I am brand new to vaping. I have used my buddie's Modern Vapor Sidesho on numerous occasions. Personally I hate what he has. It wasn't until he picked up some off brand tank cartomizer that I actually enjoyed using his sidesho. The regular small cartridges that come with the sidesho are crap IMO(burning taste, very very harsh throat hit). Hanging out with him for the night, I would watch him fill up all five of his cartridges, and then go through about 3 of them, and both batteries (not to mention he has had it for 4 months and already had 2 batteries go bad). I don't want that. I want something that I can fill in the morning, throw the battery on and not have to worry about it for a long time (if at all for the rest of the day). I have done my research, I was about to pull the trigger on a Gripper VV but decided I didn't want the bulk of it, plus the expense of the AW batteries made it a bit more expensive than I wanted to spend starting out.

So now I am at a crossroads. I have decided that I would prefer something VV, and I like the eGo line for the most part. Now my past history has shown that I will usually just buy all three and compare them with my own terms and then buy another of whichever one I like, but I figured it was probably worth it to at least see what more experienced individuals might have to say about the matter.

  • 900mah eGo-C Twist
  • 650mah SLB eGo-V
  • 1100mah Vision Spinner

Am I just wasting my money by buying one of each and testing them on my own terms? Any one that is going to be better than the other? The SLB eGo-V already has my eye as it has the pass through capability which would be nice to have that option at my desk at work (even though I plan on having 2-3 batteries so I shouldn't necessarily need the pass through). And I like the LCD screen to show me the battery/volt info.

Also I was thinking about picking up a replaceable stardust, a Mini VIVI Nova and a Kanger T2 and seeing which one I like best. Is this a good idea? anyone of them worth skipping over?

I am also open to all suggestions. I am looking at spending around $100 without my fluid (For fluid I will probably buy local from Vermillion River Juice). I just want something that will last me as long as possible, preferably with VV so I can adjust it to fine tune my sweet spot with different flavors/mixtures, and doesn't leak like a sieve.

I did search but didn't find the answers I was looking for. So sorry in advance for any ignorance displayed.

I don't like the power/fire button on the SLB. A 650mAh VV will probably not last all day.
The 1000mAh EGo would be a better choice than the 900mAh Ego.
The 1100mAh Spinner is also a good choice.

Hi Awkwardly, First Welcome to the ECF. Good body of research as you have found three respected options in the new VV revolution. Lets talk about this. I see the devices you have shown in the first post are all different capacity. Is there a reason for this choice? I would advise you to compare the apples to apples portions alone. The spinner and twist are adjustable from 3.3(ish) to 4.8 volts. The ego-v is adjustable from 3 all the way up to 6 volts. Win here goes to the eGo-v for me personally. On the other front of mis-matched mAh I would advise you to take a good hard look at the overall length of all these devices. Once you personally decide just how big is too big this will narrow your choices further. If you can vape comfortable the 1000 sized twist at almost 120mm in length, plus the carto/tank/atty being around 40mm plus a driptip of some kind being another 10mm or so you will have a device thats ~ 170mm(~6.7inches) assembled.... I would lean hard toward as much capacity as you can deal with comfortably. I believe that the more capacity We Vapers can have on hand in our devices the better Our overall experience is. Less Stress for having to charge/recharge consistantly is enough to convert an impatient vaper back to analogs........

All three devices would be a great place to start your personal journey into vaping. I have no horse in this race but the overall plus, plus, plus for me is the high capacity eGo-v with 1100mAh capacity and the widest voltage range of 3-6volts..... I would think that if you do pickup all three the real ascertainable useable difference would soley be their differences in mAh, not much more than that. Yes the SLB has a bit more upper level voltage but being a new vaper it is doubtful that most would be using the upper spectrum of the device right out of the gate, but it is there should you want to venture into the realm of high voltage vaping. I have a twist, a few 4v eGo clones and quite a bit of devices that will do efficiently regulated 6.5v that I personally built. I rarely find the need to exceed 5.3v with any of my devices even above 3Ω with nic levels below 4mg to get a satisfying vape. Let us know what you decide, we will be rooting for you. Good Luck. Happy Vaping.

here's a review of another ECF'r on the Spinner. He also has a twist, and he compares them. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...5905-visions-ego-vv-spinner-gotvapes-usa.html

I think either way you go you will be happy. Also they have Spinners that are 1300mah, and they are like $1-2 more. You will also probably want at least 2 of whatever, so maybe get 1 of each? Always good to have 2 because when you are charging one you can still vape.....or if one dies.

Welcome! I've been vaping for 6 months and have been through a couple 3.7v box mods before i bought my main PV now, the VV gripper, which I agree with you, kinda awkward in my pocket with a vivi nova on top.

