Many people use screw drivers to wind their wire. I use a 14 gauge blunt tip luer lock needle. (the green one)So perhaps 2.5mm diameter coil would fit?
Lots of people use premade coils for these. Sure saves a lot of headaches with such small wire. The CLR coils will come with a coil installed. All you have to do is wick it with cotton/rayon and add ejuice. The coils last a long time so that will give you time to look for premade, if that would be your preference.14 gauge is 1.63mm. Oh boy, need to find this.
It sure is/was for me. I think once you actually try the supplies you have purchased you will find just how easy it is. Now once you have tried an ejuice and if you wish to change flavors using the same coil, just remove the used cotton/rayon and clean the coil with very short fire button pulses to help burn off the old juice. Doesn't take much.I think pre made is the way to go for me. I will wait for the coils so I can estimate the size and look for the right one from FT.
Let me see if I can find a link for you. I ordered a bunch a while ago but have to look it up. lolAny particular replacement coil you have found on FT?

Early on, I bought them at 'KidneyPuncher', but they now only have the 14g at 1" long. You need at least a 1 and a half inch length...14 gauge is 1.63mm. Oh boy, need to find this.
2.5 mm internal diameter is a perfect fit for the CLR.So perhaps 2.5mm diameter coil would fit?
I do 5 wraps on a 2.5mm mandrel with 30 gage, and that's with slightly spaced coils and I could get another wrap in there if I wanted to.

I've only bought 0.5 ohm coils.More import to your satisfaction with the CLR coil is probably going to be how you like your air draw. The CLR coils have different post hole sizes. The 1 ohm coil has a 1.8 mm air hole. the .5 ohm coils have 3.5 mm air holes.
Picture is of regular cl coils but the same applies to CLR coil

These coils will last a long time. Some are still using their original ones after months, by just rewicking and taking care of the coil.
Whatever works for you. LOL I do rewick and it only takes a couple of mins. Super easy. One trick I use is instead of just trying to pull out the old wicking intact (which could distort the coil and you don't want that) is I cut one side as close to the coil end as possible, then pull it out from the uncut side. No coil distortion and it slides right out. The amount of cotton needed to rewick is so little you will wonder if it will really work. lol. Cut the ends of new wick as close to the coil housing as possible leaving just a smidge of cotton stuck out the end but just barely. Fluff the end of the cotton up to fill in the slot and you are good to go for another month or so.I, personally...because of ineptness (and laziness)...use a CLR from the blister pack...then after 4-5 weeks...throw it into a baggie to rewick "later"...
The price on FT goes down to $7.13/5-pack when you buy 5...
(And I never forget...if I hadn't run across ECF...[I LOVED smoking]...at today's prices I'd be paying at least $12/day for analogs...without even thinking twice about it...)
