can someone help me, ive a eleaf 40w kit with gs tc tank, and when I fire in watt mode it says atomizer low, no matter if its at 1w or 40w and all in between! so when I pust the middle button and go to the temp bit anything under 200c says temp control! and over 200 to 600f it will fire for a second and then say temp procted I don't get it,ide be so pleased if someone can advise
I'm having the same problems. I don't think I will be getting anymore TC coils. They are supposed to work in both TC mode AND in VW mode. I can only get mine to work occasionally in VW mode, which is what I prefer. These coils are just too flaky for me.

Man, these things are picky.
NO TC FOR ME.
Give me an istick or a Defender and a nice GS "M" or the new "TANK" with an OLD model coil and I will be happy over here in the corner playing with my toes for the rest of my life!

where did you get that info from? nickel coils do not work in VW - their resistance is way too low to even fire!
Mine has worked several times on the VW setting, when the coil was reading .15 ohms. Once it changed to .14 it started reading low atomizer. The TC coils are supposed to work in both settings. It says so in the manual that comes with the iStick. Plus all the reviews I've watched say the same thing.

That's really, really hot! Like MAX hot! Try starting at 350F or so and work your way up slowly from there. I couldn't stand 600F. Even 500F is too hot for me - so far, anyway.

Hmmm. I've never seen a review that said that. Don't remember reading that in the manuals, either- but then I didn't buy the kit. Never heard of anyone vaping VW with nickel wire, though.

When I set mine that low, it won't even fire. I just get the temp protection message. I am NOT having a good experience with these coils so far.

I'm going to go back to the regular Air coils too. I'll try a new coil later on to see if maybe I got a dud, but if the rest of them are like this one; no thank you.

Good afternoon, GR. Try setting the mod to Ni tc, then 480°F, and lock it.
There are instruction that came with the mod that explain how to do this. It is quick and easy.

I guess I'm odd man out here. Just got a 40 tc, mostly as a replacement for an istick 30 that's beginning to fade after four or five hundred recharges. Had some tc coils that came with the GS-Tanks, so figured I'd give them a try.

1) Read instruction page from 40 tc
2) Set TC mode, 500 °F, locked, vaped. Too hot!
3) Backed down to 460. Smooth and pleasant.
Next day, fired broken-in coil. Way too hot! Backed it down to 430°F. Very nice.

some general Temp Control basics

TC vaping
and
VV/VW vaping are very different…

the better mods than TC40 will ‘kick-out’ of TC mode if Ni or Ti is not detected

•pick ONE and get used to it ; VW or TC
•use ONE , C° or F° (don’t mix back and forth)

Ni coil (blue) 200°F see how it vapes
just keep INCREASING (250°, 300°, 410°) till you like flavor/throat hit
pay NO ATTENTION to display flashing to ~Temp Protection~
just [<] or[>] till it vapes as you like…

I use TC40 @ .55Ω Ti @ 410°F

TC (temp control)
Ni (nickle blue)
Ti (titanium red)

Kanthal won’t work in TC
Ni/Ti won’t work in VV/VW

Eleaf iStick 40W TC Full Kit (GS Tank)

*.15 ohm GS Air TC Coil Head
Ni200 Nickel
•Pure Organic Cotton
•Gold Plated Connection

the coil (tank)
and the device (positive pin)
NEED TO BE the same Temperature when you start

screw tank on device
look to see what Ω reading is (before you fire unit)
to get BEST performance, one needs to “LOCK” the Ω’s into memory
when cold, hold ‘fire button’ and ‘up button’ at same time
you will see the lock ICON appear
now vape face off…

by pressing the center oval button you enter Temp Control
the watts set automatically to max (40W) and can not be adjusted
