I am just so sick and tired of the notion that kids will like them because of the flavors. What a bunch of BS! Where is a kid getting the money to use PV's? When does anyone talk about parental supervision? Just regulate PV's like they do analogs. You can't purchase if you are under 18. If you are over 18, you are old enough to decide for yourself.

These claims drive me nuts too. It completely ignores the fact that adults like those flavors too! So, to compare, all liquors that aren't whiskey, vodka, gin, or tequila need to be banned. No beer with any fruit additives or other flavorings either. No more wine coolers. No more "twisted teas" or "hard lemonades" (if those aren't marketed toward a younger crowd than are legally allowed to purchase them, I don't know what is). Are we going to start banning everything that children and adults like the flavor of in order to keep children away? What responsible person would sell our product to a child anyway (assuming the kid somehow came up with the money)?

You know, I really haven't given the topic of flavors marketing to kids much of a thought, till I read this (mostly cause it's a stupid point).
It made me think a bit.
Should condoms be banned? Do you see all the kids in america chewing on flavored condoms like its bubble gum? Nope (I hope not).
I don't think I've ever seen a kid smoke a cigar... they have WAY better flavors than analogs... yet kids still go for the cigs (maybe ashtray is the flavor kids enjoy most).
What about urinal cakes? Those should be banned cause some of them smell better than piss... yet I've never seen a kid walk out of a store with one and eat it.
Point is... you can't take things away from adults because kids may get ahold of them. Thats why parents (not the government) need to teach their kids.
Now excuse me... I'm off to eat some chapstick.

I am 19 in 3 days, and by most standards including my own very much so still a kid, and most of my friends are under 18, and all smoke. All I can say is that NONE of them are interested in the E-Cig. AT ALL. I dont really get it seeing as I am almost bonkers waiting for mine to get here. And all of them only even KNOW ABOUT IT because I told them about it. The knowlage is out there if your in the right place at the right time, but for the most part people under 18 dont even know what a E-Cig is, let alone want to pay 60 bucks for one online.

What about a chocotini? It's a chocolate martini. Kids like chocolate. Why aren't these banned! Any child could easily get a hold of these. Hey, you can do a Google search and find recipes online! They could be making them in their treehouse! And Target even sells plastic chocotini delivery devices. And, here's the catch, they will sell them to minors!

Oh, wait, I like Target. And I don't drink. And maybe it's just aimed at people who like chocolate. <WARNING: SEXIST REMARK> Okay, it's marketed at women. They have this relationship with chocolate.

As a person who loves vaping, I really can not see any appeal to an e-cig that any child or teen would find desirable. THEY HAVE CELL PHONES NOW! If that's not corrupting the youths of the world, I have no idea what is.

P.S. Kudos to me! I just learned how to lock the keyboard on my cell phone. No more ....-dialing the person at the top of my phonebook! I couldn't be prouder!
P.P.S. DO NOT PROMOTE E-CIGS TO MINORS! If my supplier runs out of licorice e-juice there will be hell to pay! I also call dibs on cherry! No take backs.

thanx. my first laugh today...

I love the flavors argument..... it reinforces the distorted perception of the anti e-cig people.

As I stroll down the liquor store aisle I see cherry flavored vodka and chocolate Godiva liquers. Then I stopped at the pharmacy to check out the fruit flavored Cinnamon and Fruitty flavored NRT gums. FDA approved fruity flavors I might add.....

Those darn kid targeted alco beverages and fruitty nicotine gum. After all I know alot more kids who chew gum than I do who smoke....

FDA Cracks Down on E-Cigarettes - ABC News

I love the guy at the end of that who says "A lot of people are going to continue to smoke their regular cigarettes as well as this one."

So the F what? Like there's nobody out there that smokes cigarettes and cigars, or cigarettes and a pipe, or all three, or all three plus dip and snuff....

I know people that will smoke ANYTHING.

Even if people use both, that probably means they're still going to be cutting down on the real thing. And that's good.

These "anti" people are brain dead.

Great find - and it shows that our ECA IS doing all it can - I, for one, appreciate the work....keep it up, guys.

The reporting did get a few things wrong - again, though...

These HAVE been tested..... the tests simply weren't "good" enough (the NZ study for Ruyan - the liquid testing by TW, etc). What they should be saying is that there haven't been any long range tests done....and never will be because of impossible standards.
And anytime the bring up the fruity flavors attracting children....grrrrrr!

/endrant

its probally better that they didn't say the FDAs bs test results
