Second pack of coils arrived today. So, I have 1 tank, 1 1/2 packs of coils, and tank 2 due to arrive tomorrow.
That should give me adequate protection for now from all you hoarders. :)
Grrrr. My rather high electric bill this month is preventing me from getting anymore vapemail right now.

For whatever it is worth - I'm no expert and just making it up as I go: :)

I would think drying out, when using vodka, is unnecessary. Next tank, I'm filling it with vodka, shaking, pouring that out, and then I'm going ahead with juice.

:vapor:

It's certainly ok to have a drop or two of water or Vodka in the tank. It is OK to thin liquid a tad with water. Vodka could increase the throat hit, if there was enough in there. (I do believe some flavorings have an alcohol base, but I couldn't begin to tell you which vendors use them.)

It's kinda crazy that immediately the mfgs jumped to the subohm game....it's like we completely missed the middle of the road in terms of wattage. I am hoping that this one fills that void a bit for folks who liked the Nautilus but weren't completely satisfied by it.

In reality, I loved the istick 20, but it needed more than just one tank that was a good matchup. I could not use the single or dual coil Protanks on it.....because it immediately toasted coils. The wicking and airflow couldn't keep up.

As I see it...I think the new sub-ohming (low Ω's, high Watts) craze is aimed at "hobby vapists".

I...as an "analog convert vapist"...am quite satisfied with the "cigarette experience" of my Mini Nauty's with BVC's at 7-8 Watts on my 20W-iStick and 11-12 Watts on my 30W-iStick. But I am looking at the GS Air because of it's slightly larger capacity.

Your dislike of the 20Watt-iStick was completely addressed in the later iSticks. The 30Watt and 50Watt iSticks no longer vape "hot" (they use RMS), and have Stainless Steel spring-loaded 510 connections.

A mini and preliminary "review", by KD:

It hits very well to me, with no change in the original air flow control. It has a bit less of that spitting crackling of vliquid often present on the Naughties.

The flavors are a bit "lighter" (think tonality, not concentration) than on the Naughts. I'm finding more of the sweet notes in my vliquids.

After KartoTanks, BCC's and BDC's...I had to cut my nicotine level in half (12mg.=>6mg.) in order to be able to stand up when I started with the Nauty BVC's.

Do the GS Air coils give you a similar increased "nicotine hit"???

For sure. I am considering cutting back my nic level b/c of the hit I'm getting.

Until a week ago, I've been vaping on a Vamo V.2 for the past couple of years. I've used old protanks, vision vivi novas, and for the past year T3s clearos. I was pretty happy with the T3s, since the coils are rebuildable and rewickable, so the whole vaping experience was pretty affordable.

However, like others, I've lately been noticing all the new vv/vw devices, clearomizers, and rebuildables coming on the market and thought maybe it was time to get off the horse and buggy and try something new. So I bought myself an iStick 30w and started looking for a tank to use with it. I read this thread and one on the Kanger subtank, so decided to buy both.

I got my GS Air last monday and was completely floored at the explosion of flavor from the very first vape. Who knew vaping could taste this good! I am still happily vaping on the stock coil that came with it without any issues whatsoever. I didn't even soak the tank, just filled it with ejuice, let it sit awhile, then vaped. My only complaint is that it just doesn't hold enough juice. In fact, the tank seems to waste a lot of space. With it filled all the way, once you turn it upside down to put on your pv, there is at least a good half inch of wasted space. If it were top fill, you could make use of it. It would be nice if they came out with a taller version. I also wish it were possible to rebuild these coils without a lot of trouble.

Unfortunately, my experience with the subtank hasn't been as good. The vape is way too airy for my taste, even with the airflow minimized. Even with one finger over one hole. The drip tip is too wide, so I put a smaller one on, but I still get this overwhelming hit that just about tears my throat out (and that's with the 1.2 ohm stock coil). I'm guessing you're going to have to be a straight lung hitter to enjoy this thing, and I'm not. I bought it because it has the rebuild deck, so thought I would be able to keep rebuilding coils and it would be very affordable.

Now if there were something that vaped like this GS Air and was rebuildable, I'd be all over it. In the meantime, guess I'd better get a couple more of these. It's definitely the best thing I've ever vaped.

:) I've noticed this, too. I kind of look at it as a little bonus magic trick. I think I fill it up, flip it over, and presto, I haven't filled it up. :)

I actually don't look for more capacity. I have juice ADD, so I like being able to blow through the tank to get to another flavor.

What a waste of vodka! :p

FWIW, I never use alcohol to clean my tanks--just hot water and a bit of dishwashing detergent and a thorough rinse afterwards is usually all it takes. Then I just air dry (if I have the time) or use a kitchen towel to dry the outside--a few drops of water on the inside won't do any harm--there is water (albeit distilled) in our juices.

That said, I've never had a tank that required a more thorough cleaning. And since you only have to do it once, a little vodka can be sacrificed; I just wouldn't use my Gray Goose or Finlandia. ;)

I used to love my T3 and eVods but I have moved on to Kanger glass clearomizers--both single and dual coils. I think all eliquids taste better in glass tanks. Also, the dual coil clearos come with improved airflow. They all can be rewicked or rebuilt.

However, like others, I've lately been noticing all the new vv/vw devices, clearomizers, and rebuildables coming on the market and thought maybe it was time to get off the horse and buggy and try something new. Here's a nice little trick for filling Kanger tanks (they have the same problem) to capacity; the guy is a bit long winded, so you may safely skip the first 4 minutes of the video, but the solution is brilliant! It works for Kanger tanks--I'm sure it can be applied to the GS Air:

Yeah. Those subs are really not suitable for us mouth to lung vapers. :(

I'm sure that all the manufacturers will eventually come to their senses and offer tanks and coils for lower-wattage crowd. It's only a matter of time.

I'm also pretty sure that GS Air coils can be rebuilt.

just putting this out there: the GS Air replacement coils and the eGrip (CS) replacement coils are interchangeable- the only difference is the thickness of the silicone ring at the top of each type coil- GS is thinner than the CS. so with a mere swap of that silicone ring, either type coil can be used in either thing.

I'll be stocking up on the GS coils as they are much less expensive.

We only keep the cheap stuff in the house, so I don't feel bad. :) It's convenient, and I think it works really well.

I like the size, too. Plus it's really easy to refill. I have one tank that I alternate flavors (Lemon, Lime, or Pineapple Cream) and it works great. Another is dedicated to Black Teas. I've got 3 tanks and 5 boxes of coils. Since I alternate between all of my tanks I think they are the perfect size for me. The table beside me is covered with iSticks, Provaris, Vamos, MVPs, etc. Each with a different tank and flavor.

I read somewhere that the air pocket on these type of tanks is to create the seal. I do fill my Aerotanks a bit fuller but I don't fill them completely. I haven't tried the Q-tip trick on the GS Air. I should do it on my next fill.

did it this morning! had to pull off a lot of the cotton from the q-tip to get it in the airhole, but everything else worked the same! whoo hoo!

I tried but I couldn't get the q-tip in the air tube. I didn't think to pull some off the cotton off. I just cut the end off and then it wasn't big enough to fill the tube up so I gave up. Now I know what to do. ECF always has the answer!
