Didn't someone here mention using a small zip tie to do coils so they could get an oval coil?

I tried it and it worked...did it mostly out of curiosity.

that was me trying them there
originally was for the HUGE space inside the NEW Kanger BDC that I switched to single coil
so I got the tie wrap and made some oval wrappers
wire would stick so I sanded them and it worked out very well
possibly where I became enchanted with FAT, but short cotton wicks
eventually moved on from the kanger bdc style to CLR's (never looked back)

I know we all like, what we like, and for me it gets no better than the egoOne+CLR
It just works great for me-easy-durable-cost effective...

Seems SO LONG ago I came in here because I liked the looks & style of the Air tanks
and I asked if the CL/CLR coils were swapable with the GS tanks since they are ‘cousins’
even tho they are not, I kinda just lingered in here and enjoy my time spent...

Now my overall vapin' trip is coming up to 3yrs {6-24-2013 / 6-24-16}
and I am in a happy place with vapin’ (got the world by the short hairs)

I like it when we all can just get along

I really like the Ego One tanks with 1 ohm CLR too. Now if Eleaf would make a coil head like that, that would fit the GS line, I'd be thrilled.

My limited experience rebuilding the GS Air coils has been OK. My eyes are weak so it's hard to see what I'm doing. I haven't actually rebuilt a CLR yet but I have re-wicked them. Rebuilding them looks easy enough.

I think the CLR coils can be milked out for some time prior to recoiling.
Extremely easy to rewick as you said!

I think most here would agree that the .75ohm and 1.5ohm factory coils are actually very good. The 1.2ohm seem to be not quite as good for most folks.

But, when the bright folks here figured out how to rebuild the coils (especially the 1.5) it just makes sense to do it. Saves quite a bit of money in the long run, but, perhaps most importantly, safeguards against the future when the coils could become a lot more expensive or difficult to get.
