Well, it worked so well I tried it again and trashed a coil.

Oh, well. If you don't break something occasionally you're not trying hard enough :D

yup ... you can't push the pc tools thru! sorry ... i haven't trashed one yet using this method. you can't let the hole close up too much and try this.

update: i was just getting ready to pull the filler material from that emdcc i thought i'd trashed in one day, and thought i'd give clearing the center opening one more try (was completely closed) ... and it worked!! i had to push the coils aside (gently) to get the paper clip through, but both coils are firing! lol unbelievable. :)

how many days are you getting with bobas? im also curious what juices you guys are using to get 2 or 3 weeks out of the same carto. (i am getting my cartos tomorrow).
is it safe to assume that these cartos last just as long as boges? have any of you used boges and made the switch to these cartos and noticed a long life? (with the same juice used in both)

I had bobas in one for about a week. BWB Applewood (70/30 PG/VG) went forever. I use boge 2.8 ohm at 5.0v, 2.0 ohm at 4.4v, and 1.8 ohm at 3.7v regularly and some last a couple of weeks and some last a few days. The emdcc's will last as long and longer if you keep the center channel clear.

This is new info and may be the best emdcc tip of the week. Thanks VeggieGirl and Six for pointing this out. Keep the center tube clear.

It's true for pretty much all filler cartos. Occasionally, though, there can be plugging at the bottom where the air holes go side to side through the cartos connector. I've used a small sewing needle a few times to clear those two little holes and wiggle it up and down a bit to clear soaked filler from the area.

I use a long hat pin type needle to help clear out stuff in the middle of the carto. Haven't lost one yet!

right ... along with the smaller needle that six mentioned, i'd think that some type of longer, more sturdy needle (upholstry?) would be idea, tool! :) sure wouldn't bend as much as the paper clips, but the paper clip bending a little comes in handy, too. if we keep this up, we'll have a regular assortment of tools for our emdcc toolbox.

Has anyone had a new emdcc that just seemed weak? A couple days ago I filled a new emdcc with my standard liquid and it just doesn't produce much flavor or vapor. I'd say it hits about 60% compared to previous emdcc's I've used. Airflow seems normal. Ohms measure 2.0. I put it on my VV box and cranked it up a little. Vapor was warmer but not better. Suggestions?

Thanks, JJ

I've had one or two that fresh out of the wrapper didn't seem to vape as well as others. Since yours rings out the same as the others it may be something to do with the filler or the fact that it's new and needs to be topped off more? IDK for sure why.

Has anyone ordered the new style yet with the round tips? I'll be saving my whistle tips from the dead ones, I don't like rounded tips for these. Tried 'em with the mega drip tip and put the flat one back on after a few hits. Why do folks always try to improve on things that are already perfect? Any other noticeable differences? Do they work as well? I also see they are branded now with a logo I can't make out from the pic on MV.

These EMDCCs are awesome to me, in that I'm blind in one eye. Depth perception plays a big role in dripping to top-off a carto. I've been a steadfast DC user since reading Stownz review of them. These take the cake, because I'm not ripping down the outside of the tube lol. The fitment issue is something that detracts, but I can get over it with a second or two on the dremel. I have several 510 extenders, so I _an use these on my VV box. That's where the fun is. If you've only used these on an eGo, you're missing the game. I like my juice @ 4.2-4.8v. I use one flavor which is based in Bluemist's 100% VG DK Tobacco Type 36mg (extra flavor). I add a couple DIY flavors, Stevia and some unflavored PG + PGA to bring the nic down to 16mg. PM me for my recipe. It's a heavenly, all-day vape =)

None the less, the EMDCCs has been going strong with nothing more than topping-off for almost 2 weeks of 3-5ml/day. The draw seems to be getting tighter, but I intend on running a paperclip in to clear some gunk from the airway to see if this helps. Will check back later...

I've been using the same one since madvapes released these. I haven't cleaned it yet and still don't need to.

Can anyone tell me how to use a meter to check them? I have one but have no clue how to use it. Where do I set the dial and touch red lead to what and black to what? Thanks in advance.
Not sure if you got this figured out yet... Do you have a digital or analog meter? It's been so long since I used an analog... I'm not much help there.

But if you have a digital meter, set it to the Kohm setting and touch the leads together - it should read 00.0 (or close to zero). Then touch one lead to the center and one to the threads. If it's working, you should get a reading somewhere 1.6 to 1.8 if both coils are firing (any variance may be due to the meter and or connection with the test leads). If only one coil is firing, it will be approximately double - around 3.2 or higher. Substantially higher or lower values may indicate failure of the carto or problems with the tester, leads or connection of the leads to the carto.

It really doesn't matter which lead is where when measuring resistance just as long as they're touching clean metal and not touching each other.

Thank you Marb...they are reading good so far at 3 or so weeks of usage.

I had one that did this but with some usage, it seems to have gotten better. Keep using it for a day and see if it improves.

Depth perception plays a big role in dripping to top-off a carto.

The draw seems to be getting tighter, but I intend on running a paperclip in to clear some gunk from the airway to see if this helps.

i forgot my own rule of checking to see that the carto isn't becoming blocked each time i top it off(!) ... vaped a fairly new emdcc until the draw got way too tight. i had to start with the sharp point of a large safety pin, then go to the small paper clip, and rock that around a little, before i could get the larger paper clip to slide (waggle) thru. it worked, tho, and i have air flow again, and am happily vaping some of my "home brew." i'm just getting started on mostly diy vg juices and am loving it ... using tpa flavors! i'll reap the savings reward later, i'm sure. i totally agree that 4.2-4.8v on the vv box seems to be working for me, too. also, i'm vaping about 5 ml a day (or more) ... a good enough reason for diy juices. the other reason is to be able to make the flavors i love. i'm into chocolate anything but mint, and i'm using cotton candy and ethyl maltol for sweetener. i've been doing quite a bit of reading in the "guide to diy flavoring," and have had some great diy advice from gooddog!

i totally undetstand about the vision and depth perception problem. i have about 90% monocular vision, myself, at about 20/40, or maybe worse by now, in my best eye. i use the mega drip tip but not to drip. i take the drip tip off and sometimes still end up with juice running down the outside of the tube. lol it's not much fun, i know, but it sure is a lot better than trying to fill those tiny little cartos i started with a few months back. lol one more point: when the filler hole gets too closed up in the emdcc, i have to use a loupe to even see the darned thing, so it's back and forth between holding the loupe and the pc tools! that's only when i let the draw get way too tight, tho. guess i'm trying to say that i can identify with what you wrote. :)
