Ahh, that explains that then!

*chuckle* with regards to the resetting the device to factory settings. Do they come with firmware updates, too?

Oh man that would be awesome. After stumbling upon the entire concept of the electronic cigarette, I started coming up with a million ways it could be incorporated into some kind of awesome scifi novel:

-digital cigarette as a part of your "personal area network" - communicates with a wearable computer and displays your nicotine levels and number of "cigarettes smoked" in a display in your glasses, maybe switches automatically to non-nic liquid (stored in a reservoir in the device) when you've had too much, etc.

-vending machines selling long-term refills where you insert your own e-cig and it pressure-injects the liquid into your cig, maybe lasting a month or so...

repeat ad futurism.

Hm, I was working on that as a backdrop, but then diverted to a far-future novel for nanowrimo (involving a toxic waste cult). Another time perhaps ;)

And no, nicotine isn't the only thing that's vaped in that future (but neither is it anything as crude as 'whacky baccy').

The battery of an e-cig has a small chip in it that has stored digital information on it. So yes it can be considered a digital cigarette.

And I'll be willing to bet that this chip has more processing power than the computer used to land man on the moon. 8-o

(I called it "misting" in my original video, because of the mist created. D'oh!)

I call mine the Star Trek Cigarette because many of the older people I've shown it to are amazed in that "Huh... technology..." kind of way. So, with that in mind, I was dripping some 36mg juice the other day while on break and a co-worker asked me what I was doing. I just smiled and said, "Setting phasers to stun."

Yeah, I'm just a geek like that. :D
