Just got an order from fastech and another from focalcig I will think twice about ordering from either company again. fastech I ordered a 3 pc kuro coil winder set, who ever machined the 2.5 coiler must have been hungover. The 2.5 is the 1 I would use the most I ordered a kf v4 from focalcig and it is missing a part, the ring retainer for the coil base making it unusable.
Oh that's not good. I do hope Focalcig makes it right when you notify them!

The Subtank mini has great flavor with the 1.2 ohm Vertical cotton coilss and the RBA (but spitted a bit at times), not so good with the 1.5 ohm horizontal coils which were terrible to me, not sure if i got a bad batch or old or what (they were authentic, I verified them). The Kayfun Lite V2 clone has AMAZING flavor. How's that? haha. I probably won't pick up the Subtank mini again unless I get bored and have plenty of time on my hands to continue to try to figure out why I get juice leaking out the air hole after the second day when vaping 70pg/30vg juice, at 12W (the minimum on the stock coils, but I get leaks on the deck as well). Give me a few days with the KFL V2, I am sure I will have to learn more about wicking it, etc., but my first build has the best flavor, and its vaping smooth at 6W. That's the lowest power I have ever vaped at since ego style things :D

Yeah, there's some magic going on with those Kayfuns. I like the simplicity of the Subtank building deck--mainly the fact that you don't have to struggle with coil legs while installing the coil--but I haven't gotten one yet.

My KF4 is over engineered and cumbersome and comes with 739 small parts. but I love it.

With that thin of a liquid, you have to add more wicking to stop the leaks. I use too much so I get dry hits a lot. I've never had success using Japanese cotton to wick an ST Mini.
Yes, you're on to something, I just haven't achieved it yet Lynn. My last build my subtank mini RBA, I really packed the deck with a serious amount of cotton, and that didn't help. Those huge wick holes in the RBA can don't help the issue. That's one thing I like about my KFL V2, it has really small juice channels, far more suited for my thin juice. In fact, the amount of cotton I have on the deck right now is rather light (still learning how to use that wispy KGD cotton haha), so if that doesn't leak, nothing will, we shall see :p

I hope it works!! You sound like me with my Lemo Drop until a friend showed me a trick with the wicking that finally worked.

Alas...alack. I apparently got a box of clones, or am having some seriously bad luck with my 1.5 GS air coils. I bought several boxes recently, trying to "stock up". I can't be sure which box came from where anymore, but I'm surely hitting on a bad run! For every "good" one I find these days, another 2 are not good at all...bad taste, even with careful and repeated priming. I don't know. But I sure am discouraged! I think I might have to learn to re-coil my own. I'm getting a far too big a stack of "bad" coils to send to anyone for re-coiling at this point! Can anyone please PM me a direct link to instructions on what exactly I need in the way of supplies, tools (kit is fine..just point me to the right one!) and some clear preferably written instructions (I don't do that well with videos...but they are okay as a supplement to the process. Unless someone is verbally explaining things they are doing carefully...that would be okay.) I am worried my eyes and hands aren't going to co-operate very well..but I HAVE to do something! I'm getting so frustrated and discouraged I could just cry!!! Oh...I do have an older model ohms checker. I imagine it'll be okay enough for now.

I don't know what kind of issues you have with your eyes and hands, but I was amazed at how simple recoiling these was once I did it. Get some wire and give it a try.

lmao, for sure, I saw pics of that KF4 and thought woah, too many parts :D I chose the KF Lite plus V2 for the smaller juice channels in the hopes that with my thinner juice it won't leak out the air hole like the subtank mini does. My nautilus mini''s and GS Airs never leaked out the air holes with my 70 pg/30 vg juice either. :)

Do you have the V1 or V2 deck (with two big holes on the side of the can) Lynn? I think I would do better with the original subtank mini V1 deck with the small channels at the bottom.

Do you have a tutorial on making verticals?
No but I can tell you what I did. I watched Rip Tripper rebuild a nautilus vertical and did it just like he did that except that instead of inserting the coil from the bottom I put it in from the top. I used 28 gauge Kanthal, 10.5 wraps around a 1/16" screwdriver. Oh, and since I inserted from the top, I wrapped it with longer cotton so I didn't have to add extra. I used my base PG/VG mix to wet the cotton and that helps a bunch. Let me find the video.

EDIT: Of course you have to pop the little manhole cover (Cheech) off.

Thank you very much!:) I love my airs, but I've been using my Nautilus again and wanted to give those a try, so you saved me a google.:D

Are you doing this with the 1.5s? I suspect this technique may work with the 1.2s....hmmmm (need a chin-scratch smilie)

I don't have any 1.5s. I did it with a 1.2 and built it to 1.48.

Oh, and you are very welcome.

I did put in a support ticket and was told they will send me the part in my next order. This is the second time they did this to me. I am not going to order anything else so I will use the kf4 for spare parts for my other 1.

hmmm. Okay..so the kathal A1 wire you can get on Amazon? And do you "have" to use pads of organic cotton? I mean...isn't there a less burnable option somewhere? I don't think I want to order from FT. Is there another option? What do you mean by "skin" from the Muji cotton as a wrapper? I see organic cotton balls are an option now...okay. Where can you get those? Would Amazon have them? I guess I could try ordering a 1.5 to 2 mm dia. screwdriver from them too. Sheesh. And a magnifying glass on a stand. Sigh. But thanks! Really! MOST helpful! You are almost speaking in a language I understand! lol!
If you would like to try rayon, send me a pm. I recently acquired 500 bazillion trillion feet of it and would be happy to send you some. I was an "Official Tester" for the Master's rebuilt cotton and rayon wick coils. In my opinion—which may or may not be humble until I've had my coffee—the rayon tastes better.

Be careful with the word "organic". In most places it has a strict legal definition, and refers to growing culture: no chemical fertilizers, pesticides, etc. It does NOT refer to post-harvest processing. "Organic" cotton may be bleached, mixed with peanut butter and moose spittle, or otherwise defiled; it's still "organic". Claims to be organic from places like China should elicit a smile or a raucous guffaw.
