Out of curiousity, Does Lacey Underall not sit on the BoD? I only see one female listed on the BoD on your website, but I thought that both you (nycsublimegirl) and Lacey sat on the board. So is Lacey just a member? I actually thought she was higher up the chain than you because of her outspoken representation here at ECF. but this means that either she's not on the board, or she's really a he, or you've added more board members that aren't listed on your website. Was hoping you could enlighten me a bit. Thanks.

I am having the Policy Impact lawyer prepare an official response on the Law regarding being allowed to run as a 501c6 until officially approved. Secondly Lacey was one of the biggest parts of the ECA being formed. She chose to not sit on the board, but is an ECA member.

Ahh thanks for the clarification on Lacey's status. And a letter regarding interim operating protocols would be great. That said, I find it rather odd how you can accuse me of changing facts with no proof, but when I show you evidence that you are a pot calling a kettle black, you seem to ignore it. Please do not go down the same road that Lacey went down on this forum, you saw how ugly it got and how poorly it reflected on the ECA. :( I personally don't mind being accused of doing things that I'm quite clearly not doing, but an acknowledgement that the ECA has and is misrepresenting its status on its official website, and that I didn't pull the accusation of misrepresentation out of thin air, that might be a good way to avoid burning a bridge or two. I even took a screenshot for you so you wouldn't have to navigate around to see where I was talking about. Don't you think you owe me the curteousy to say that you were wrong?

Thanks :)

Also I would like to add as previously stated all the 501c6 shows is how the ECA files its taxes, showing that we are non-profit and not taking a salary as being part of the BOD. Considering we are funding this pretty much with our own money some members on the BOD giving even over the amount of the recommended dues.... we would be just paying ourselves with our own money if we were taking a salary... That really wouldn't make any sense.. personally if Bloog or I could personally afford to give more I would ...let alone take money from it.

in short reply, as I will have a longer reply later....

1) I will see if policy impact can get me more for you ....

Antoinette,

I’m not sure which document he is referring to, although I imagine it is the official certificate of incorporation from DCRA, which unfortunately did not pick up the embossing when scanned. However, this information can be backed up on the website at: DCRA: Registered Organization Search I have also included a copy of the articles of incorporation as filed and a copy of the certificate in case you in fact do not have a copy already.

I hope this helps,
Ben

That link to the DCRA which now shows the ECA as being registered clears up absolutely everything with your status and I'm very glad to see that you were approved 2 days ago and you now have a link. That link should be posted prominently on your site as well as here, to get rid of any doubt as to your registration. It serves much better than the document you posted yesterday. So ditch the other stuff and post that link like mad wherever you go, it actually means something unlike some of the other stuff.

Also, since you thought you were still just an applicant, I can inform you that the ECA is indeed registered and active as a 501(c)(6). You might spread the word both internally and with a new thread here at ECF to let everyone know.

That said, I still have questions before I would donate, but thanks to Ben, you have just leveled a huge speedbump in the road. So thank him kindly for the link and let him know that that crazy dude at ECF is happy to see that link and can move on to other issues and questions. :D I'll begin with those tomorrow after I've rested. :)

I am glad you are glad. It has been very frustrating being upright and being accused otherwise. It has simply been a matter of finding hours in the day as I have stated before, and more immediate issues like the vote in the senate this week has taken our attention. Things just do not happen appear overnight. The filing from two days ago was the result of Ben from PI hounding whoever's desk it was on in the filing office to process it .... it was submitted before then.
