Ego, Ego T or something else? Need to choose a new PV!

I have a regular Joye 510, and I like it, but there are a few things I don't like. What I don't like about it:

Short battery life, and the harsh throat hit. I also do not like the burned taste that occurs very frequently, even though I clean the atty out, I also clean out the cartos and refill them I use VG liquids in 18 mg strength.

My first question, is reducing the nicotine level help the harshness and burnt taste or would I be better off choosing another level of atomizer? What is the difference between a LR atomizer and a High Voltage Atomizer performance wise.

So, I was thinking of going with an EGO or and EGO T, but the battery ratings are so confusing, and the Ego T has very mixed reviews. DOES it reduce the burned taste?

I think I want an EGO or Riva for battery life, but I am now wondering if I want this level of throat hit. I would like a little more flavor, and a little less throat hit. I switched to the VG liquid because the PG hit so hard it gave me a sore throat. Now I wonder if maybe I just need less nicotine or a lighter atty.

How is it that I have been vaping for several months now, and am somehow more confused then when I bought the first one? LOL

I have the tornado T from Totally wicked (same thing as the ego t) I genreally us 80/20 pg/vg mix in it. I dont usually get the harsh throat hit with it but ocassionally I do. I dont know what causes it especially since it is random when it happens. Sometimes I will get the burnt taste but all I have to do is take a couple cold draws and im good to go. The battery life is pretty good I generally get 8-12 hours out of one battery some times longer. A LR atty uses higher heat and if I remeber correctly it will produce a better vapor but it will drain your battery faster and use more juice. I have not heard of a high voltage atty but I would assume its probley the same general thing. I have noticed for me that a lower nic level gives a lower thoat hit. I dont know if that is an actual fact I just know I noticed that for myself. I started with 36 mg then went down to 24 and just placed an order for 18mg. A LR is a low resistance atomizer so it gets a little hotter faster than a normal resistance one. It doesn't do much other than make the vapour a bit hotter. I like them for strong flvours like tobacco or very strong coffee flavours but they seem to kill sweet flavours to me.

The nic shouldn't be making a burnt taste but it could be irritating your throat. I used 18mg VG for a long time though and had no problem. Just something you need to get used to!

My ego battery lasts me all day but I'm not an all out chain vaper. Compared to the 510 you should really love the longer battery life on the ego. I used a 510 first and "upgraded" to the egoT and never used my 510 batteries again. I did however use the old 510 atties to drip with so it wasn't a total loss.

If you go with the EgoT then because you use VG you might have a wicking problem. I use 100% VG and it does work with the tank but it wicks a lot slower because it's thicker so you have to give it more time to drink the juice in. I use two in rotation because of that and direct drip with a 510 when I'm at home.

The EgoT is really really good for convenience. It lasts all day for me and I only need to fill it once a day because I go through about 1ml a day and carry two on me.

For your 510s, I'd consider dripping onto the atty if you can. I love it with VG. If there's little juice on the coil it buuuuurns your throat and VG is slower to wick. You don't have that option with the EgoT.

I find the EgoT enjoyable as an allround convenient vape but when I get home I'm dripping with my 510 all night. Oh and the Ego is compatable with your 510 atties; you can just stick your old 510s on the bigger battery if you find the tanks atties don't cut it for you.

The burning is a dry Atty/Carto. VG is so much thicker that alone it has problems wicking properly. You may try thinning your juices just a touch and see how that goes. 80/20-70/30 generally do well. Even 50/50 would help. Reducing the nic will help with TH, but I think wicking is your problem, a very common one. The eGo is a great PV, but the T itself tends to lose flavor. You can get a LR Atty for your tank to help with that. I hope things get better for you. Just remember if it's burning it needs more juice.

I have some pg/vg liquid, but it "seems" to be even worse with the burning. I wonder if I need to refill my cartos more often. Maybe I should go get a syringe from the milk room, grind the sharp off and try infusing my cartos that way?

I usually just put three drops on the packing and go....so maybe it is too try. It seems if I do more than that, it gets flooded and I have juice leaking out the end.

With cartos you do have to top off often. Have you tried to condom fill your cartos? That may help. 3drops in the filling is not enough. Are you remembering to prime your Atty too? Just a few drops on the bridge should do the trick. with your carts, are you changing the filler? The filler stops holding juice after so long, you can try using blue foam in them. As a rule of thum, the inside filling should look like a slushy. Lol did you understand my ramblings?

They're meant to be disposable and don't last as long as an atty. I've honestly never used a carto but I've ordered some in to try them out in the name of science. You could buy in some 510 tank atties or 510 atomizers first to see if you prefer it over cartos or not for a less expensive trial. There are carto options for the ego like boge and others, anything with a 510 connection like what you have now will go on the ego.

