So I recently purchased an eGo. This was an upgrade (supposedly) as I was previously using the South Beach Smoke. I liked it, but it burns hot. It really started to irritate my throat. I know that it is not a juice problem b/c I refilled some of my South Beach carts with the same juice I used in the eGo.

No, I am using the South Beach setup and refilling their carts using the 'condoms' (rubber stoppers) that come on the new carts.

My question is: Am I maybe just using a bad type of cart on my eGo, or do all eGos burn hot? I have tried multiple cartos to make sure I didn't just get a bad one. I was using the ones that came with the starter kit.

Maybe I am just more of an 808 type smoker??

My next move is to go to my local vape shop and see if they can hook me up with some better 808 batteries and carts so I can stop hacking the South beach ones.

Sorry, I am new so I dont know a lot of the technical lingo. Maybe there is a certain resistance I like? Does anyone know the resistance of the South Beach?

If you plan on sticking with 808's, check out Smokeless Image or NHaler. They seem to have good stuff.

I can't really speak about your issues with the eGo, sorry. The only things I can think of is a low resistance carto or a dual coil carto would probably produce a hotter vape. I've only used 808's myself.

Good luck.

The resistance on the cartos might be too low for the voltage coming out of the eGo. If the resistance is too low you'll burn the coils out, and/or burn the filler material in the cartomizer which will give a nasty burnt taste. You could have some bad cartos. I'm assuming you got a pack of 5. Did you try all five and have the problem with all of them?

I looked around and couldn't find anything on the resistance of the south beach cartos.

what kind of eGo is it? if it's a standard eGo battery then you may just want to bump up resistance to get a cooler vape....to tell what resistance cartos you are using now, you can use a standard multimeter.

however, if you want an 808 threaded eGo style battery, the X2 from smokeless image is exactly that.

Most people don't have access to a multimeter you know.

If you want to continue using the eGo, look for some 2.5-3.0 ohm carts. The X2 Volt from Smokeless Image is a 3.75 volt battery(I think?) with 3.0 ohm carts and it doesn't run hot in the least.

if they don't have access to a multimeter, they can get access really quickly with ten minutes, ten bucks, and a trip to harbor freight.....ijs.
