With the trustfire 900mah that came with it, I'm going over 400 hits on so far. On its first charge. Its down to one bar on the battery. Its not getting hot at all.

Thanks, good to know that the provided battery can work.

My experience with unregulated mods with that battery were poor, but maybe this device can perform better with them.

I want to try the Efest ones from Liberty to see how they work. Another reason is because they are Flat top. The Trustfire's have that came with the device have the button top. I'm hoping the flat top ones are shorter because the spring on the device has a lot of tension making it a little tough lining up the threads to put together.

How long are each of these brands? I'm curious if they are different in length.
I have stocks of all three batteries (AW, Efest, and EH) in 18350 and 18500 size. My anecdotal experience is that the Madvapes EH don't give as much vape time as the AWs and Efests, but they're about half the price, so I'm not particularly disappointed.

Here's a post from the ZMax thread by ECF member Morandir835:

In all my testing the efest batteries (18490 1100mah imr, and 18650 1500mah) did perform well, as well as the AW batteries of the same size and mah, but didn't last as many cycles under the same use and charging conditions. The 18650 2000mah and the 18350's were a completely different story. The 2000mah had a higher resistance than that of the AW cell, couldn't handle more than 8.2a of current being drawn (rated for 10a just as the AW 2000mah is), and after 132 and 138 cycles saw significant loss in capacity. Have two AW 2000mah imr that are 288 and 312 cycles deep, and both still perform almost as good as new. The 18350 batts the efest had a higher resistance as well compared to the AW (which means lower amperage output, more dramatic voltage curve), and where the AW is listed 700mah and with a hobby charger measured an actual 698mah, the efests are listed at 800mah, and the best number I saw with testing my 4 samples was 673mah. Again right ~125 cycles they started losing performance. How is saving that $1 worth having to spend another $6.59 after 125 cycles later, when I can spend the $7.60 on an AW 18350 and 200 cycles later still going strong?

:ohmy:400 hits? Wow, that sounds amazing, but the amount of puffs will vary from user to user due to the difference in the duration of each drag and the operating voltage (I get ~225 puffs with 4-5sec draw and running at 3.8V). Please give us an update when you get a change to try out some IMRs, I'm eager to find out if there's a noticeable difference in runtime and performance to help me decide on which type of battery to get next. TY

I can't decide which battery to try. I keep thinking that I want the flat top type. I think I should try the AW's first. Who has them?

Im interested in what the current rating is on this device. I would like to get to the 10-12watt range on a 1.8-2.5Ω coil. It's morning here and I am just waking, so will take a closer look @ your videos etc... and the device specs when I have a chance. May just go with a ProVariV2... just a lot of $$$. I have a V1 and thought of an upgrade, but would prefer a blue mini...

Maybe with an IMR. I hope it at least gets to 10 watts. Should have mine by Monday, and will give it a try. Although I don't have a voltage monitor.

But should be OK becuase 1.8ohms at 4.3 volts gives over 10 at under 2.4 amps. I am guessing a 2.5 amp limit.........
