What gear do you own and do you have a favourite?
I have a question for the drippers. Do you drip exclusively or do you also use a tank? Hey, what is the non dripping way referred to anyway? So, I'm guessing you can both subohm and +ohm when you drip right? What is the experience like and how does it differ to regular vaping? Do you tend to go through more juice?
Check that thread out for more details on the types of atomizers around. I just have tanks at the moment, which includes the tank which came in the Subox mini kit, a Griffin RTA and an Aromamizer RDTA. The last two tanks are for rebuilders only as you have build coils. I do not have any RDA (drippers) yet. I look forward to trying them out in the future, but for now my two new tanks will keep me busy. My understanding is a good RDA was always better than tanks because it offered better air flow, clouds and flavour; however, there are new tanks starting to come out which promises the same results. Tanks eat more juice.
And @KayP, aargh! I loved the look of the RX200 in white and blue. Now I see toiletry accessories! I can't unsee it! Well, I don't like black so I guess I'll buy a skin when I get the mod. It might he a while, as much as people tell me not to, I HAVE to buy the VPark 30w next. Perhaps it performs terribly but it so damn cute. Anyone seen it?
LOL

Yes, it's the Smok R80 w/TFV4 mini tank, otherwise advertised as the Smok Micro One. I'm still totally lost. I know if I wanted to drip on this device I would need the R2 micro kit? I think that's what you said. I don't really know what that is though. I haven't had time to look into it all. Other than that, what else would I need? Like say I had to write a 'start to drip' shopping list, what would be on it? Also, what is the difference between an RDA and a RBA?

I'm glad you're happy with the RX200. I think it's an awesome mod from what I've read and watched and I can't wait to get one. Do you think you'll be taking it out and about or is it too heavy? What gear do you own and do you have a favourite?
RDA- Rebuildable Dripping Atomizer; RTA- Rebuildable Tank Atomizer; RBA Rebuildable Atomizer. RDAs and RTAs are both RBAs. This indicates they do not use pre-made coils, you have to build them. To drip on your Smok, you need an RDA. It just screws into the mod the same place a tank would. And this is a short shopping list: you need an RBA, wire, wick and juice. If you're going to pay somebody to build it for you, just the RDA and some juice. If you're going to build it yourself, you need to learn how, and some basic tools to do the building. Want a photo?

I think that's me all questioned out for a little bit. ;)
I do not drip exclusively and never have. I used to use tanks when out and about and drippers at home. Even that dividing line is now disappearing. Drippers can be build both subohm and +ohm. How much juice you use in each depends on the build. In general low ohm builds use more power and more juice. Nowadays, the experience is very much like vaping on a tank except you have to stop every few hits, pull the top cap and put more juice in it. Tanks, in the beginning, were more about convenience than anything else. You could fill it up and vape on it until it was empty. You didn't have to carry around a bottle of juice and futz with it every few hits, for which you need a table or three hands; one for the mod, one for the top cap and one for the juice bottle. Also, back in the day, drippers offered better flavor and airflow than could be gotten in a tank. They are still a lot simpler and maintain that attraction. Recently, however, tanks have become available that can duplicate the vape you can get from a dripper-- I love my Indulgence MT tanks, and they are a big part of the reason I no longer vape drippers exclusively at home-- and aside from the simplicity and smaller size there is now less reason to use drippers unless you just want to.

I think that's me all questioned out for a little bit. ;)

I had to switch to an RDA because my juice is so gunky; it backwashes off the wick and turns the whole tankful brown, resulting in a) a bad smell, and b) lots of wasted juice.

I always vape at 9w, 2 ohms.

The experience is completely dependent on the device. Many, if not MOST RDAs are hurricane-wind huff monsters. Mine however has a very tight draw, which is the only way I like to vape; I'm trying to refrain from smoking, not huffing solvents out of a bag. But one thing that's true of pretty much any RDA: very strong, clear taste. The windy huff monsters won't have as much flavor, just because there's so much air, it dilutes the flavor of the vape. For the absolute best flavor, you need for the airhole to be underneath the coil. In any other location, you'll get a lot of air, but not a lot of flavor. Most of those who prefer the huff monsters will dispute all that, but that doesn't make it less true.

@AndriaD " I'm trying to refrain from smoking, not huffing solvents out of a bag." That certainly made me laugh. :D

That's what those gi-normous "chuff" tips seem like to me -- to make huffing easier! Got nothing whatever to do with mimicking the feel of drawing on a cigarette! Heck, a regular driptip is different enough, though it's possible to find very slender ones that really do feel quite similar on the lips, to the slenderness of a cigarette. I used those at first, but the main problem with them is that they're *so* slender, condensate builds up inside them very quickly, gotta constantly be rinsing or swabbing them out.

