Hey Nuck, I read the pdf on this chip and if I dont put a resisttor on it it will out put 5v right. I only ask Because I am dont know much about these things.

Thanks
Jason

Yep..a solid 5v if the adj pin is left open assuming you have the battery to support the current. It's an amazing component and has given me some kickass mods.

will a 18650 fit the battery need for it at 5v?

It works amazing. I tested all atomizers with it and an 18650 is capable of running at 5.2v using a low resistance atty (510) and sustaining the current. I tested with greater than 12w of power being generated and it was rock solid. You have to be careful which protection PCB is on the 18650 though, not all of them will allow an adequate current flow.

I just got through looking at your mod and i got to thinking too, the black button for the light, could that be used to toggle 3.7v and 5v? maby add a little red led that lights when in 5v light (it is POWER mode after all).

edit: Found out the battery in that device is "220 mAh 3.7v 20×25x6.2mm Li-poly cell", that would make it a li-po version of a janty stick. i likey!

thanks, thats info i needed. was wondering how big that battery was.

I got that USB flashlight form DX, but the USB output currenty is too low, can not power a 510 atts unless you use an inline bats PT. The light is bright so i consider keep it as a flash light and temporary use the 18650 for my temp 3.7v mod now while waiting for this flashlight DealExtreme: $11.99 UltraFire A30B Cree Q5-WC 220-Lumen LED Flashlight (1*CR123A) and some protected 18650 and Wf-139 charger to make a simple 3.7v one 18650 mod use RCA+Switch adapter.
