Yep! Humidity...not used to dealing with it. :?:

As far as tips go, I noticed madvapes has some black or stainless tips for the Mega...still waiting for someone to come out with the really cool ones for it though.

I ordered some of these, they should work, though you might have to cut them down. No idea what they are made of, will know in a day or two. He also has Delrin 510 drip tips for $5.99 for a pack of 5. It's annoying to see little plastic drip tips sold at $4 each.

I need to place an order... and it appears everyone has switched to other suppliers?

I ordered 2 from Madvapes, liked them, so I ordered 5 of them. And now I just got my third order, for 5 more. But I haven't used any from that newest batch, so it's possible they won't work well. I haven't had any bad ones, so despite the thread, at this point I'm assuming they'll be fine.

Only have a couple left of Madvapes EMDCC's and have been very pleased with their performance.

What to do...

I think that we all have 3 choices:

eGo Mega Dual Coil Cartomizer Round Tip

eGo Mega Dual Coil 4 ML Cartomizer LR 1.5 Ohm, 5 Pack - E Cig : Joye eGo & eGo-T | Boge Leo | Cartomizers | E-Liquid | Electronic Cigarette | eGo Tank

510 Ego Mega Dual Coil Cartomizer - 1.6 ohm, 4.5ml, - Black w/tip

1 - MadVapes - the originals were great, but there have been problem reports of various kinds with the latest batches. The cartomizers have been changed according to numerous users, but MadVapes denies this. I don't know if they are attempting to address reported problems or not.

2 - VapingZone - the last batches were pretty good, but there were several problem areas reported (i.e. didn't screw all the way on, chemical taste reported by some). They went back to the drawing board and made some changes to address the problems and the reports so far on the latest batches are good so far,

3 - SmokTek - I've been testing several for a couple of days so far. First, I can't tell any difference between the current SmokTek and the original MadVapes that got the EMDCC craze started. They look the same and perform the same so far. I obviously don't know anything about longevity yet, but the overall performance is great so far.

I have cartos from all 3, and I'm trying to be fair in testing and comparing them. Please note: all I have right now are the original EMDCCs from MadVapes, the originals from VapingZone, and the current crop from SmokTek. I read that someone else is already trying the new and improved ones from VapingZone, so maybe we'll have enough information soon to see where we want to spend our money.

I just got a few more the other day. I'm perfectly pleased with them. In fact, I threw in with a couple of friends on a substantial juice and carto order. Both of my pals are pleased with them too.

There's a lot to like about the vaping zone version, too. They perform well. - My take on the difference is this: The vaping zone version has an easier draw than the madvapes smoke techs. The vaping zone version produces a little more vapor (they test a couple of tenths of an ohm lower so they run a little hotter). The madvapes smoke techs produce better flavor and they hold up longer. The smoke techs handle 100% VG better than the vaping zone version, but take a little while to break in when you're using 100%VG (a couple of fills before they really get going).

They're both very good.

I am currently rotating two EMDCCs from Vaping Zone. These are the newest batch sent to me for testing. They are back to what they should be thus far. I'm about a week rotating the two with no breakdown in performance yet at all. They hit like a freight train, taste marvelous and produce clouds of vapor. Back is the old familiar viper-like hiss when you push the power to 'em, and they almost seem to push billows of vapor into your mouth with a very easy draw. If you haven't tried 'em yet...I suggest you do.

Good to see people are still happy with Madvapes, as well as people happy with the competition EMDCC's.

Glad to hear back from ya Six... After all you're the one who initially started this thread. I'm going to place another order with Madvapes. I still vape 100% VG and their EMDCC's seemed to perform for me.

Again... I appreciate all the replies. Makes for a great forum!!! :)

I have a Tornado Tank from Totally Wicked, which I believe is the equivalent of the ego-T. Dumb question - will the EMDCC from Madvapes work with the battery?

I bought the mega dual coil cartomizers from TW and they work well, but are a bit more expensive at 3 for 12.99.

Not a dumb question at all. The answer is yes though. It will work. The TW stuff is just rebranded eGo.

I prefer the VZ ones (well the new batch at least) for the fact they last longer than overnight. Seemed the old ones would be good for a few hours then while I was asleep the cartomizer gremlins would come out and take a steaming hot sour demon crap in them. I'm sure a lot of people check for this in the morning but I wasn't aware that they were real and would be greeted with a mouthful of wet taco style fart flavored gremlin fecal matter in my mouth. Anyways, I digress...

I actually came here just now to ask if anyone is familiar with a Kgo friendly button protector on the market? I seem to recal seeing something like that months ago but can't remember where?