But the biggest thing is that there needs to be some *resistance* (not the ohms kind!) in the draw, not just airy like an empty straw. I tried the empty straw method once when trying the patch -- totally useless, totally unsatisfying. Cartos have a really nice feel in that regard, nice tight draw, but I'm too spoiled with rebuildables now, can't really get much flavor from a carto.

I'm just the other way. I want them as free as possible, commensurate with the coil I have built. I don't want the vapor swamped by airflow, and I can't take deep subohm and super cloud, but the closer to unobstructed breathing, the better I like it.

I just don't get that at all. It's nothing like drawing on a cigarette. It's like HUFFING!

Tru'dat. I sometimes put a chuff on my drippers, too. But I don't want it top be like a cigarette. Cigarettes are evil :)

Yes, but in order to not miss them, my brain has to think I'm still doing something very much like smoking -- even if strawberries taste a hell of a lot better than any tobacco ever grown! :D

Though today I'm mixing some blueberrry stuff. Still about a million times better than tobacco! :D

To each their own, Andria. I don't oppose tootle puffing. Or cloud blowing either (although some of the teenage practitioners of the sport get on my nerves). I just personally happen to be a modwomper, that's all :) I tell people all the time: if it keeps you off the sticks, you're doing it right.

Absolutely! But I think you kinda have to evolve to that kind of vaping... A lot of us start off thinking that it has to be JUST LIKE a cigarette -- cigalikes, tobacco flavor, etc. Then we come to understand that how it looks isn't really that important; after we're off actual tobacco, a lot of us come to really hate that taste -- or remember how much we hated it before we got used to it. I've gone thru all those stages, and even come to really prefer box mods, over tubes -- if nothing else, they stand up a lot better, harder to knock over. I've dropped my nicotine from 10mg to 5mg (and it really has helped a great deal with my wintertime popsicle paws!), and have become intolerant of the burning TH I used to insist on, though I still need a little. But the one thing I don't think I'll ever grow away from is wanting that tight draw -- that kind of sensation is what I always missed the most, when I tried previously to quit smoking. But who knows. One thing I've DEFINITELY learned about vaping is NEVER SAY NEVER. Once you find that you actually can survive without cigarettes... many things become a lot more possible than ever dreamed!

Would you be interested in a 30ml bottle of e liquid from plumeco.com? I won it on a YouTube giveaway but it turns out they don't ship outside the US. I'm not sure if the poster will be choosing another winner but I did email her to say that I could supply a US address to send to. I just need an address to actually supply.

If ya want I can PM ya my addy and just mail it to you. Important to try as many things as you can. Might even see if there are vapes I ain't vaping. what MG you vaping at? Most of my shizzle is at12.

Do you mean that you would receive the juice and then mail it on to me? That would be great if you could although the YouTuber hasn't responded to my last email regarding giving her a US address. If you didn't mean that you would send it on but would like to receive it then PM me your address and I will pass it on to the girl who is contact with the juice comany. :)

I have just received my new vape. The Smok R80 and realised with some disappointment that all of my juice is far better suited to tootle puffing. I really need a higher VG in a lower nic as I want my first sub ohm experience to be as good as it should be. For now I'll get aquainted with the device, the settings, take it for a tootle puff and order some juice. Any suggestions? I was thinking of trying Cosmic Fog. I really gotta get myself a Zamplebox sub but I keep spending my vape budget on other things. I want an RDA too, a Cubis, plus I need coils for my TFV4 and Nautilus. This s**t is getting expensive.

Glad you got it, and I hope you enjoy it. There's no reason you can't use the mod for tootle puffing, you know, just by turning the power down :) But yes, you do probably need low nic juice for subohm. One alternative is to get some 0 nic juice in the same flavor you already have, and mix it by volume to get a lower nic level. And yes, it can get expensive.

Damn, I've had the sneezes since yersterday. Today the cold and as I was bending down a sneeze came along. Suffice to say I blew (can't think of any other word) my back out. So now I'm stuck, sitting still (made it to the chair) and can't move. The only things within reach is my phone and mods :(

So instead I'm puffing away on my Aromamizer, for the first time, clouding up my house and winging about my pain bah!

I followed Rip Trippers build video, stuck a dual kanthal coil build into the aromamizer, put in cotton (didn't try the scottish method as advised, do it next time) and it reads 0.32 ohm. Filled it with The Schwartz The Upside (first time trying the juice too), stuck it on the my RX200 and puffing away. Can't taste all of the flavours in it yet, but I'm loving this tank. At least I'm not tasting any vodka from the cleaning process.

That's a nice machine. I know a lot of people who swear by it. If you like the Aromamizer, put the Indulgence MT (or Mutank, it's a close cousin which also does prefab coils) and the Advken Ωega on your "someday" list. Both are excellent medium to high watt cloud tanks. The MT is my current favorite. Oh, and maybe give rayon wick a try if you're going up in power.
