Great review Robbie! I've been using mine for a couple of days and really like it alot, still kind of playing with it, as it's my first vv device, so I'm not sure if I know what my sweet spot is! I like how that Stardust looks on there too, keeps it nice and slim looking. I've only ever used cartomizers, do you have any issues with the Stardust?

I like them and use them (obviously!) but they're not everyone's cup of tea. Just get one or two to play around with to see if they're for you. Some people complain of a muted taste or dry hits/lack of wicking when it gets low (or too much wicking and getting juice in the mouth). I think you just need to get used to how it works, when to tip it to "charge" the wicks if its low and not to suck too hard.

I am very interested in this item! I use eGo and kGo's at the moment, but I am curious about VV vaping. Most of the other VV kits/batteries seem expensive and I really don't know a lot about it, but for $30, I think I could take a dip. I just ordered a bunch of Mrs. T's juices, and some LR and SR Stardusts, plus I have extra 510 atomizers lying around, never really occurred to me I could have a whole new setup with just a single battery! How long does the 650mAh battery last? Also, how does this compare to other similar VV batteries around the lower (and higher) price range?

Hey, guys, I got a response from Bruce from COV when I asked about amp limit and his response kind of confuses me. What does this mean to you guys:The amp rate: 1000mah is 4.8/1.5, 650mah is 3.2/2.2

I have to question the numbers he gave you. I don't believe the 1000mah bat is capable of 3.2A safely
1000mah is 4.8/1.5=3.2A 1000mah is 4.8/1.5=15.4W

This second set of numbers doesn't make sense to me
650mah is 3.2/2.2=1.45A 650mah is 3.2/2.2= 4.65W

But I have seen these numbers on one of their charts and find them realistic and reasonable.
650mah is 4.8/2.2=2.18A 650mah is 4.8/2.2= 10.5W

Yeah, I don't think he understood my question really. I'm going to assume it's a 2.5 amp limit like most stuff until proven otherwise. I really want one of those under load meters now just so I can do these tests myself! I could figure out the amps in minutes if I had one, but they're always sold out everywhere! (At least when I look!)

The 650mah lasted me 5 hours 45 minutes at around 4 volts. (My rule of thumb is one hour per 100 mah which gives a VERY rough estimate.) I ordered two 1000 mah (so i can rotate them) and am hoping that one will last a full day.

I think these are very competitively priced but I don't think there is anything really similar to these out there. Other VV at this size and style usually have 3 clicks to toggle between low, medium, high (high being like 4.2v). After that, you get to the battery mods, most of which stack batteries which I try to stay away from.

Firstly you can buy it for $24 delivered from http://www.mikeusa.com/JOYE_EGO_C_TWIST_MANUAL_BATTERY___BLACK__650MAH-details.aspx

If you vape around 1.5 to 2ml a day the battery should get you by for 10 to 15 hours. Charge at night, fresh to go for the day in the morning.

Frankly there is nothing to compare it too, appears it will compete quite successfully with units costing two to three times as much, it's a fantastic little VV unit that anyone can afford for low demand vaping. Just try it, you'll never be sorry, and if you are for some unknown reason you can bench it at $24.

I tried to start a poll earlier, but couldn't get anyones interest in it, so I thought I would ask teh question here. The best person(s) to answer this is one that has experience with both devices. Here goes:

If you had to choose between the ego twist or a 3VO v2.1/EVO v2/SVR, which one would you choose and why?

My thoughts are:

EVO uses separate batteries. I like the fact that I can use one device and just swap them out. I don't need to buy two units. Not too concerned with the stacked model. You can use a single battery as well, but lose the select voltage. However, many mixed reviews on these..

Twist comes from a company that is very well known and people seem to like it. Not many long term reviews yet, as it just came out. The voltages seem spot on.

Have you tried the "10492 Assembled Volt Indicator" from MadVapes?

Have no idea what the 3VO v2.1/EVO v2/SVR is an couldn't find a store to look at it.

If it's in the same price range, buy it. If it's price in the range of the LavaTube or more I suggest you get the Twist for $24 delivered to get some VV experience. It will do an excellent job for most of your vaping needs. You would need to spend two to three times as much to get something that would perform marginally better.

I want to get to 4.2 volts and I don't want a fat mod to carry around all the time. This is why I am considering the twist as an option, or the EVO. Both fit the bill on the size. I am also collecting parts for a box mod. This stuff is way to addicting since I started...lol

How does the Twist compare to the Bolt? I am really interested in the Twist for the price, but I figure if I'm going to get a beginner's VV battery, the Bolt is only slightly more, is it worth it?

They aren't in the same category. Unless I'm missing something the Bolt is a fixed 3.7v mod that is probably very durable but as far as vapor production it's no better than any other 3.7v battery.

If you want a VV unit the twist is amazing for the price. You would have to spend much more to get something comparable in a VV unit.

I have a total of 5 3.7v batteries, one 5v battery, three MadVapes VV box mods, three LavaTubes and VariStack. I have quite a bit of vaping experience with and without VV unit and I can honestly say for a VV starter unit the Twist is probably the best one can do.

If you wanted an inexpensive alternative the VariStack at about $35 delivered plust batteries and a charger would be my next choice. For a low demand VV unit I fell in love with it. Read my review of it at http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...-varistack-vv-mod-working-class-vapers-3.html

I have 5 genuine Joye Egos, 2 are the original ones that I started vaping with 16 months ago and they still work perfectly. I also have an E-power that uses a 14650 battery and it weighs twice as much as the Ego passthrough. So the weight and performance for me is what made me decide to stick with Egos, especially since the new ego twist performs exactly the way as advertised. As soon as I put a cartomizer with my favorite juice on the unit and was able to adjust the voltage to get to that sweet spot that convinced me this is a very sweet PV. I definitely plan on buying several more.

The only drawback that people always bring up is the battery, when it wears out that's it. You need to go buy a new one. I have no problem with that because I believe they are worth the money.

I don't think you'll be disappointed in purchasing one of these, especially if you want to know what your juices tastes like at different voltages. Many taste better at higher voltage and others at lower.
