Way to sympathetically hi-jack a thread bullette! lol. :D jk

Yes. I hear atties, cartos can short. Supposedly the wire breaks while hot and then moves and re-connects to another part creating a lower-resistance coil temporarily. So that could be it.

rom... check and clean the connections to be sure. Switch out atty/carto. Anyone know what the 3 blinks means vs another # of blinks?

Do clearomizers cause shorts sometimes? I've never had one (a clearomizer) but I often read of dead batteries & folks using clearos. Is it just a coincidence or could there be a cause?

Edit: sorry for your loss

I've been using clearomizers almost exclusively for about a year now and I've never had one short out or damage a battery.

I've tried 4 different stardusts and a vivi nova, nothing works.
Even if I touch the golden circle in the battery with any metal object, it will blink 3 times.

Could be a short at the connector. If you press the button with no atty/carto attached, does it blink 3 times?

BTW - Touching the center post with a metal object and also touching the threads/shell is a short.

If you mean pushing the center post down causes this... try prying the center post up GENTLY with a paperclip...or get a new device.

QUESTION: Is the vivi nova a 2.5 version, or an earlier version with the long center post?

Johnnymaestro, not sure why that post should be deleted just because it is not a direct answer to the question. There would be a lot of deleted posts if that rule applied. I'm guessing there was more to it than that but your stated reason to delete seems rather odd.

True. But, the person who posted originally with advice to purchase a mod had already made mention of doing so in the first page of posts. Consistently telling the OP that the only solution to the problem at hand is to buy a mod is, well, unproductive, to say the least. :)

OP - where did you purchase this twist? I was thinking of trying one out.

Edit: Plus, his mod advice was a Buzzpro, when in fact, he should of recommended the ProVari, of course! Lolz, j/k.

Off topic, but as far as the post deletion, this is the same thing to me as when DIYers jump into a thread where someone is asking for juice recommendations and tells the OP to just make his own (this happens a lot). Not helpful at all IMO.

Completely agree with you and Levitas. I get miffed when these know-it-alls hop on and blather about what they do. They aren't the least bit interested in solving problems, but rather boasting about their own accomplishments. My only point is I see many similar posts that are not deleted. Perhaps Levitas is right and this guy was going on too long. I'm not being critical of JohnnyMeastro other than I don't understand the reason he booted the comment for the reason he stated. My guess is, there was a very good reason I'm just sensitive to censorship. The other one that gets me is when you visit a thread on a certain topic and then page after page after page they are talking about their dogs or lawnmowers or whatever. Went to one of the supplier forums the other day and there were at least five pages in a row with people doing nothing but saying good morning to each other. A real headshaker!
