This will be an out of the box review and a request for some help from you guys who've used these products. I started vaping about 7 weeks ago on kr808 batteries and accompanying single coil cartos.

Out of the box- Very stylish design to the thing. Felt good in my hand. Nice size. Packaging was nice.

The unit itself- The battery lasted all day yesterday and is still going this morning with no re-charge. I love that. It also seems to produce hit after hit of vapor clouds and I also love this. I have noticed no power drop off or weaker hits.

Atomizer/cartridge combo- I went ahead and like another user suggested, blew out the atty to start with, then primed it with about 3 drops of juice. I then installed a pre-filled cartridge on it. It produced a ton of vapor, but it tasted burnt. Like burned plastic. I went ahead and tried the procedure again but still the burnt taste. I then put a new cartridge on it and again it tasted burnt. I am wondering if I am doing something wrong here?

Dripping- I was quite anxious to try dripping out since I have heard so much about it here. I had a third atomizer which I installed on the unit. I dropped in 3 drops here, put on a drip tip and went to town. I got about 5 good hits on it and then no vapor?? It then began to also taste burnt. I repeated. Another 5 good hits and then a burnt taste. Am I just missing some key step in atomizer preparation??

Fluxomizers- I initially wanted a Sapphire but they were out of stock. So, I ordered a pack of 2.4-2.6 ohm fluxomizers. I took the first one out and tried to follow the instructions. I didn't realize there was a pilot hole on the rubber tubing so I tried forcing the syringe into the rubber itself I guess and promptly cracked the first one. I chalk this up to the learning curve factor. I did finally figure out the pilot hole though and had no problem whatever of filling two fluxomizers with different flavors. I vaped both pretty heavily for about 10-15 minutes and here again there was some burnt plastic taste. I examined the carto and noticed that on the inside wall there was melted plastic?? Again, I'm thinking I must be doing something wrong here? This happened to both fluxomizers I tried. I got a tremendous amount of vapor from the fluxomizer, but it burned so quickly on me. Can anyone help here?

808 to 510 adapter- I bought one of these with my starter kit and since the other two options weren't working, I decided to try this out. I put the adapter on, installed a regular single coil carto and vaped for the rest of the night without incident. It's producing a good amount of vapor this way.

Final thoughts- I am interested in vaping something other than single coil cartos. Something I can fill with about 1.5-2.0 ml of juice. It would be nice if I could see the juice level so I know where the level is. The fluxomizer doesn't appear to work well for this. Is the Sapphire tank any better? I like the power unit of the e-power but seem to not be able to use it in the variety of ways I had hoped. Does anyone have any tips or suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

I have had an e-power for several weeks and four Sapphires in the mail right now. I'll report back when they come in. I normally use and 808 adapter and use standard cartomizers or the Rev 4 CE2's. Both work great although the CE2's do leak a bit. All my 510 equipment works well too, but I will say that dual coil carto's tend to make the switch quite warm so I don't use them for long periods.

fluxomizers take some messing around with to get them to work well. another issue is the tubes cracking, so a lot of people prefer the metal ones. they are a little harder to clean, but a more solid design if you put them in your pocket. the sapphires and visions have been getting good feedback and might be worth a try but a lot of these products come down to personal taste and how much you feel like messing with them

CE2's, Fluxomizers, Sapphires, etc. all seem to have some issues or require at least a slight bit of modding to "just work." I suggest dual coil cartomizers with clear bodies or if you want to really just make sure everything is going to be fine--just get dual coil cartomizers with steel bodies (regular). These will hold at least 2ml of liquid, not going to melt, able to be cleaned and sometimes you just have to top them off by feel. The worst that could happen is you overfill and need to give them a few toots to get back to normal.

thats a pretty broad statement to make based on 10 peoples experiences. I hioe you do realize that Sapphires have the least issues out of all the products out on the market today and i stand behind that statement.

I do realize issues where abound with the tubes and plugs in the ce2 but when you start painting that brush with the sapphire I take that personally. A few people do not constitute what the whole product is.

The sapphire just work, if a few have issues they know how that can be handled by contacting us.

***Jbank, ill have danno answer your ? because he is more in contact with the epower people then I am and can answer you fully concerning the epower.

Agh--sorry I was going way too fast and didn't realize this was in the GotVapes thread. Didn't mean to lump Sapphires in with any faulty product and will absolutely mention that I have NOT tried Sapphires myself and really know nothing about them in any way. Have always heard great things about GotVapes. I blame the post about "32 people viewed this and no response?!" for my hasty and wrong-headed attempt to just give a solution. Edited my original post and rock on all!

