Hey guys, just wanted to know if the eGo-c atty wicks are suppost to be attached to the coil. I took one apart, a pretty burnt one, (silly me, wasn't paying attention and it ran almost out of juice) and the wick stayed almost embedded on the coil. Looks to me that it burned itself onto the coil. I did a slow burn and put it back together and it just isn't working quite right. It has ok vapor but the taste is almost gone. Right now, I am using a vanilla cola flavor, 50/50 mix and I can't taste it after this happened. It's almost like when I took it apart, the wick just fell apart and it's black as coal.

I had one do that to me the other day, no they aren't supposed to be attached to the coil. The one I had do that to me I was trying out a new juice that was a cream soda flavor. Normally I clean my atty heads every 5 days or so, this one I didn't as I was trying to see how long I could go before it really gunked up to the point of no return. After almost 4 weeks (it was 3 weeks and 4 days) it finally did just that. Even after letting it soak for about 30 minutes the wick was fused to the coil, fell apart and was black as coal. I just junked the atty, didn't want to rewick since I'm not really all that sure how to or where to get the wicking material and was feeling too lazy to figure it out that day lol. From my experience with the ego-c, and granted it hasn't been that long, the sweeter flavors gunk them up faster.

I bought mine 4 months ago and am on my last atty. I have three atty's, one I accidently destroyed, one (which is the one I talked about in the OP) and one that tastes burnt no matter what I do. I was hoping to have my Stardusts by now, which GotVapes has them on back-order, and I didn't want to go and spend $$ on new atty's. The slow burn on these things is hard to do, IMO.

Thanks, but I am not that inclined to do all of that. I have destroyed one atty already by just taking it apart, let alone tackle all of that in that post.

I have found that by regularly dry burning the coil it can last quite a long time and enhance the performance for longer periods. You have to however take the top piece off when doing it otherwise it just chars the wicking tube material too badly.

Good luck!

Yeah, I did take off the top piece, but, I think I messed it up by doing that, the wick just almost fell apart. I did the dry burn it after I took the top piece off, but then put it back together, and now it tastes horrible. Still getting good vapor from it, just horrible tasting. I guess I'll just not use the eGo-c for awhile until I either get new atty's or the Stardust. I didn't use it at all today, just used my 21st Century analog look a like. I just fill the cartos with juice and away I go.
