Well, I'm trying, I'm really trying.

Maybe I'm a bit too tired to get it right now, but I have watched the video for about an hour, and I need to study it more.

I have a lil container that I put my Evod battery, the infamous blue screw driver, the mesh and a coil that is going to be massacred, but have to let it go for today, otherwise I will lose my Sicilian temper!!!

I'm not giving up, just putting it off till the morrow......one of my mantras is 'persistence overcomes resistance', and I will apply it to this.
Anytime you are working with something fiddly, it's always best to just put it down for awhile and walk away when you are frustrated.
When I'm working with old fountain pens, I'm Bound to break something if I keep playin with it when I'm frustrated.

The thing I have the most Consistent isssue with with the coils is inserting the Rubber insulators. Either they go in easy or they don't. I keep a sharpened piece of wood coffee stirrer ready in case an edge of the insulator needs some help getting in the hole.

Been doin a little experiment. I've found that vaping doesn't lower my oxygen saturation level. My level maintains at 93% when continuously vaping. For the experiment I smoked nearly half a cigarette of my wife's (tasted nasty and got dizzy as ....). My sat level dropped to 89%. After putting the cig out it went back up to 93 in a few minutes. 30 minutes later I finished the cigarette and it dropped again to 87 this time. Not a good conclusion yet on the cigarettes with this limited test, but I know from much testing that vaping definitely doesn't affect my oxygen level. Seems to be good news so far for those with COPD like myself. I just can't take the cig smoke enough to do any more today. Maybe somebody that smokes and vapes could do a better test. I'm not recommending anyone to vape if they have COPD but I do think it has no effect on the oxygen or the volts goin thru my veins :)

I talked to my Pulmonary Specialist about vaping, and he said to go for it! Like you I also have COPD, (emphysema) from 35 years of smoking hand rolled cigarettes, the last 20 or so smoking Top Tobacco.

Again, I'm by no means recommendin it, but I haven't set myself on fire when I'm usin oxygen. People are often settin fire to themselves and/or blowin up oxygen tanks and oxygen concentrators with their cigs and lighters. No like fire:grr:

Thankfully they caught me and got me off cigs before I ended up needing supplemental oxygen.

A few thoughts that might be of interest to those suffering from emphysema/COPD.

First, a disclaimer--I'm not a pulmonologist (just married to one and he's vary happy that I'm vaping--but I don't have COPD/emphysema) so I can't tell you if vaping is safe for people with COPD/emphysema, but one study conducted by Dr. Polosa from Italy seems to be encouraging:

Dr. Polosa, Italian vapor and tobacco expert, reviews e-cigs in BMC Medicine - American Council on Science and Health (ACSH)

"Among people with asthma and/or COPD (chronic obstructive lung disease, bronchitis and emphysema), improvement in symptoms was noted in two-thirds of smokers who switched to vaping. According to Dr. Polosa, taken together, these findings provide emerging evidence that e-cig/vapor product use can reverse harm from tobacco smoking."

Always talk to your doctor. Also, if you vape, be smart about it and vape defensively. Here's what I would suggest:

1) Don't inhale. You can vape and get your nicotine without inhaling--vape like you would smoke a cigar or a pipe. I do it often to give my lungs a break. It's fun.

2) If you must inhale, avoid flavored eliquids--stick to unflavored base (just PG, VG and nicotine, I like 70/30 PG/VG ratio) or choose very lightly flavored, clean, clear eliquids.

3) Vape at low wattages and use mouth to lung vaping technique--avoid high wattage/sub ohm cloud chasing.

Heya Airheads! Long time!

Tried one of the aftermarket Silicone insulators the Cheechman was kind enough to send me.
(BIG Thanks!)

The insert part is a hair shorter but seems to have held fine for me and I'm a little aggressive cramming
my wick in there.

The front is a hair larger than the stock so at least this time, I needed my sharpened wooden coffee stirrer to help it In.

Not sure about the washers. I've never replaced one of those in any coil before...

OK......now, I'm ready to tackle this again

I don't have anything to mount the coil on so that I can work with it. Have an Evod, but I still have to hold it with the other hand.

Have some old T3 bases, but can't get them apart....I'm afraid I won't have enough hand strength to tackle this.

Watched the video again, and I am feeling lost again.
Sorry to be such a downer, but am leaving it alone again for awhile until I can figure something out!

You'll get it. Rome wasn't built in a day.
You will figure out how to adapt the recoiling system to you. We all do it a little different once
we figure out what to do. You will too!
Thanks for the encouragement, Cheech! :) :)
