Thanks bad-kolo, that's what i need is a sum up. still liking the white top on top of the cup with a hole/notch to drip through but working more with your middle ring now to see. all mine 2.5 ohm but the 401's and don't seem to do much better even at 2.6 volts BUT better than anything else that can hold juice.
Thanks again for your work and the summation

Somewhat OT. Do you modify your eGo atties or do they work for you out of the box?

The attys themselves work fine out of the box except for occassionally needing to pull the bridge up a little so they'll wick. The carts require some extremely annoying messing with to get them to both hold enough liquid AND wick properly without flooding. Huge pain in the ....

Edit: Also, Bruce at COV is great. He offered to refund me for any unused ones I returned. I'm going to keep them and just mod them for right now as an exercise in getting comfortable filling them. I'll order some 3ohm xls later on once this supplier issue gets sorted.

I hope you don't mind me asking but how fast is the delivery from China now as last time for me back in the R3 days I had to wait weeks?
RC

you mean to Australia? that I dunno
but the courier delivery is really fast between China and the U.S., I have had an order leave China on a Saturday and arrive to me on Wednesday when EMS is used. EMS is the USPS Express Mail.

Now how soon your order leaves China is a different question, it depends on what's out of stock and if they have to mix up liquids or what not.

I think their liquid is Dekang isn't it? one time a flavor was out of stock and I was able to decide if they should wait for it or change the liquid. If they get it from Dekang, then I imagine they would need to wait on them too.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I thought. COV has supposed r4's but they're ~2.5 ohms. My r3's are still serving me well so I guess I'll wait until I can be sure of getting higher resistance units.

I just got my R4 from CoV last night. I did have the horrible taste at the beginning but I forgot to dry burn. when i refilled them i didnt noticed filler but i only took off the cap and the ring. These should be R4 right?

I have received 3 orders from cov and everyone that he had claimed to be r4's were DEF r4's.... Bruce had inspect his shipment to make sure they weren't .......s... And he's a pleasure to deal with if u had any questions I'm sure he would he more than happy to help you.... Also if u want ( as bad had said) pull both rings out and slide a paper lip or toothpick down the outside of the cup to feel for the sleeve if the sleeve is there than it IS an r4

Mine had filler in them from cov.510xls. It's hard to tell the filler is there except that they won't hold quite as much... unless you rip them apart. Is suggest waiting a week to make sure the supplier issues get sorted.

Bruce is definitely great to work with, though, and I would buy from him again. Not his fault and he's very accommodating.

I guess some are floating around I destroyed 3 of mine just to make sure and all 3 had no filler.... Guess it happens ...

My dealings with cov have all been positive. I'm just going to wait for 3 ohm r4's. I emailed Bruce a couple of days ago to inquire about the current stock and he replied that what he had at that point were 2.5's. I'm patient. My modded r3's and 3.5's are doing fine for now.

So after my first full day of PTB'ed bastomizer use I'm going to have to say that I'm quite pleased overall. The 2.5ohms is even growing on me, nice and warm. It's also shown me that about 1ml of the 2.5 I was putting in the XL carts was getting caught up in the filler and wasted. Filled up 3 of the cartos this morning fully expecting that to be nowhere near enough for the day and then didn't swap to the second one until 4:30! All the 3 backup XL carts I brought sat untouched and I didn't have to pull tweazers or my hanky out all day.

Very positive overall.

Same here, I PTBed my 510 bastomizer XL's and they are performing great. I'm really happy with how long they'll go before they need refilling.

I killed one (almost 2) of them doing the PTB mod though...I pulled the wick out the coil. In the future I'm gonna pull the cup, stem, and threading out of the carto in order to cut the wick. It's not that hard, I saw someone post you just connect the carto to a battery, and wiggle it free. Worked, and I was able to re-thread one of the wicks through the coil and saved one :) The other one I stressed the coil too much and it burned out. Live and learn.

lol well i had a similar occurence i tried to PTB a carto that had alread been used and oulled the soggy wet wick right out of the coil lol... i also tried keeping the carto attached to the battery.... but the button on the ego stayed attached to the carto and oulled the batt out of the tube... pushed it back in and all is good

Nice save! I had a dead eGo batt I tried to fix and I popped it out like that on purpose. I think the trick is to apply torque on the end of the carto so the leverage makes the weakest link give, being the carto base. I had my other thumb on the button ring.
