Now I'd like to ask you one thing.

In the end of the year, we will made a trip to Florida (Miami, Key West and Orlando).

I'd like to know if I can travel with my lighter (not a torch one), and if you think is a problem to pass the security with my njoy?

Thanks a lot,

Max

Cigarette lighters are no longer banned from US flights. The TSA lifted the ban about a year ago because "lighters are not a serious threat" anymore.

However, just don't try to get on with more than 3 oz of toothpaste.:w00t:

As for the njoy, I have not heard of anyone having a problem taking an e-cig through security. I doubt that the TSA even knows about them yet. I wouldn't be surprised it they aren't the next thing on the list.

To be on the safe side, it wouldn't be a bad idea to fly with a cheaper e-cig and stick the njoy into checked luggage. :thumb:

Got a flight coming up soon and my goodies are going in the hold. I will, however, carry a generic penstyle with me and puff it on the plane. I want to push the envelope here. I'm carrying a generic in case I get busted by security - don't want to lose a Kissbox for my pains...

The carrier will probably be British Airways

Thanks a lot for the input,

I'll carry in my hand bag a cheap e-cigarette (where I can find one?).

And tell me one thing, I'm having a little difficult to quit smoke analog cigarettes, where I can post a topic about it? or have any topic ever posted?

Thanks a lot,

Max

I have an good e-cig for sale.
PM me.

I also had a hard time quiting real ciggy's.
It also depends on my mood.
Smoking a real cig. gives a quick fix.
Today I only e-smoked.
I want to keep it that way.

The hardest times for me are when I first wake up and have my first cup of coffee.
I want "real" cigarette.
Then after dinner I really need the real cigarette.

I did great today!

Hello Max. There is a section of the forum for your topic: Quitting with the E-Cigarette

It would be good to see more talking in there. Many of us have quit the ciggies. I like your description, analog cigarettes. :D

HA. That was probably around the time folks started writing about the wisdom of using airport concourses to store giant vats of cheap flammable leaking lighters.

i took a flight last saturday at 7am,and returned on sunday night at 11pm.i didnt bring any e-smoking devices, and i was determined not to buy any cigarettes after being off them for many months, and i detest nicorette gum...so i was pretty worried about how i was gonna make it for 40+ hours with no nicotine, but i wanted to test myself.

you know what?it wasnt quite as bad as id feared.
ok,it was no cake walk,i did get a headache and was grumpy on occasion, and i missed vaping...but it certainly wasnt anywhere near as bad as not having a cigarette for the same period when i smoked.

this leads me to the conclusion that i might be able to eventually cut down and down and down very gradually, until im esmoking just the low carts.maybe even eventually no nic carts...either that or im just kidding myself...but its still a goal worth aiming for,i feel.

Good news D.

Dunno if I could have done the 40 hour thing - test too far for me at the moment, but flight abstinence doesn't really hurt any more. It used to be a nightmare, but I gave up cigs for two years a few years back. Since then forced abstinences haven't really hurt me. The knowledge that I could do without it (and did do without it in the past), took a lot of the edge off.

If you mean the detectors you walk through, I would have thought so yes, you would have to remove it from your person as with other metal items such as your watch, belt ect. I have carried mine in my handbag through 4 airports now and it has not been picked up by the bag scanner though, I would say it would be best to put it in a carry on bag.

I learn from loongtotem that you can smoke anywhere with e-cigarette,for example:in the office,in the service station,in a restaurant,on a plane.so of course E-smoking on an airplane is OK.

Ha ha, no it's not OK with the airline attendants.
Because they are afraid when other passengers see you "smoke" they want to smoke also, and might get upset.

It has not been approved.

loongtotem can tell you anything.....

Hi,

I have recently purchased the Gamucci brand, I'm in Spain and they are starting to advertise in the UK. I've just arrived back from Chicago, flying Delta to Spain. On the way to Chicago I smoked the e-cig in the airplane bathroom, as it was daylight the entire flight and I wasn't interested in having a US airmarshall in my face. I also carry snuff and mint snus in case I really just need a quick pep but as we know it's not quite the same as a cigarette. The first time I tried this I was waiting for the smoke alarm to go off.. but, of course, nothing happened and I did this a few times during the flight very happily. I think this was the first time I got off a plane and didn't have the feeling to rush outside after getting my luggage to light up. Very liberating.

On the return, it was a night flight and after dinner I really just wanted to smoke with my glass of wine. The lights were turned out shortly, and I brought out the gamucci and asked my neighbour if it would bother him if I smoked an electronic cigarette (another spainard so I assumed he really wouldn't mind). He just turned over and went back to sleep. So I sat up for a while, quite low in the chair as I didn't want to make too much notice for myself with the vapour, and really enjoyed smoking after dinner. Maybe five minutes later, the steward came striding over and looked at me and what I was holding, and asked me (with a little fear in his voice) if I was smoking. I laughed and said No! of course not! Are you kidding? In a plane in this day and age? He looked very, very relieved and looked over his shoulder - whoever was sitting behind me thought I was actually having a cigarette (I'm not sure why they didn't ask me directly, I guess it scared them). I told the steward that it was a smoking cessation device from my doctor, and as soon as he heard that he breathed again and said, no problem, and left me to it.

During my two weeks in Chicago everyone who saw me smoking in a bar or at an office I was visiting wanted one, and fortunately cigar stores there are starting to sell various brands, mostly NJoy so far though I do prefer brands with built-in chargers rather than external batteries, so I'm very happy to see this starting to catch on. Here in Spain, we can still smoke tobacco in bars/clubs/restaurants so it will be a while before the e-cig will be a wanted commodity, but elsewhere in Europe I'm getting a lot of interest from everyone. I'm a young business woman, so I hang out in a lot of popular bars and clubs, ad agencies etc, and it's wonderful to see that this e-cig is seen as a cool tech device. My scene of people are generally very tech-oriented and the pick-up rate is phenomenal once they've tried it. Their non-smoking boy/girlfriends are also very happy!

Feel free to ask me questions about my airline smoking experiences. I travel a lot, so I'll keep in touch about using the device. I also feel that the airlines need to be aware of the device and should have an official policy, however until then if you feel that you can get away with it, maybe first go ahead and ask the steward/ess or at least your neighbour, or just go to the privacy of the bathroom.

I'm going to Australia in a few months, which is about 24 hours straight in a non-smoking environment, I'll definitely be asking the steward first this time as I don't want it taken away from me.
