I have a GS Air 2 (14mm) on an iStick Basic.
Looking for performance comments on the different coils available.
Not going to read through a thousand pages (part 1 and 2) and hope someone can give me the consensus skinny.
Not happy with the .75 coil. Seems to gurgle/struggle a good bit. Vapor is good though.
What should I expect with the 1.2 and 1.5 coils?
Oh ... I'm definitely a tootler and thinking about trying the 1.5 coils before I put this thing in a box in the closet.
Which coil do you think might be best. I hope no one says the .75 LOL ... then I'm screwed

Welcome to the funhouse, Hobbs.
I have yet to try the GS Air 2 or the istick basic. My comments are based on about a year of daily use of multiple original GS Airs, the Air M, the Air Ms, and the GS Tank.
For what it may be worth, I prefer the M, the Tank, the original Air, and the Ms, in that order. My sweet spot seems to be about 8.4 watts, so I suppose I am a card-carrying tootle puffer. High vg blends, around 6-8 mg. nic.

For any and all of the above, sitting on an istick 30, a Defender 50, or an istick 40 tc in wattage mode, the 1.5 ohm dual coil works very nicely, with good flavor and adequate vapor. In my not so very humble opinion, don't bother with the 1.2 ohm vertical coil; it's a terrible disappointment after half a day to two days max. It gets oversaturated, floods, gurgles, spits and whines. That's the good news. It also tends to burn at wattages as low as 7, for no apparent reason. Burned cotton wicking, no matter how many times eleaf claims it to be organic, has no redemption.

The tc coil is another major p.i.t.a., whether due to the coil quality, the tc electronics of the tc 40, or both.

The 1.5s perform very well, last a long time, and are mostly trouble free. I hit one bad manufacturing batch, two boxes of five each, in a year. All the others do just what you seem to want.

Thanks GranFumador !!! Oversaturated, floods, gurgles, spits and whines were the words I was looking for when thinking of and trying to describe my experience with one of the .75's on the Basic LOL ... sounds like 1.2 might be more of the same. Ima try one of those dual coil 1.5s ... I have high hopes

Welcome, @Hobbs ! (And thanks for the poke, Gran!)
From one Tootler to another, pull up a chair and hang out with us! I enjoy the 1.5 coils, or better yet, rebuilt to a single coil wicked with rayon. You can learn how to do this, in due time, by studying @Cheechako 's blog. No rush, though.

You may even want to outfit your dog, so when he/she is out socializing, he can recognize the other cool dogs at the park.

Hope you will stick around. If you are having problems, someone here has surely experienced it before you and will help you with solutions.

HA !!! :D Thanks Nanny LOL

I'm stuck on Aspire Nautilus and Innokin Endura (Prism) tanks. They vape GREAT (Nautilus Mini is current fav), but I wanted to give the GS AIR 2 a try based on SOoooo many tootle vape people's preference ... so I just got the Basic to try. Interestingly, on the Eleaf retail site, which is actually a Joyetech Holding Limited site, they didn't even have the 1.2 heads available. I have two 5 packs of 1.5's on the way :)

Not into rebuilding yet. I have a Melo 2 tank and 5 ECR 1.0 ohm heads ... but ... I don't like the vape from the 1.0's at all, so haven't messed with rebuilding. If this GS Air works its way into my daily rotation, I'll dang sure look into rebuilding.

Again, thanks for the welcome AND the heads up. Nice

Welcome to the Air Club @Hobbs ! The GS series of tanks and coils are a great bargain. I cannot add much to @GranFumador assessment of the Air coils.
I have tried the .75 in the istick basic and found it to be a pleasant vape. I didn't have any troubles with gurgling and vaped fine, not as good as my 1.5
recoils, but did okay. It is possible you got a bad coil. How many of the .75's have you tried so far? I think you will like the 1.5 ohm coil, not as good as a recoil,
as @Nanny22 pointed out, but it'll do a great job. :)
Some of the folks here converted over from Nautilus and other tanks for the value and great vape provided by the GS Air tank line.

What other mods do you have? Try the Basic tank on some other mods that you can adjust the wattage on and see if it improves with the .75 coil.
Please hang out and share your experiences with us!

I've only tried one .75 coil. The one that came installed. The spare in the box is also .75.

I tried the GS Air 2 and .75 on an iJust 2 battery ... yep it sure looked funny LOL ... but the vape was nice. So, I know there's nothing wrong with the coil, it's just the way I vape and .75 and iStick Basic isn't a good match for the way I vape I guess.

I have:
- 2 Melo 2 TC60W mods
- An Aspire Pegasus with Triton tank << Triton tanks large and small are too fiddly
- An Aspire Pegasus Triton Mini << wanted bad to love it ... hate it
- 2 Innokin Endura T18's << GREAT flavor ... those top coils do spit in the T18's though
- 2 Innokin Endura T22's << Not as good flavor as the T18's but same coils don't spit
- An Aspire Premium kit that came with the Nautilus Mini ... but the Mini lives on one of my Endura T18 batteries
- 2 individually purchased full size Aspire Nautilus tanks. I removed the air control ring and drilled out the air holes on one, for DL. The full size Nautilus lives on an iJust 2 battery
- An iJust 2 tank and two batteries. I hate the stupid silicone air ring on the tank and there's WAY too much air without it. Don't use the tank, BUT I love the iJust 2 batteries and any of my 22mm tanks on them.
- ... and I have an iStick Basic :)

I THINK that's it LOL

Those'll do Hobbs...those'll do.
Nice selection to play with and compare! I've put the GS Air 2 on my other mods and it provides a very nice vape with both the .75 and the 1.5 coils.
I vape my 1.5 recoils with mesh liner at about 14 watts.

Lots of GS Air experience here !!!
With tootle vape in mind and just out of curiosity ... if you (anyone) had just one GS Air in one configuration that was your daily and your grab and go ... which tank/coil and battery would it be? Thanks !!!

EDIT: Cheechako ... I find that most any 1.5 coil across various vendors works really good @ around 14 watts. With a new coil I MIGHT start at 11.5/12/12.5 if I have the luxury of VW, see how it goes/let it break in briefly and then I sneak up to 14.

I have 2 Istick basics and love them. I use the .75 coils. I am on my second .75 coil. The first one lasted about 6 weeks and no gurgles just kiind of lost flavor. the second one is about 4 weeks in use and fine. On a backup tank (I have 4 extra tanks) the .75 that came in it gurgles a bit but the other 2 do not gurgle at all. I have tried a 1.5 coil It is a tighter draw and no gurgles. Have the 1.2 as well but not tried them yet might be a while as these .75 last forever.

Easy for me the istick basic with a .75 coil. so handy and pocket friendly and zero leaky so far.

I gotta admit, I was pleasantly surprised at how good the .75 ohm coils are. Especially for the cost!
