I was browsing last night and happened upon another forum for vapers. I read, oh, maybe 20 posts. The profanity, sexually explicit comments etc. just turned me off. I am not a prude by any stretch of the imagination (well, maybe just a wee bit), but I was taught to be careful what I put in writing, especially on a public venue. It got me thinking about ECF and what a pleasant place this is. I do not like to be "moderated" and I don't agree with every rule, BUT I appreciate all the work done by the moderators here. There are times I would like to use a wordy dirt but I don't because I value my membership and do not want to jeopardize it with a stupid expletive. Nor do I wish to read about anyone's sexual exploits with our without vaping. For all those times I just tangle my fingers and bite my qwerty tongue to avoid telling someone to just "get over it", there are just as many times I realize how much I enjoy this troll free, spam free and flame free environment.

So, thank you admin and moderators for giving us a great place to learn and share. It is unusual in the forum world, IMO.

BTW, the forum I found was attached to a really good website so I was really surprised. I don't think it was moderated in any form.

Other forums are where you get to read all the back-stabbing gossip. Just don't post anything and you fly under the radar.

It has been my hope for a while since this began that I might hear of someone having won one of the "prizes" ECF mentioned in conjunction with the 10,000,000 number of posts but so far, I haven't heard of anyone winning a prize yet; hwr, I hope in the near future someone will not only receive a prize, as mentioned, but win a prize of something the person in question desperately needs, if you know what I mean...

ECF: Thanks for offering this contest and for keeping up with the amazing numbers of people who posted on ECF all this time. It is utterly amazing.

I staked out reading everything I was able to find for a while before finally registering in order to enter specific forums and ask questions of others regarding their notion of the e-cigarettes and which were the most affordable yet at the same time the most handy, delicate for women, and would serve as a workhorse as well b/c women aren't so prim and proper these days - we can't afford to be if we want to work, care for kids, home, & other things, with the "other half" helping inside as well as out and more than work at a job b/c most families have 2-parent incomes not by choice but by need. I was fortunate to find a company who needed a tester & I went through several of their line of e-cigs and putting them through the paces before writing a review for the many subscribers on the e-group support lists I'm on along with learning through trial and error as to how I could hold back the nicotine cravings when I wake up, before I lay down at night (I don't sleep so I'm up off and on throughout the day & night until I had a crash where I sleep for some 4 to 14hrs and goes again); I also crave them more when I'm having drinks with friends, tho that doesn't happen as much anymore these days except for one friend who comes in from TN to visit. I learned to add a little extra nicotine in a spare 6ml dropper bottle that's marked with a rubber band under the neck area below the threading so nobody gets them mixed up. It's worked for me & I hope it works for others.

It's also a great place to teach the proverbially "old dogs new tricks." :) I was so happy when I convinced an elderly woman I've run across at one doctor's appt as our appts tend to run at the same time-frames on the same days. She loves her e-cig now and wouldn't think of going back to analogs. I love those days too and keeping a few post-it notes with the forum address (with the use of ........com) to allow them to find out more about the e-cig world and how it helps, not hurts those who move from tobacco/analog cigarettes to e-cigarettes.

Anyhow, I'll keep checking back to find out who makes the 10,000,000 post. It's going to be a great thing to happen. I hope ecig will send out emails letting us know in case I miss a day to stop by to check in.

We haven't hit 10 mil posts yet. I think it's still going?

Yup. And everyone needs to be good, too. Locked threads and deleted posts aren't counted towards the magic number. ;)

Locked doesn't count? But the posts don't go away..... You can read them, just not post in them. I get that deleted posts wouldn't count.... That makes sense. :)

This 'watching' makes me think of our visit up to Nannana (?sp), Alaska and their annual ice break up lottery - folks buy $2 chances to guess the 'date and time' as to when the ice will break up out on the river nearby. Someone places a wooden 'tripod' out on the ice and when the ice breaks up and the tripod begins to flow down the river, whoever has guessed that exact time/date wins the $ pot.
or, another fun event....
further south, in Talketna, Alaska those folks have their annual 'Moose Drop' - they pick up moose droppings, paint them all one color (gold), then paint numbers on each little turd... wrap them up in a tarp or bag and this bundle is then picked up (and hung) by a helicopter or plane which takes the bundle high above a 'target' painted on the ground... folks purchase/pick a numbered dropping... the chopper drops the 'load'.... and whoever's #'d turd comes closest to the center of the target wins the 'moose drop' !
Alaskans can and do have great amounts of fun thinking up and doing simple things during the long winters up there! lol

Now, we could begin our own lottery by guessing the date/time of that winning 10,000,000th post!
