But....do those non counting posts show up in the total post tally on the front page? what if we haven't even really hit ten million and I'm the only one still up and posting????

Nope. That total is "real" posts only - doesn't include Lounge posts and anything else excluded from individual post counts.
We have "officially" gone over the 10 million mark. But wazzit mean? That first post announcing the contest didn't say 10,000,000th post* - with an asterisk pointing to 14 paragraphs of contest rules. Hmmm... Sounds like it could be very arbitrary to me.
Seriously, it does make one wonder what the "real" #10 post will be, when you factor in potential deletions for various reasons, any threads moved to the Lounge and stuff like that. The actual winning post might be a moving target for a week or more. Which is probably why an official winner won't be announced for a bit.

Well, I can tell you guys for SURE, that the 10 million posts they are counting is NOT the number already mentioned, that looks like "tml#post10719446" at the end of the browser.
How do I know? Because I just checked posts going back to the very BEGINNING of this month, and it was WELL over 10,500,000 posts already.
