I started vaping about a month ago with a Joye 510. While it was nice for the first week or so, I found myself taking 8-9 second drags, draining batteries, and killing my atomizers way too quickly. I wanted a better vaping experience, better vapor, better throat hit, and batteries that I didn't have to change every 1.5 hours.
I ordered an Ego kit and an extra 1000mah battery and have been using it for the last 2 1/2 days. Here are a few of the differences I've found:
1. My drag time has decreased by more than half. Instead of needing a 8-9 second drag (on 24mg nic), I'm taking 3-4 second drags and getting an even better throat hit, and tons more vapor.
2. I'm still on the first battery charge after 2 1/2 days (using the 650 mah)! I'm a moderate vaper, not a heavy vaper, but with my 510 I would have been through 6-7 charges already.
3. I'm vaping less because I feel satisfied for longer, i.e. my PV is giving me the full effect of my 24mg juice. I'm actually satisfied before I want to be done vaping! Which means I can switch to a lower mg.
4. Huge vapor production increase! I'm not dragging so hard that I make the stupid fish-face anymore!
So, do I wish that I would have just started with the Ego to begin with? Sort of. I am kind of glad I started with the 510 because now I've had the opportunity to see the huge differences first-hand. It was an educational experience that only cost me 50 bucks or so.
These are my personal opinions, there are obviously many who prefer the smaller PV models for good reasons. But for those who want to start off with something they will be mostly satisfied with for a longer period of time, the Ego is the way to go IMHO.
