So what are people using for tanks? I'm getting rid of my RX200 and getting something different. The main reason is the damn tanks. I have a limitless, I have a Uwell crown, I've had TFV4, TFV8, they all suck and they all leak. I'm also not a DL guy. My POFS Ileaf stick and nautilis aspire are more reliable. But looking for a new mod, and I like the size of this thing, the PICO, but want a tank with some bigger capacity and the reliability and flavor of the Aspire mini tank.
i have 4 pico's (and no Milos)
i run griffins, avocado and a sxk corolla on the pico's

i love the pico,,, and all 3 of the listed atty's. the griffin is adv.

1. Yes Pico and no Melo III
2. Not to me, to airy for MTL IMHO
3. Yes the coils have a lot to be desired. I rebuilt one and it is better, but still not a fan of the Melo III.

If I had it to do over, I would not have gotten the kit, just the Pico, which I like. YMMV & JMHO
I totally agree!

Check out the Kayfun v5 clone thread, if at 1 pip afc it's still too airy you can buy the authentic mtl kit at Originvape. It's getting a lot of love.

My form factor favorite is the Pico so I'm stockpiling it but nobody knows how durable they'll be so I'm also stockpiling VTwo minis. If I find one of them is not holding up may be I'll get multiples of a third mod if that's still possible. I'm completely out of step with the market on tanks. I don't use them, only rda's and in fact only 1 rda which is convenient because they cost $7 each so I can have a bunch of them cheap. A reason to have duplicate is if one becomes unrepairable may be it will contribute parts to keep another one running.

But now I have a new vaping interest, stealth. An Evic Baisc plus a Nipple rda top on a Stumpy rda deck is 3 1/8" tall. I can hide that completely in my average sized hand. Combine that with 0 VG liquid so there's no visible vapor and I'm finding I can use that in a lot of places where I wouldn't vape. Hang on to your mods with built in batteries. I believe most of them can have new batteries installed by most any electronic's repair shop. That's not worth doing right now but that might change.

Question. Eleaf Pico with Melo 3 tank
1. Is it worth it
2. MTL suitable? I do not DL hit.
3. Coils I read are junk. Any alternative coils, suggestions?

Thanks
1) the mod is nice
2) AFC not really made for MTL
3) Triton 1.8 Ohm coils are good for MTL (tested in Melo II)

Alternatively get a Kabuki or Vika with Nautilus coils

The 510 connector on the other hand looks sturdy enough with sufficient looking sealing. Not sure if the bottom part is pressfit, glued (*gasp*) or screwed to the top part with the threads though, but they *are* definitely a two part affair (different colours)..

when you put your pico back together,, was it press fit or did you have to use super glue/other adhesive?.

ps--thanks for the pics! :)

the bottom half is all fit with screws if they aren't stripped out so I assume the top half is similarly assembled. I was lucky enough to not have to disassemble the top half of the one my roomie dropped/broke. That one's bottom half I had to play with is permanently 'fixed' with epoxy.......

duh!!!!! i should have looked at it closer,, yip,, screws......now i feel stupid lol. ---thanks :lol: i still have that 1 pico that i pulled out the usb plug......my fault not pico's,, and yes i still have the original usb...and somewhere in my fav's i have a website with nearly every size/format of usb ports/plugs.

for now i use that pico just for mixing flavors.

so ,, i am sort of watching for deals to replace parts in my stash:
possibly 1 pico, 2 lazy nebox's,, and worried my topbox's are lazy too down the road.

at 1 point i was just going to buy 20 pico's and call it 'good' for my stash.,,,and i still might do that.

Still like them a lot, but the first one i got (silver) had this strange bug where Wattage would decrease by an average 0.1, every time i changed batteries or changed the tank. Also the body was cut out askew which made any tank i put on it look slanted. And the steel top and bottom started to discolour towards something like brown. I got a partial refund from the vendor however.

Then somewhere in june i got a few with a stainless steel finish, i have one of them in use and it looks like this now:

which forces me to put in in a sleeve/case:

Yes but the update didn't resolve it.

I think the VTC was hit the worst with JTech's rush to market, with that tenth drop on the Pico being pretty bad as well. But we loved the feature set so much... a lot of us just put up with it.
Not even sure they're always resolved, just fewer buyers complaining. :D

And that Brushed Silver is decidedly NOT Stainless... never was.

There are good reasons to dislike JT (or worse)... yet I ended up with a dozen or so, and use several every day (just put a Pico down actually... right next to a DNA. Go figure).

My wife has had her VTC Mini for a year and it's still working great, just a few chips on the bottom corner and she's very hard on mods. My Pico is only three months old and still looks brand new. I don't really feel like JT is any worse than any of the other Chinese brands. Particularly if you consider how many JT products are out there. My three iTaste VV3s lasted 3-6 months. From what I read here, I feel like the issues with early failures is pretty much spread across the field.

I never had the lowering watts problem. Makes me believe it only affected some Picos, not all.

ditto,,, any problem i had with the pico was user related............me.

it was acting up with the battery.. on a whim i took a paper towel and cleaned out the battery compartment and all of my problems went away......now that is part of my reg routine every week.

It's surprising how many problems can be solved just by cleaning. Not only e-cigs, but chargers also. I was having a problem with my Xtar V-2 today, getting a funny looking readout on the screen, so on a whim I cleaned all the contacts and coated them with Deoxit Gold, and presto, good as new.

It is only some, just like the couple of bad VTC issues were just a fraction of the units.
Made it hard to advise workarounds or solutions when the instances were rare, varied and hard to pin down.

I haven't had the Pico/Watts issue but I think it's confined to VW mode and I'm in TC 90% of the time.
Could be wrong... just haven't noticed it on mine.
