Sorry for the slow welcome, @mav2000 . I don't do anything til I have had my morning coffee.

Welcome to the Airheads! My preferred tank is the GS tank with a rebuilt 1.2 ohm coil. Until you learn to rebuild, the factory coils can be hit and miss, but most are fine. I have had coils last 8 weeks or more - it depends on the liquid and how you vape. I'm replacing cigarettes, so 10 watts and MTL works for me. Rocky Mountain Vapor sells the GS Tank for $12.50 with an additional 25% off using the code "president" and free shipping over $14. Sweet Vapes is also a good place to buy from. Hope you give the tanks a try. You will get plenty of support from the great people here!
Now, here's your Airhead T-shirt:

Welcome to the club and we are right here to help you out!

Thanks for the great welcome. Now the quandary that I have put myself into is not funny.

I bought the evic vtc mini and that came with a cubis head. I didn't like the cubis too much, but I will keep the cubis as it would be great for traveling, specially since it's leak proof.

I then went ahead and ordered a kangertech toptank with 2 sets of coils. After the order was dispatched I was told that probably was not a great choice, specially for MTL and the fact that a lot of them leak

So after trawling around some of the local forums and speaking to a couple of guys I went ahead and bought an ego one mega, again with 2 sets of rebuildable coils.

So now I have one mod and tank with me and Teo more tanks on the way. I really liked the look of this and since it's not very expensive I thought what the heck... Let's order one,but lets check few things before going ahead.

My main aim is to stay of the cigarettes and stay with MTL for the time being. Direct lung seems to get me high.

To keep the main points I mind,

1. At least 3 ml, so it lasts a day
2. MTL
3. Easy to use and fill
4. No leaks
5. RBA would be a bonus

Welcome Mav2000!
Many here who are Air Fans have been down the same road as you. Lots of reviews and opinions to consider, lots of money regrettably spent listening to those reviews and opinions.
A lot of us chose the GS Air tanks due to affordability and performance. Is it the ideal tank? No. I think the GS Air Tank comes closest, easy to fill, uses a multitude of coils, very affordable.
A general dislike is the low tank capacity, we all wish it were larger.
The original 1.5 coils can be rebuilt to suit most vapers, from standard 1.5 kanthal to TC and everything in between.
Occasionally, there are complaints from folks about the tank leaking, but it's rare.
Good luck to you on selecting what works for you!

Thanks for the info. Last question, is it for flavor lovers?
Definitely a flavor lover's tank. I'm not worried about vapor production, but I must have good flavor. (I have flavor ADD and OCD). Most of the time I have 5 -10 flavors going in different GS Air Tanks, and all the flavors are better than in my previous equipment. Hope that helps you.

Wow, you must have 10 of those tanks in your collection..

And this is with the stock coils? Or making your own?

Let's just say I have a FEW tanks. No need to embarrass myself, here.
I prefer recoils but I have a nice supply of 1.5s from the factory if anyone needs any. ;)
(My previous cigarette habit cost me about $60 dollars a week -- that buys a LOT of tanks in a pretty big hurry.)
And juice .... there's always juice.

I think a few of us would be a bit embarrassed if we took all the juice bottles, coils, packaging, mail boxes, tanks, mods, coils and tools we acquired in one year.

Having said that, we'd all be disgusted if confronted by a year of cig butts we had consumed in a year, along with a spreadsheet showing the dollar amount.

And last I checked, I am under 25% of what I would have spent on the killer cigs.

:)

Well, looks like you already have two good tanks that come with both pre-made coils and an easy rebuild options. I own a Mega One and their clr coils are very easy to rebuild. Look for YouTube tutorials. Piece of cake. You just have to decide whether you prefer 1Ω coils with small (1.8mm air hole) or the .5Ω ones (3.5mm airhole). You can rebuild them at any resistance, of course, but the difference is airflow is significant between the two, even if you adjust the AFC on the atty itself, so experiment a bit.

I don't own the toptank, but I understand that it comers with a mini RBA plus deck. If so, that one is an easy rebuild also. Experiment with different coils, too. The Kanger horizontal coils are similar to the Joyetech CLR coils and are very easy to rebuild and/or rewick. Eleaf 1.5Ω are the most difficult to rebuild because they are small, need to be opened up (which takes some effort) and they have that wrap that needs to be replaced. But it's perfectly doable. Start with the simple ones (RBA deck and CLR and Kanger horizontals). Once you've mastered those, you can move on to Eleaf coils (or not).

As for leaking, any tank can and will leak, on occasion. Comes with the territory. I always have a small microfiber cloth and a bunch of paper napkins in my purse. :D

Good luck!

I have six gs air2 tanks, so I'm obviously a fan. I have one juiced up and in use just about all the time. Five of them are near perfection, but the sixth one has me stumped. What I have:
* Two 14mm (2ml) on iStick Basics. This is what got me off cigarettes, and I'm still very partial to them.
* Three 19mm (2.5ml) on iJust Start Plus batteries. I absolutely love this whole setup and I'm sure I'll wind up with more. Bought three when I caught them at $9.99 at 101 Vape, now they're gone. Keeping an eye out for another bargain price.
* One 16.5mm (2.3ml) I bought as a stand alone to use on various mods. This one is the problem. The flavor is very muted, and there is a slight metallic taste even after several tanks of juice have gone through it. I even took a working coil out of one of the other Airs and put the exact same juice in the 16.5mm tank, and it just doesn't taste the same.

I'm at a loss. I've rinsed it several times but have taken no other steps to clean it. Anyone have any idea what it could be? I would have thought that putting a coil and juice that I knew were good would have solved the problem, but it didn't.

Is this the GS Air 2? If so, I don't own one, so I can't help. I'm sure somebody else will be around soon with some suggestions. I own and use the original Air, the MS, the M and the TC shorty. I find no differences in flavor or performance between them, really.