I went ahead an ordered a sapphire today. Badkolo I thank you for taking the time to pass this onto whomever can help. I just want it to work in a reasonable way. If the sapphire works well, this won't really be an issue. I followed the directions on the fluxomizers and I just don't get why they melted??

I'm looking forward to trying the 3Ω version at 3.7v. The 2.3Ω's I have are a little hot for my tastes.

"latest Sapphire incarnations"? Have they been modified somehow?

No issues, all good and welcome to the family, The latest Sapphire incarnations are headed are way in pretty sapphire boxes.

3.0ohm for HV vapors are incoming as well.

Hi jbank...on most if not all atty /cart combos you always have to deal with juice flow to the atty. Sometimes taking a primer puff - where you take a couple of drags from your PV without pressing the power button - can help reticent juice, flow to the atty's wicking and heating element and avoid the burnt taste. Check out our PumpCarts product page and view the video review there which is pretty thorough. Also visit our Gotvapes YouTube thread for more excellent videos Chris (badkolo) did on the PumpCart. The PumpCart is an excellent solution for atty/cart users.

With that said my favorite vape are the all-in-one units - right now for me that is the FLüXomizer cartomizers and the Sapphires. With a FLüXomizer many of the burnt taste problems can be remedied with a very simple adjust before you begin vaping them. Simply lift the plastic fill ring slightly where the wick enters the cup. This alleviates any factory tamping down on to the wick which can cause juice constriction of the wick in the coil area.

Hope this helps...

HEY jbankston Just wanted to weigh in on whats going on. The epower is a solid device so no worries there. The only issue i've ever had with the two I have, is when the button is warmed up like from having my finger on it for a long time or some juice gets on it, it tends to be a little sticky. It won't come back out right away. That's the only problem I've ever had with an epower. They are great. I do use ego's most of the time.

The fluxomizers do take some attention to get perfect. What I do is pull that fill plug with the filling holes out, and then put in upside down. The upside down plug sits on top of the cup exposing the slits which will still seal the cup, but allows juice to flow better. I use a dental pick to pull it out. When these work man oh man do they ever work. When you get a burnt taste that just means not enough juice is getting to the heating coil.

Atomizers- these don't work for me with the carts. They don't wick well enough and you get that "burnt plastic taste" With dripping a few puffs is all you will get when you drip a few drops on the atty. That is how that works. 3 puffs 3 drops and repeat. That's why I don't like dripping. Also with a brand new atty you may need to put more like 6 or more drops on it initially to get it wet enough.

The saphire will be a good fit for you I think. They don't give the same vapor as the fluxo's but they do work with less fuss than other options.

My main carto now is the vision 2.0 They are great! One fill lasts all day. I do pull the fill plug up a little to get the juice flowing the way I like, but they just go and go and go. I would try a vision next time you buy supplies.

The issues you are having are normal. It just takes a few little tweeks to get everything ironed out.

Thanks everyone. When I have some time over the weekend, I'm going to try and play again with the fluxos I have left to see if I can't get them to work right. Meanwhile, I have a sapphire on order. Do sapphires come with two in the pack or just one? I know I read something about two in a pack but that might just be the little filling do-hickys?

yup two in a pack.

You are using 2.4-2.6ohm fluxos. at 3.7v I would recommend using the XL 2.6-2.8ohm variety. If you do the plug tweak I mentioned you will be able to get the 2.4-2.6 working fine but after using these things for a long time I find the 2.6-2.8 are better suited to 3.7v. They don't burn quite as hot making them a more consistent vape

Ok, I got the Sapphires in this afternoon. So far I am not impressed. They give off a terrible burnt taste like a CE2 going dry every other hit. You have to let them sit a few mins between hits or blow into the mouth piece before every hit to avoid this. Even still, if I take a long deep drag, I get the burning flavor. I got four of them so I will try some of the others and see if its just a bad box and report back. Another thing to note is that they go through juice like crazy. The first fill was half gone in about ten minutes! I don't want to give up on them yet though. When they hit well they are quite nice. The closest thing I can compare them to is a CE2, but they seem better built and haven't leaked on bit yet so I hope I can get them working well. As far as working on the E-Power, they work exactly the same as they do on my 3.7v box mod. They do not fit into the stock cone with the sticker on (I modified one of my cones to increase the hole size) but they fit reasonably well with the sticker off.
Edit: I have read that they require a break in period to get rid of the burnt taste, so I will see if they improve and let you know.
