Some vapor does leave an odor so I've heard. When I'm In a closed room with others I vape something fruity or sweet or coffee like. I've never heard a buzzing though. Is it louder than a Harley?

To offer a bit of a correction: some vapor has an odor that lasts only a second or two while the vapor is in the air. The vapor does not leave an odor like tobacco smoke. At least none of the liquids that I have used do. From my experience, the smell is really noticeable only if I blow it almost directly into someone's face. And I try my best to not do that. It could be considered rude. ;)

I posted the following in response to the Survey: Should "electronic cigarettes" be banned....

My smoking went from 2 packs per day to 1 pack per week, in the time it took to open the package, load some nicotine solution and take the first drag on my e-Cig. It has remained at that level (1 pk/wk) for 4 weeks now. That is about a 95% reduction in my exposure to all the crap in tobacco smoke, except for the nicotine.

My cough is gone and I can breath without hearing my lungs whistle for the first time in a decade (I'm 62 and started smoking when I was 18). I suspect that my heart rate and blood pressure are both lower, but haven't been to a doctor yet to get them checked. I think my sense of smell/taste are improving.
I sleep better and feel better when I'm awake.

I realized long ago that the smoking damage was finally catching up and starting to show, but couldn't quit. Cold turkey was misery, as was the nicotine patch (3 or 4 at a time), gum (also 2 or 3 pieces at a time, chewing & sucking till my jaw ached). Zyban sorta worked, but I still couldn't get below 1 pack a day, and eventually I got fed up with it, too. I decided to pass on hypnotism, acupuncture, laser therapy (no idea what that entails, but it sounds bogus), and most recently, Chantix.

My wife is quite happy. We can ride in the same vehicle without me having to hold my e-Cig out the window. We can sit in the same room watching tv with me vaping (NOT "smoking" - it's vaping not smoking - please know & understand the difference) and she will comment on how she can't believe I'm putting out such a cloud and she can't smell it - it doesn't stink!! And it doesn't hang in the air like tobacco smoke either, it dissipates very quickly even with the windows closed.

Please understand - the e-cig has an enormous potential for harm reduction. It separates the addictive but otherwise surprisingly innocuous and NON-carcinogenic nicotine from the truly obnoxious and harmful constituents of tobacco smoke.

So, NO! - the Electronic Cigarette should not be banned under *any* no-smoking law, be it local, state or federal. IT'S NOT SMOKING! It would be UNETHICAL to deny smokers (hell, non-smokers too, for that matter) the benefits of the electronic cigarette.

WOW, I could have written that. Same age, in the next two weeks, same symptoms, same start time, same consumption, same results except I'm more like 3 packs a week. I wish I could get past that need every once in a while for one of those analogs.

I know what you mean. I’ve read many messages in this forum that I could have written myself. It’s nice to know I’m not alone.

What nicotine level are you using? I was at 30 mg/ml (various flavors) for 2-3 weeks but with my first juice order I took it up to a combination of 48 mg/ml tobacco flavor and 60 mg/ml unflavored, alternating between them every 2-3 hours. FWIW, I haven’t had an analog in the last 3 days, commencing about a week after I went to the higher nicotine level. I don’t seem to miss them much, though I have caught myself contemplating the idea of smoking one on the front porch with a cup of coffee.

When you read some of the stuff "anti" people write, geez.

It isn't just e-cigs though. Some people said/say the same things about guns, SUVs, Global Warming, e-cigs, skin color, same sex marriage, fast food, liberals, conservatives, marijuana, football teams, alcoholic beverages, free speech, butter.......you name it.

There will always be a dedicated few who are bound and determined to make something illegal or socially unacceptable simply because they don't like it. Doesn't matter if they actually KNOW anything about the subject or item. Some people have strange reasons, bizarre logic, and (in most cases) an irrational fear of various things.

I just think of Dirty Harry's take on it: "opinions are like a**holes":p

That might be the answer, more nic. Most of the bottles I bought were 18 or 11 mg/ml. I've bought some 36 or 38, whatever totally wicked makes, but I have a tendency of going back to the JC with the lower nic.

Maybe I should try the higher nic and see if that changes my analog cravings, get rid of the desire to reach for an analog for awhile, then start cutting back on the nic. Worth a shot. Thanks for the info.