I do not prime my atty, I will do that. I am thinking now I will get a regular ego, cheaper and sounds like my problems are stupid user error. Well what do you expect from this backwoods hick?

I am filling my carts with blue foam stuff. I am not sure I am putting enough in for one, and I am thinking that I need to make sure to get the liquid all the way down to the bottom. I think priming the bridge is working.

I use the ego-t and the 510 tanks......love both and flavor is great......I just use the reg attys and don't have a burnt taste....I did try a lr atty-t on my ego and it always taste burnt.......I also use 100% vg from velvet vapors.com......it is not thick at all and wicks very well.....I don't do throat hit and this is really smooth and very tasty......I have been using the organic french vanilla and organic caramel and I am in my sweet spot......yum

Wait, maybe I am using the term wrong. I'm talking about the black tip thing that has stuffing in it. Maybe it's a cartridge?

I wash them out every week with a Q tip and hot water. Then I refill them all with the blue foam and it seems to be that the problems I am having is from vaping too fast, too hot and not having enough liquid, except when I have too much and suck it out the end.

LOL I can't believe I am doing so much wrong.

Sounds like you need more power so you don't have to work so hard.....other than tanks (previous post) you could try and ego/riva 510 with cartomizers(atty+cart) in one piece......Sounds like you would be much happier and not have to fill so often.

The Boge carto on an Ego battery is the best taste I've experienced. They are easy to top off. You just pull off the silicone tip and drop a few drops inside. Blow out any excess and vape.

My favorite is still the Ego-T Tank. Leaks can be an issue with certain thin juices, but 70pg/30vg minimizes that well. Taste is just under the Boge carto (when it's new). Even with the Boge, the taste drops off after a few days, but that's when you toss it and open a new one. At 5 for $7.99 the Boge carto is a deal.

Don't sweat it. I think it's an atomizer you have, by the sound of it anyway. A carto is a cartomizer that is all just one piece that screws onto the battery as a 2 piece unit. An atomizer you have the mouthpiece with wadding inside and fill the wadding, then stick it onto the atomizer, so it's a 3 piece unit. All the terms got me at first too. Too many options out there right, and they're all abbreviated.

I had a hard time getting used to my 510 as well but I still use it even with my ego. It's a decent upgrade with the Ego because you can use the 510 stuff with it you have now. Doesn't hurt to have spare stuff around you can use.

What I do with my 510s is ignore the stuffing in the cart. I'll put maybe 5 drops in a totally cleaned out atomizer then leave it for 5 minutes. You'll find everything you put in there is magically gone somewhere inside the atomizer. Then put in around 2 drops and vape. You'll get maybe 10 good draws off that, then you'll know you need to drip again before it gets too hot when one of the vapes near the 10 mark is slightly hotter and closer to that gross charcoal taste.

Before I dripped I filled the cart up like a fiend and wound up having it leak which is never cool. A lot of people say to take the bridge and wick out to drip but I never did with my 510s. If I'm sitting around inside I'll just drop it in there.

I have Ego-T Type B tanks with a low resistance atty. I never get a burnt taste unless my tank is really close to empty. I use 80-20. I love the Ego-T Tpe B tank system. Usually, when I have leaks, I need to use a new tank. I have oredered some of the silicon caps for Type B tanks. That may be like using a new tank by just putting one on.

Oh heck, why didn't I tell you to begin with.......Dump your carts all together. Their just junk and a pain to use. Have you gotten yourself Drip Tips yet? You really need to. You won't have to worry about filler and other junk. Just drip and go, it works so much better. Just dont get the metal ones. They hurt like he'll when you knock your teeth. Plastic is great!

Beans, I have wanted a drip tip. I don't mind just dripping enough for one session.

I am thinking now that I want to use a ego battery with my 510 atomizers, I have three of them. I can get a Tank type one later. I think I'll just get a regular EGO set. Then I can vape in the car and out and about without draining my puny 510 batteries.

I will try the drip tip, and get a set of new mouthpeices or cartridges or whatever they are. The ones I have are inserted into the atomizer.

Now, where is the best place to buy one?

I want a good price, and an excellent warrenty on batteries and other supplies. I had a bad return experience with the last place...don't want that. I want reasonable customer service and people who actually read what I write.

Long story short - I got my starter kit and the charger was DOA. It took me over a week to get them to realize that my batteries were hosed because the charger wasn't working. They would not exchange the two batteries, said they were just fine (they checked them) but they have half life of a third battery I purchased elsewhere. So, I want to order from somewhere that will not jack me around and be stupid. For instance, if I give them my purchase date/name and address they really ought to be able to look up my order.

Maybe I'm picky, but I KNOW what they can and can't do since I make my living designing websites with shopping carts. brother.