I just ordered the SLB and im hoping it's a solid backup while I charge my 18650 battery, and battery life shouldn't be an issue since i'd probably be using it mostly at home as a passthrough. (you ARE talking about the passthrough one, right?? assuming, lol)

I have the Kgo twist and provari. A lot depends on how much you smoked and what your finances are. If a heavy smoker and money is no object get a provari. If you are a mod smoker and want to get an all day vape with a good battery that is unregulated get a Kgo. Hits at 3.7v and is a workhorse batt, now one of my backups. If you like the idea of trying vv get the twist or spinner. Use a vivi nova tank and with any of them you will be happy. Personally I don't like being tethered to anything with a passthrough, but I suppose its nice to have. Have heard a lot of button issues with the new Kgo so waiting to see if there is an upgrade.

Have a couple Joye twist, and a SLB ego-V, all 650mAh. They all work fine/similar. Love the screen to set the voltage on the SLB, hate the fire button, and the reverse on the Joye twists. The Vision spinner looks like it'll function just like the twist, so I haven't got around to getting one.

So far, the 650 mAh lasts for a good night out, and that's good enough for me.

Can't recommend the VV gripper, however.

900mah eGo-C Twist
I own the 650 and 1000. Dial very narrow/ smooth and not easy to turn. Voltage numbers very hard to read/ invisible. Button occasionally sticks.
650mah SLB eGo-V
I own it. Do not like the button/ band of cheap rubber. Also, as PBusardo points out in the vid review below, it is not a true pass through. When plugged into a wall outlet power is not provided directly- it's only provided to charge the battery. Also the "sweet spot" for most vapers is 4.5 volts so highly unlikely you'll go above 4.8 volts IMO.

1100mah Vision Spinner
I own 2 X 1300 mah Spinners and love them. Smaller in length than the 1000 Twist. Wide knurled voltage dial easy to turn and easy to read voltage markings.
1300 Spinner- Length- 113mm/ Diameter- 16mm
900 Twist- Length- 111mm/ Diameter 14mm

Here's a review on the Spinner:

I have 2 Ego-C twist 1100 Mah batteries, and two Vivi Nova 2.5v tanks. One charged battery lasts me 2 days, and a full tank lasts me about a full day. I am impressed with both. High Dessert Vapes has the batteries for $19.99 a piece. Sure Vapes has the Vivi Novas for about $9.99 if they are still on sale. you could get 2 of each for $60.00 plus shipping/taxes. Great prices in my opinion.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I think I am just going to skip over the SLB and the eGo-C Twist for now. So I am going to pick up two 1100mah Vision Spinners (I would get 1300mah but finding them in a chrome finish in stock is proving difficult), two Mini Vivi Nova's, and a charger for now. This should set me up for a little while.

Out of all the carto's and tanks I have tried I love the nova (both mini and full size) the best. Stardust are ok but I really dislike carto's

As for battery so far I have regular ego's which are ok. and a ego twist that is great, I have ordered both a vision spiner and a 650mah SLB eGo-V to try out soon.

Make sure you get the Mini Vivi Nova (2.0 ml) as it fits much better than the regular 3.5 ml. and if you get the extra heads for the Vivi 2.4 ohms provides for the widest range of voltage- 1.8 ohms- 3.3-4.0 volts...2.4 ohms- 4.0-4.8 volts.

Well I went down to Vermillion River Juice today, and I picked up two 1000mah eGo-C Twists in stainless with two rebuild-able clearomizers. I am soo happy I found this place. I was much happier getting to see the twist in person before pulling the trigger. I am really happy with the setup so far. I also got their KY4 and KMax flavors of juice. The KY4 is awesome (their version of RY4). Once again thanks to everyone for the guidance.

I have the SLB VV on a Vivi Nova 3.5 tank and LOVE IT! I just ordered the sleeve that will cover the eGo threads and set off the complete look. My only complaint matches everyone else; the firing button. While I like the fact that a flush button means I don't have to turn the device on and off every time I put it in and out of my pocket I would have loved for them to put a small nipple on it so it was more tactile to find.

Been thinking of making my own "nipple" for it, maybe some kind of glue that I could place on top of it that would raise it up just a touch. Anyone have any ideas on what I could use that wouldn't destroy or weaken the rubber that is on it? Was thinking hot glue would work if it didn't melt the rubber underneath but not sure how strong the hold or how well it would stay would be. I just want something that allows my finger to find it as it slides across the rubber ring so I know I'm in the correct spot to fire it. As I said I like the fact that it is recessed as opposed to sticking out like a standard eGo firing button.
