Any idea if the R4 from COV or VaporJunction are different - I assume they should be the same :) . I have both in my cart right now and VaporJunction are cheaper, all said I would rather go cheaper if there is no difference.

Thanks

It's too early to tell. I have ordered from V.Junction in the past and he had the real r3. I'm sure people will be chiming in next week when orders start arriving.

Thanks - If you or anyone had to pick which would be the most likely to be the real R4 ? My luck would be to pick the wrong one :) . Looking at the 3 ohm for my Buzz.,

Thanks again

I didn't boil but used water just under boiling, several flushes and soaks. After blow drying I put them in my rice filled container for a day to absorb more moisture out.

First few draws on XL flavor was improved but then it got bad again.

The regular, probably one of the "rodent urine" stiff wick, discolored, didn't improve at all.

I just ordered some from COV that became available sometime after 0730 today. Don't know how long they will be in stock according to what everyone is saying about them "flying out the door".

The boiling help ALOT!!! its like a LR atty flavor wise. Took all the plastic parts out and boiled for about 2 minutes. Dry burned and realinged the wire to get a nice bright glow, refilled, now its GREAT!!.

If someone could make them with out putting primer fluid in them, that would seem to solve most of the problems with the r4s.

I'm still not going back to the ones with filler. The taste on those is just nasty and unavoidable.

TIP, New out of the box, disassemble, boil 2 minutes, blow out excess water, reassemble, dry burn to bright red 4-5 times, then fill. NO primer taste, loads of vapor, and wicking is great.

So Saturday morning I got my syringe and tools out to load up some cartos. I only use them when not sitting around the house, so I usually concentrate the mess by filling several every week or two. I had planned modding some more and using more PG juice to see how that worked out.

I had started with a pack of 5 XL 510 E2 R4 which all turned out to be semi-LR or 2.4-2.5Ω. The one that burned with vanilla flavor became an autopsy experiment and was destroyed. I had done the PTB mod on one and noted it was barely adequate (improved) using 50/50 fruit flavor juice. I was able to do the PTB on the third one that I had already used. I also modded the remaining 2 new ones. I filled those 4 with either 100% PG or at least mostly PG, mixing in some 50/50 in the syringe for better flavor.

I managed to use one up between an hour or so while errand running Saturday and about a half day in the garage on Sunday. With the PTB mod and mostly or all PG juice these get the job done. They're performing at least as good as the eGo mega cartos, with a warmer less-airy draw. Based on my vaping habits, I'd say that the one E2 I emptied out is probably pretty empty. It also dried out in a predictable, and not unpleasant fashion. That is, it didn't go burnt all of a sudden. I could tell it was getting a little dry and was able to get a couple more draws off of it without risk of gunking it up.

I also dropped a filled E2 in a small ziplock and kept it in my front pocket on Sunday while working in my garage. Both so I could have a spare on hand, but also check for leakage while wearing clothes I didn't mind fouling up while also being pretty active (rolling around under my 50 Ford pulling the transmission and clutch). No leaks. There wasn't even any liquid moisture in the baggie. Definitely will pass a business attire or briefcase use case.

Conclusion: Simply on the merit that they are less messy to store, I'll probably mod my remaining 5 E2s and put them to work in favor of my eGo mega cartos. By the time I tear these 10 up, hopefully enough of the better functioning 3Ω R4s will be out in circulation for my next order. So call this a cautious 2 thumbs up.

The coil and wick was already dry. The whole stem was remove from the tube, wick dab off with tissue, so it was very easy to dry burn it. There was definitely no more water on the wick, dry as bone..hehehe.

Tell you guys a warning...that happen after I soak the carto in white rice vinegar to get the AC flavor out of the carto !! AC flavor didn't go off but the shrink tubing did..LOL. So, those cleaning with vinegar..beware, thats all..hehehe

I don't know exactly how you have been doing things, or if you would be interested, but I have been removing the tubes from the E2's for inspections, mods, etc., and then putting them back together for continued use.

The ceramic cup can get very hot during a sustained dry burn. In subdued light, you can see it glowing red. I usually keep the button pulses shorter and further apart as necessary to prevent excess temperature.

How are you tearing them apart without destroying it? I can't figure out how to get the battery connector out without cracking it or deforming the whole thing.

Screw it firmly on to an old battery. Then clamp the battery in a vise. Make certain that the end of the battery tube with the fitting inside is included in the clamp. This will prevent the battery tube from collapsing. Then wiggle the carto around in various ways to stretch the metal of the tube. Once it begins to move around a wee bit, continue while pulling. Don't get in a big hurry and try to keep the stretched metal to a minimum. If successful, it will not leak when it is pressed back on. If the stretch is too much, simply swap ends with the tube. Use the vise to press it back on. Make certain that the fitting is exactly square with the tube while pressing. Otherwise, it will stretch the tube.

I will try that. I have a vice in the garage and although I don't have any old batteries, I do have batteries none the less.
