Does it matter which lead is the positive or the negative?

I don't know, I have watched videos and they will stress which is which. But to me I just
make sure the leads stay to each side, opposite of one another.
And I am vaping on the build in the video producing massive vapor and flavor!
I don't think I've had a coil for these, stock or rebuilt, that got to the point of diminishing returns, I just rebuild
after a while. That's what's nice about rebuilding them, don't have to worry about replacing the coil in
regards to cost.

I meant- does it matter which lead; as in the 'under' or 'over' lead is the negative/positive one?

The negative will be in contact with the outer shell, so it would be the "under" since the "over" is insulated from that outer shell.

So as Bikenstein said the one on the left is negative in that video.

Bike,
Ever try wrapping one on a thoriated tungsten?
;>)
LOL. Nope, haven't thought about it but I could. I would probably break it though cause the stuff is brittle. We don't use tungsten with thorium much since they have safer alternatives. I'm thinkin that we use the alternatives because they are cheaper not because of safety because no one ever tells anybody that it's radioactive and carcinogenic if you breath the dust while grinding it. Some tig welders at work are sharpening 30 or more pieces a day without a mask and they have never heard anything about it. And most of those who listen to me shrug it off. I still see the green tungsten on most jobs. If you can smell it while you're sharpening it then you are breathing it. It also collects in the discs or stones you use. (I was a welding instructor back in the day and taught metallurgy). Don't breath the dust. :)

Your speaking spanish to me...no pun intended. ;) I have a lot of video watching to do. Im guessing that by outer shell you mean the one that gets 'clamped' by the insulator while the positive gets threaded through the insulator. (Or the reverse?)

........To youtube!!!!!!!!

Si. :)

Yes, what I bolded there is what I meant.

Without trying to confuse or start a debate, I was speaking in terms of a basic DC circuit.

On a battery there is a positive and a negative. On the iStick the outer threads are the negative and the center pin is the positive.

So, the outer threads are touch the base which is touching the outer threaded shell of the coil head which one end of the twisted wire coil is touching = negative.

The iStick center pin touches the insulated center pin of the base which touches the insulated center pin of the coil head which is touching the other end of the twisted wire coil = positive

Yes there are other parts involved and a switch but I was just trying answer your question.

Just received mine today with the istick 50w, holy cow at 15-20watt I took a lung hit and it was hard as hell. I've never experienced lung hits before and I don't like it...how do I get mouth to lung? Which watt to use?

First time using istick and gs air. I have only used ego batteries, innokin vv v3 and clearomizers.

Felt like I couldn't breath with the istick and gs air, should I tighten the screw to make less air flow for mouth to lung?

Don't tighten it all the way, just screw it in 1 or a half turn at a time until you get the draw you like. I would suggest halfway in to start. Look thru the holes from the side. Start at half closed. If that is still too airy turn it in with 1/2 turn increments as desired.
Try 10w maybe. It depends on the liquid and your preference.

I'm a mouth to lung hitter and I generally vape the GS Air at 8.5 to 10 watts, depending on juice. But I actually like it with the air flow all the way open. But as Bike mentioned, just start adjusting it until you find the draw you like.

The positive or negative is on the power source/device itself, not the coil. That's all I meant. :vapor:
And the electrons in direct current always flow from negative to positive so you have to insulate the positive side from any grounding source unless you are usin a positive ground system (not used in battery mods). Ground not to be confused with the Earth ground which has a negative charge that causes lightening current to flow from the Earth to the clouds and not vice versa. Comprende ? :)
