The following speakers are particularily telling. Greg Connelly actually states that the death of one child from nicotine poisoning is one too many and that to downplay that is bad. Let's not mention that the death was actually from an NRT product - not even
tobacco - and even if it had been from tobacco, that one death apparently outweighs the millions dying from smoking because they don't know the truth about smokeless products.
And even after hearing Elaine's point about why we are talking about nicotine when people are dying from SMOKE, the committee continues to dwell almost exclusively on nicotine dependence rather than smoking cessation. They also focus on addressing low risks of danger to non-smokers and don't even mention the positive impact on smokers.
