How do you guys do it? I was skinny until I started vaping. I gained 50 lbs this past year. I've had to buy boxers every three months. I am now up to extra, extra chubby.
:blush::blush::blush::blush:

I eat what I want, whenever I want... It's probably genetics on my mother's side. After 7 kids she looks fantastic, though she would disagree. My dad? Not so much though he has lost a lot of weight since giving up sugar. Not a low carb diet... He just thinks table sugar is evil -- like some sort of "demon."

Actually, now that I mention it, I can only think of a handful of people in my extended family that would be considered overweight and I have a H U G E extended family. Over 70 first cousins on my mother's side alone.

So... genetics. Definitely genetics.

I am 6'5" and about 250 right now, and I still need to lose around 30 pounds.

I was on the low-carb a few years ago and it worked well for me, but not quite as well for my wife.
Now I'm on Weight Watchers, because the wife is on Weight Watchers, and she does all the cooking.
:)

Anyway, the point is that I freaking LOVE donuts, but haven't had one in at least two years.

I don't miss cigarettes anymore, or even think about them.
But I miss donuts, and I think about them every damn time I drive by a donut place.

And the same goes for hamburgers, candy bars, pizza, carne asada burritos, and lots of other things.
But yeah, cigarettes? No thanks. Not even remotely interested.

If you limit your sugar and carbohydrate intake you WILL lose weight. If you drink a lot of soda/pop/coke just switch to sugar free (coke zero is excellent) and you will see a difference!

Coming from someone who has never been "fat" my opinion probably isn't going to hold much weight (cue rimshot), but...

I've always understood it as "if you limit your calorie intake you will lose weight." Empty calories from soda doesn't help. I'm not sure diet soda helps either. I've seen far too many people "supersize" their order simply because they thought that since they weren't drinking their calories they could eat more. Basically diet sodas and artificial sweeteners skew our idea of what the calorie count of our food is. I'm sure synthetic sweeteners also impact the body's insulin response, but I don't have hard evidence on that theory.

I saw a picture of a dachshund some pages back. Don't know what the context was, but I hope it's not too late to post Rosa, my mom's dachshund:

I've never been on a diet per se, but since I eat whatever my wife cooks and she is on a diet, I suppose you could say I am too. :)

The only "food" I could probably do with less of is soda. I love my soda. You'll have to pry it from my cold, dead hands! Even then, I'm already limiting myself. I'm drinking more water since I started vaping, so naturally I drink less soda.

Watch Supersize Me and Fathead. In that order.
