I never had the lowering watts problem. Makes me believe it only affected some Picos, not all.

I haven't had the Pico/Watts issue but I think it's confined to VW mode and I'm in TC 90% of the time.
Could be wrong... just haven't noticed it on mine.

I've only used my Picos in wattage mode and have never had the 'lowering watts' problem on either in use. One has been upgraded to the new firmware and the other hasn't yet, so I'm thinking it's not a wide-spread problem. I love my Picos! :hubba:

I have had the .1+ ohm changing resistance on my Pico when it was on Firmware 1.0. It was still there with 1.01 and finally went away with 1.02.

My VTC Mini was a total nightmare in TC, it had the anemic vape after it went to sleep problem. The fix that finally worked for it was an iPV D2.

Since I use a couple of dna's and the HOhm Wrecker G2 as my daily mods now. I really don't expect very much from a joyetech mod when it comes to TC. They function perfectly in VW, you shouldn't gauge how temperature control is supposed to work, based on a joyetech product IMHO.

Well that sux. I've had the Joyetech VTC/VTwo Minis, Wismec Presa75 & the eLeaf Pico, (same/similar boards), in operation for quite some time now & TC works just fine for me. I realize they're not on the same level as a DNA but for the price, I'm more than satisfied... :D

:2c: - just thought I'd chime in with a vote for the positive...

I'm with ya - I have most of the Joyetech/eLeaf/Wismec family and each and everyone of them work great in TC or Watts mode (for me)
I read those with many problems and mine, I just dial them in and vape away completely trouble free

as of late, my Innokin AETHON TC boards have been giving good service also...

ballpark avg - - SS / .4Ω-1.5Ω / 30w-380°

Thx everyone for your suggestions !!11

I will get a tighter draw drip tip for the Mello III and run 1.8 BVC coils
Ordered a Triton Mini
Ordered Fubuki clone and will run 1.8 coils also

I ordered aspire 1.8 clapton coils and 1.8 BVC coils to see which I will prefer

For you MTL vapers, Can u recommend a tighter draw drip tip that will look cool on top of these SS tanks, metal i suspect....

THX!!!
Good choices, I like the triton mini using 1.8 Nautilus coils, let us know how you like yours.

I got my new notch coils from fastTech, and it seems like my Pico has had more problems. Yesterday, it was randomly kicking out of ss tc mode to wattage mode. For now i got it to stay in tcss mode, but the temp settings are wacky. The notch coil is 0.24 ohms, and I have watts set to max at 24w. But I cant turn the temp past 200F or it will burn. The vape is pretty warm at 200F which shouldnt be right. I kinda feel like my Pico is playing Russian Roulette.

Might not be the Pico. I'm trying a notch coil in a Serpent Mini and it's a great vape in wattage mode. It's totally worthless in temp control mode on a Pico, a Cuboid, or a DNA200. Might be the notch coils just aren't TC friendly.

Don't know what notch coils you folks are using, but the Wismec notch coils vape great in TC mode in both my Merlin full size and mini tanks, on all my mods, including Pico's, VTC Mini's, but especially on my DNA200, and DNA75's, with the latest DNA updates with the improved SS coding.

Try the original Wismec notch coils before making such statements. You seldom know what you are getting from saving a few bucks on those cheap Chinese sites, and you won't have to wait 2-4 weeks!

Considering how long they last, a dollar a coil doesn't seem to be a bank breaker to me. I immediately pull out the crappy cotton job they come with and put in a proper rayon wick, I'm still using one of them for a few months now.

How did you get a notch coil into a Serpent Mini. This is a photo of a "original" Wismec 5mm OD SS coil, laid on top of my Serpent Mini. I would not attempt it as bending those nickel non-resistance leads would probably break them, and seems too large to begin with.

.15 ohms might be a challenge on a non DNA mod, but should work in TC mode on a DNA. I'd like to get some 3.5mm notch coils as the 5mm ones don't fit many of my smaller tanks.
I could probably get it to work on the DNA if I spent time on the TC profile. Using the stock SS316 profile that came pre-programmed into the mod it starts cutting power almost immediately. I'm not even sure what material those Tornado coils are made of, it says 316 somewhere but they don't look like most of the other 316 stuff I have.

For now I'm happy with them in wattage mode, but first time I fry my rayon I'll probably start playing around.

ETA: Just thought of something. When I installed them I remember thinking that the NR leads on those coils were awfully thin. Less than 32ga. I think. They might be introducing resistance into the circuit that's throwing the chip off. Next time I get those coils out I'll measure the diameter of the leads.
