Almost forgot to give the update on these Panasonic 18650 Li-Mn-Li-ion CGR18650CH High Drain 10A Rechargeable Hybrid IMR Battery Cell Ordered Late Saturday night, they were here on Wednesday. Real deal Panasonic's Quite impressed with them so far. They did raise the price a dollar on them but still not a bad deal @11bucks a piece free shipping.

To get back on topic going to try to finish the PCB design for these chips this weekend and post in here when i am done.

I'm looking to build one of these. Has anything changed in discussion since the original post or have you kept it updated to match any information that was spoken about in the thread?

I can easily build this mod given the directions in the first post... I just want to make sure it is all still accurate.

The only two things I noticed that were really discussed throughout the thread are whether or not it needs capacitors and if that resistor is correct.

So is it still a 200ohm resistor? Do I need any capacitors? Where would I attach them if I did need them?

If you operating it off a batteries you dont need caps for this module. Only reason to add caps would be if you made the mod to where it could run off a AC adapter or simpley put, make it PT capable. AC adapters can put out a lot of noise so a cap should be used to filter it out. Batteries dont put out much noise at all, no need to filter. 200 ohm resistor would work data sheet calls for 218.5 ohms minimum resistance, but 200 is close enough. If it was me i would slap a 220 ohm on there cause i will never use 6 volts to vape with. 218.5 ohm will set the max voltage at 6 volts you might get a max voltage of 6.2 with a 200 ohm.

seen a lot of folks use this enclosure. You can also check out the evercool thread it is a Ti module that is almost the same it requires caps is about the only thing different.

18650 battery case 2 x parallel connection DIY case | eBay

I've got a lot of 14500 batteries so I'll probably go that route. I saw some cool 9V/AA remote control boxes on Digikey that have removable gameboy-like battery compartments but I think I might go the simple direction of just getting a 4XAA battery compartment and modding it old-fashioned style for my first one. I've got time to get fancy as I get better at it.

I ended up using a 220ohm and, lemme see... yup, 6.1v no load. With low batt cut of, here.

Here is the finished product. A HUGE thanks to Mamu, the creator of this post (OP) and everyone els who helped!

Specs

Voltage range Im getting is 3.7V-6.5V

Radio Shack 1"X2"X4" Project box
2 AW 2900mah protected batteries
6A OKR-T regulator, Pot and resistor from the first post
Battery posts are from a dual size C battery holder from Radio shack
Voltage display from madvapes <---Works well!
Horn Style style switch from madvapes <------More on this piece of .... later!
threaded 510 adapter from madvapes <----pricey!!!!

Its not done yet. I still have to add a external charging port, a LED and replace that stupid ....ing switch with one that works every time I press it! And one that doesnt stick into the case as much. Do yourself a favor and dont buy this switch from mad vapes, its really cheap and will break in no time. Mine did.

This is freaking sweet, once I got the cash for my tools im going to try and build this in an altoids can. Where would you hook up a Battery Voltage Indicator in this diagram?

Here is my Altoids with dual 18650s.

It mostly depends on which voltage you would like to measure. If you are using the MV MM you have I believe 6 different measurements you can take. So you can measure each cell, cells combined, and atty output.

For basic output measurement you would go from battery negative to atty positive.



I used a DPDT togle switch to switch between reading battery voltage remaining and voltage going to 510.

ok i have a question for you okr gurus. I want to make a vv out of this but i want to put a 3 way sliding switch it in and a display i want the switch to be up fireing, down atty off set voltage, and middle everything off is there a way to do this and if so can you show me a drawing of how i should wire it?
