UPDATE: I took the suspect tank to work with me, and there was absolutely no leaking. It was even in the side pocket of my cargo pants and I walk a lot during my shift at work, so it was jostled about quite a bit. The flavor was spot on, and there were no surprises, although I kept looking at the tank expecting it to gush liquid at a moments notice.

I'm not certain what caused the leak the day before. Perhaps the base wasn't as tightly sealed as it should have been; perhaps the wicking got moved about or my fill cap became dislodged... don't know.

I just kept my juice flow control cracked (using a 50/50 in here) and nothing, not even condensation. So I'm writing this off as new user error.
Hopefully it'll stay that way. I'm kind of wanting to add one of these to my arsenal but i knokw i wouldnt hear the half of it from my other half unless i waited a little while since my last vape purchase (but otoh happy wife = happy life lol

I'm glad you got the issue resolved Jeff. The only issue I had with mine was my own stupidity.

I filled it at work once, and went downstairs to Vape. By the time I got downstairs, half the juice had leaked into the afc. I realized the top cap was cracked, so it was leaking.

Totally user error on my part.

I closed the juice control off, and blew all the juice out from the afc, and all was good.

Well, I now have two of these. One with a .85 24g build, and my latest, with a 26g 1.2 ohm build. (both 3mm)
The flavor is excellent on this tank, I am strictly a mtl vaper, so that is what I build for. This tank has it.

I initially had leaking issues similar to what has been covered here, it is solved by keeping the juice control almost all the way closed. If you start to experience any gurgling, close the juice control right away! Blow out the air vents, then you will be ok. Great tank, great flavor.

Is there a trick for consistent wicking in the 25-35 Watt range? I have tried more cotton, less, longer, shorter, fluffed, pushed in and the results are always the same -- a couple of good hits after a couple of primer puffs and then it can't keep up - starts to dry hit. With a loose/short wick the priming flooded it and it leaked a bit. Really like the design of the tank but haven't been able to figure out how to to wick for a moderate power range. I am sure it is just me....looking for any pointers!

Are you using cotton? What coil are you running in it?

Re: leaking; I think you need to cut your wicks at an angle so that the bottom of the wick is longer than the top. Then tuck the bottom in the bottom of the juice flow so that all of the wick is completely flush with the base. That way you will have plenty of wick to block off the juice channel. Just have to be sure that it is flush so that the wick isn't dislodged by the juice control.

Couldn't edit...I have put in TI, SS316, and NiFe52 coils not that that makes much difference.
I use SS 316L 3mm 9 wraps spaced coil. Pretty much spans the deck. Normal snug cotton wick trimmed flush to the chimney. I tried contact coils but wasn't as satisfying to me. The spaced coil seems to wick better more even heat distribution and smoother IMHO. This has been my standard setup for the past week and its performing flawlessly. I run between 25 - 30w

So I received mine today, and have now built it twice. My experience was quite interesting to say the least...

In my first build I used 26g Kanthal because I wanted to experiment with a wire I have plenty of before trying a stainless build. I wrapped a large number of times to get the coil approximately as wide as the one that comes installed. I tried to measure the tails to the length of the original coil as well, but turns out with 26g they have to be longer... My coil was quite close to the air inlet. I was expecting leaking from reading on this thread, so I left the wicks a little long. I believe that one side caught the chimney and pulled over a little. This is when I reassembled the tank, and being excited, decided to fill it without closing the juice flow. BAD IDEA. One of the bigger juice disasters I've ever had.

My second build, again using 26g kanthal, I did fewer wraps and made sure the coil tails were long enough to raise the coil higher. I cut the wicks just a little past even with the chimney, and then juiced them and tucked them down into the channels so they were flush with the edge of the build deck. Filling it correctly this time, I only have the juice flow open to where they form a circle on the edge of the kidney shape. Getting no leaking yet (fingers crossed) and it's keeping up with me vaping quite a bit. The flavor is pretty good, but as others have said, I think it would improve with a spaced coil. The coil has to be so long that I don't think even a 3mm piece of cotton can take that much heat.

A few lessons I learned:

Definitely soak and rinse this thing a few times before you build it. The first build I did (after it stopped leaking) had a nasty machine oil taste, as others have said.

When removing the tank section the first time, be extremely careful. The O-rings on this thing have very close tolerances, and I ended up cracking my first clear section. I am pretty sure it isn't glass, but I have literally never cracked one before, so this was a surprise for me.

The chimney piece that goes over the build deck should not provide that much resistance when you're screwing it down. In my first build it was a pain, and low and behold there was cotton sticking out into the threads.

Now that it's working, I'm getting a nice warm vape with nice thick vapor, and pretty good flavor. More experiments to come!

I will probably do the same build using SS if mine ever makes it here! It's been stuck on "Origin Post is Preparing Shipment" since 2/5, I ordered from FastTech on 1/31! Looks like it finally made it to NY tonight.

Are you running the SS in TC mode?

I was running in power mode but I recently decided to try TC again and now I'm hooked SS has given me a more satisfying vape in TC than I ever got with ni200 or Ti. I tried kanthal again just for comparison and could not believe the difference. The flavor just zings on SS It's easier to build with and I don't seem to need as high a temperature to get a warm flavorful vape. Also seems more stable IMHO. And it works great with the bachelor.

That's very promising! I've given up on any kind of TC, never felt I was getting a satisfying vape. But since trying a SS (prebuilt) coil in TC mode I was convinced to give TC another chance. Now I'm just waiting for SS and the tank to get here so I can try it...

Well, the tanks came today.
After a quick bath for one of them, I looked over the instruction manual that came with it and filled it.
Filling is fine, no mess. Likely better/easier than my Crown.
Vape. That took a bit of adjusting to be happy with.
I had been using a Crown with a SS430, 28 GA, 8 wrap, at .95 ohms. I used the standard setting at 20 J 390 F for a happy vape.
This tank and the monster coil in it take 30 J and the powerful setting to achieve a happy vape.
So far, no leaks! That is with DIY 40% PG 60% VG juice.

My take on the tank with one tank through it are:
- Looks good, has a great fit and finish.
- Seems like coil building and wicking should be easier than the STM or Crown.
- Airflow is fine, I don't notice any difference from my Crowns.
- Top fill seems to be well thought out. Easy and clean with my squeeze bottle.
- Nice user manual. I've not had a tank with juice control before.
- Wish they had included an extra top fill gasket.

Thanks to those who insisted I wash the tank before using it!
Off to vape now, just wanted to post some initial thoughts.

What gauge SS 316L do you use? I have 28 and 26, think I'm going to try 26 first. It seems like with 9 wraps that would be the only way to get the coil wide enough for this beast.
