Make sure the tank is screwed down tight. Look for any damage on the orings like cuts or tears. There are replacements for them..
Ecf- I found the oring I was missing, so I did receive both base orings.

The top base oring is the primary seal, the bottom seal is secondary. But I think if the primary leaks the secondary seal at the bottom will allow some weepage because the bottom oring is at the set screws, and unsupported in that area..

You upper base oring probably got scored the first time it was taken apart.. It's really tight and in use you want to make sure it's always lubed and push the base in first, till it stops, before you screw it in or it will tear the oring on the threads again.

Based on the picture, you don't have enough wicking filling the slots. They should be completely full from top to bottom, and sticking out a smidge past the edge of the base.

Much clearer! I did not want to take them out just yet. It has been sitting aside for several days as I researched and just thought on it. Been reading through this entire thread and just needed the final bit. I've probably taken it apart 47 times by now. I don't anticipate seeing any damage to the o-rings since my trifocals have bifocals.

VaPreis, I was thinking the name German, but seems strange. ??

Partially right.....

The "Preis" is a portion of my German last name.....I added the "va" when I joined ECF because I thought it would come across as "Vaporize".

Fail. ;)

Ok you guys and girls.....

I am in!!!!

Welcome to the club!

Mine is supposed to arrive today or tomorrow (supposed to have been shipped yesterday) ... but sadly, I don't have any clapton coils readily available, and I don't want to cough up 3-5 dollars shipping fee for a 2 dollar purchase ... so I guess I'll have to experiment with the good old kanthal for the meantime.

6.5v....dang!!!! That's impressive.

Cotton could probably handle around 6 then you think?

If the stars align.. Or you can pull really hard. lol..

I'm vaping 90% vg. I had it up to 7 for a while lung hits. I go 45w when I want a stiff vape... Had it up to 50w before but that was a little overkill for me. Lol

Just vaping the FEV right now, drilled to 3mm, Fresh Rayon hitting it at 6.7, 45w. Can vape it at 7v, but more than I need. Between the two atties it's close, the 2yr old FEV still holds its own ground handles the power and flavor is better still..

Need to put a 2.5mm coil in the bachelor for an equal comparison. Both at same. 95 ohms but with a 3mm in the bachelor currently, still first build and wick in there. The bachelor flavor improves if air is turned down to about half but the power capacity is reduced a little.

Yesterday I dropped a 26g 2.5mm, 1.1ohm coil in - wicked with rayon. Vaped it at 50w, 7.5v all day yesterday. Just shot the wick pics today.

One thing that irks me a bit is with the 26 the legs will want to move a little when you tighten them. I was hoping for no leg movement with this, but it's not too bad. What I do is see which way the leg is going to move then hold the coil mandrel to the opposite side against the slot then tighten and it will sit straighter. I do this for each side while tightening.

Oh she does get a little whistling at 50w with those big lung pulls. Oh, I see I have the air at 50% right now, she handles it with a warm more flavorful vape. With the air open fully it's not as noisy, not as warm of course.

on the bachelor deck there are two little holes right near one of the coil post holes. i've found that the wick must not touch them or the tank will leak. what are these holes for and where do they go?
cheech !
could not picture what you ment had to open myne up.
had a little leaking on it to after my last rewicking.
just redone the wick on it and make sure it did not touch the two posts with the small holes in it .
pushed a sewing needle in the holes ..cant tell you where they are going either !
you are right .. no more small leak
I just wonder if we plug those holes with a toothpick we will soon find out what they are for lol

I got it all sorted. I have a lot of RTAs and this is the first one that REQUIRED lubing the o-rings. Great RTA.

hi frenchfry
agreed the o rings need lubing .
I have a problem with intermittent leaks ...some times for no apparent reason it starts leaking and then for no apparent reason stops . suspect some damaged o rings somewhere . or even missing one !
it would be so nice if manufactures would have a drawing to show where o rings have to go and show what size they are. when cleaning a tank its so easy to lose one , especely the thin clear ones .
have a 2nd one coming and will dissect it carefully and note where they are before cleaning .
are we having fun jet ?
