothing but dry, terrible hits. The mouthpiece cannot open wide enough to try and flood it, and it will not wick--keep in mind I'm using the same wick/wire as my Ody.

What is so different between the Ody and Pene?

My only guess is the smaller area inside makes the Pene more susceptible to less feeding, but I am at a loss.

Same basic wire/wick set-up, different atomisers.

Why does the Pene lack wicking power? This sucks--while awaiting the Ithaka I wanted to collect the most current and useable devices from Imeo.

Halp!

What size wick are you using? If it is 3.5mm wick I would remove 2-3 strands from the channels. If 3mm maybe try 1. Also are you using the SS tank or a clear Kir Fanis? I ask because with my favorite juice even though it is the same 60/40 as my other juice with either tank I get wicking issues. What I found when using the clear tank (even the V2 wider version) that I get a dry spot under the lip of the mouthpiece above the housing nut. I have found if I close and re-open the mouthpiece that area fills back up with juice and it vapes well for a while till I have to repeat. Now I don't have a micrometer to check the internal diameters of the 3 tanks I have (origional SS GG Tank, Origional Kir Fanis, and V2 Kir Fanis) and obviously I can't see that area with the SS window but closing and opening juice controll helps just like with the clear so I am assuming the same thing is happening. Also I have found with the penelope if I can get a tighter draw my juices are able to get down to the wick better but honestly I am finding I kinda like a loose draw so messing with the mouthpiece works best for me.

I'm using 3.5mm wick with the 2 strands removed (was my original fix months ago).

The Pene down not want to wick--same silica in both atties. Exact same set-up. To the "T". I just cannot figure out why one set-up is great in the Ody, but dry and burnt in the Penny. The only thing I can think of (while drinking wine) is the smaller cup creates a vacuum in the Penny. THE EXACT SAME COIL/BUILD.

Granted, the Penny is on a Poldiac, instead of the GGTS (Ody v1). I'm ...... I cannot make this work. I've made 4 coils, all similar to my GGTS/Ody combo and the Poldiac/Penny set-up sucks.

I've never met a GG product that did not perform well, but I am at a loss...

Maybe it is my imagination but it seems like Penelope's channels are ever so slightly smaller then Ody's which is why I said possibly try a 3rd or even 4th strand removed. I personally remove 2 strands from 3.5 and have the above issues. Now if I put it on my ggts and tighten the draw controll one of my 2 normal juices will wick. The other I have to fiddle with the mouthpiece constantly.

Sneaker, I will tell you what is happening to me. Every 15-20 coils, one of them just refuse to work. The issue to my opinion is the wrong coiling. Maybe its too tight, or too loose, or less rounds of the coil on the wick.

One day, I was on Vasilis and I made a new coil for Ody. 2 Greeks were there seeing me making the coil. After I made the coil I tired to vape and no smoke came from Ody while coil was working. Also a very bad taste. Greek friends told me that if something like this would have happened on a video of mine that would be a disaster lol

Its like when Microsoft did the first windows XP presentation and Bill saw a blue screen there lol

Well said my dear friend. I got to admit it happens very rarely for me.

Just went through the first tank (well, last night) with the new coil, and filled her up again. Seems like I get a vacuum right before it's empty. It is not leaking, and hasn't leaked at all today so far.

Thanks for the replies--I think this might be a case of a GG atty on a non-GG mod learning curve. I'm so used to my Ody on the GGTS that I forgot how easy I have it compared to a 510 connection without air control.
