Yes, it is a GS Air 2. In fact, all six of them are. The other five are excellent. This one just isn't for some reason.

A dud? So sorry... Did you clean it well? I wonder what you're tasting? Chinese WD-40 can be pretty nasty.

@Cheechako, I saw your post on rebuilding e-leaf coils. Watched some vids, too. Problem is, I've never rebuilt a coil..haha. I do have a Kayfun on the way and am going to learn on that, but I definitely want to learn the e-leaf rebuild at some point. I love eleaf products and this could save me some money. I'm hoping you'll be open to some questions when the time comes. :)

I'm stumped @MikeADore , I've had errant coils, but not tanks. Very strange.
Yeah, it's got me, too. There's not much to mess a tank up, really, if the coil is good. I'm thinking it could need a major scrubbing somehow, but I have no idea how to go about it. I just keep rinsing it out.

Which Kayfun? I love my Kayfuns, BTW. Start with those. They were designed to be rebuilt. YouTube is your friend!

I wash my tanks with warm water and mild detergent, like Dawn or Palmolive. If that's not enough, try an alcohol (PGA or some cheap vodka) or a denture cleaning tablet bath followed by a good rinse. You may have to remove the o-rings, carefully, in case something is hiding underneath.

Feel free to fire away with questions, we're all one big Air Head family here! Did you read the posts or peruse my Blog?
I can't remember the last time I used a 1.5 coil out of the box, now I just tear them down and recoil, rewick.
I also like changing coils without concern for what it costs. So needless to say, I change coils often.:D

You might want to try some "Dawn" type dish soap to clean any remaining oil or grease from manufacturing.
Of course, you'll want to rinse the tank well or you'll be blowing vape bubbles.
I clean all my stuff with an Ultra Sonic cleaner, tanks, coils, bottles, mix DIY and assorted other sundry items.
Well worth the $50 investment for the long haul. And your jewelry will sparkle!:w00t:

This Kayfun:
EHPro Kayfun Lite Plus V2 22mm RBA Rebuildable Atty

Highly recommended by @Kenna, who has several and swears by them. She also said it was a good one to learn rebuilding.

And, here's the Air 2 16.5mm that's giving me problems. I actually meant to order a stainless steel 19mm since all my others are matched up by color with their batteries. I accidentally ordered this size but wasn't upset about it. But, it's not doing the job. I don't know if you can tell, but it's quite a bit taller and thinner than the 19mm. There does seem to be an awful lot of metal squeezed into a confined space.

GS Air 2 16.5mm

Thanks, @Katya. I'll raid my mom's denture tablets and give it a go. Uh, o-rings?

EHPro's KFL is a good one. I prefer the K4 because it has more airflow, but if you like a tighter draw, the KFL+ can't be beat.

Make sure those denture tablets are unflavored, unless you like minty vapes.

The silicone (almost translucent) o-rings inside your atty.

Yeah, I definitely prefer a tight draw. I know I'm being dense, but the only 0-ring I see is under the metal piece that the drip tip fits into? Is that it? The metal piece doesn't seem to want to come off.

This is a Melo tank, but they come with colored o-rings. Same idea and placement.

Here's an Air tank--top, bottom and the base--sorry, can't find a better picture.

I guess I'm just dumb as a rock. I don't see any o-rings on this tank in the same position as those colored rings on the Melo.

GS Air 2 16.5mm

If they're under the metal cap and end pieces, I can't get those off. Does the cleaning stuff destroy the o-rings?

None of the GS Air tanks were meant to be disassembled like other tanks. There are silicone o rings at each end of the glass tube where it contacts the metal. they put some sort of adhesive/sealant on the internal threads of tank.
some have soaked theirs in 90% alcohol or heated water in order to disassemble their tanks. I have never found it necessary to take my tanks apart in order to clean them.

Mike, o-rings are placed in all places where the glass meets metal parts (or two metal parts come together); without them, your tank would leak like a sieve.

Don't worry about them for now. Just clean your tank as we suggested and see if it helps. My Airs don't really come apart on the top, but I never had a problem with any of my o-rings.

Famous last words.

GTG and good luck.

OK, whew! Thought I was losing my mind for a minute...lol. Yeah, I can hold it at just such an angle and maybe see the o-ring under the metal, but I can't get it to budge, so I'm just gonna drop it in the denture cleanser and hope for the best. Thanks guys, for your patience. I just thought there was something I wasn't seeing. I'll let you know how this works out.

Just throwing ideas here. It is possible that the plating isn't right on that tank. Or an errant shard from cutting the threads on the internal connection in the chimney. And maybe some stubborn manufacturing oils or whatever. Maybe too much lube in the airflow ring?

But I think it was the first coil you tried in the tank, it had the metallic flavor, and the tank now still has remnants of that flavor. My Ni coil in the M tank was metallic, and it took 2 or 3 tankfuls until that taste dissipated. The cleaning recommended should help. And after you have rinsed it well, give it a good rinse (or soak) in distilled water.

And swap the drip tip with another. I do think drip tips affect the flavor.

Pssssst! Hot soapy water, just like washing dishes, & a rinse in alcohol or vodka! [emoji8]
