If (1) you now and then drop a GS-Air, or M, or Ms, or tank  and (2) save all but the broken glass for parts :D, you can countersink a board from underneath, insert an ego/510 extender, to act as a nut, and just screw the surviving GS-* base onto it.

Sounds clunky, is quick and easy, and it works.

Will the air coil fit into an evod base?

Yes.

Every eGo threaded device is also 510 threaded.

I had one cap come off so hard that I bent the connector. Didn't know it til I tried to use it. It screwed in the base ok but wouldn't screw together
I really don't understand how you're taking it off?? If you look at the video, it comes off with ease every time. :(

I'm looking for something to screw my coil into. The coil sits too low in the GS bases.
WIth respect, I think you can make it work pretty easily with just a little practice.
As an experiment, I just wiggled the caps off of two different 1.5 ohm gs-air coils.
One was mounted on a protank base, the other on the afc base of a gs-air M.
You are correct. The coil sits a tad lower on the gs-air base, but I got both caps off with about five seconds of gentle rocking.
