A lot of vendors abide by the manufacturers requests and don't post items up to undercut the market. So in a search on the internet you won't find an item 25% off of what the manufacturer wants it to list at. Instead they list it competitively and then offer a discount code to make it even cheaper. Eliminates massive undercutting and ruining the value of merchandise.

You are 110% correct. I forgot about that. Best buy and their competitors do this. Essentially price fixing per manufacturer's request such as for TVs. Samsung in particular doesn't allow any company to sell their TVs lower than each other unless it's a closeout for an older model or something. That's why they can all offer the price match guarantee, cuz no one is allowed to sell it for cheaper.

It's more matte than gloss, but if I wanted to get nit picky, I'd call it satin. I also would call it flat rather than iridescent, yet it doesn't seem as flat as my white Surefire Castle. It's definitely not metallic. It reminds me of white formica if that makes sense where the Castle reminds me of white ceramic.
A satin, huh? I can work with that. Little disappointed they didn't give it the "metallic" look like the pink, I was hoping it was. Thanks for the report though!

My Pico is out for delivery as well. Excited, but disappointed I can't use it right away because I don't have a 18650 battery. Since I ordered my HG2s from CA, it will probably be here tomorrow or Friday.

Remember the name Rocky Mountain Vapor for future purchases. Since I've been buying from them, they've always had a 25% off coupon code. After coupon, I've never seen any place based in the US cheaper than them. VapeNW has a following because they were the first ones to have the iStick 20w on ebay at a competitive price before ebay starting shutting down vape options. They usually still do have competitive pricing, but the $5 shipping kills it sometimes.

I've never ordered anything from fasttech, but it definitely does have it's place. If you're looking for something cheap china made, they usually can't be beat. I have no idea how you can ship from China so cheaply though.

Stuff like small pieces for tanks, drip tips, accessories FT beats everyone.

Good to hear. What kind do you have in there? I have the TC version showing up today.

Like you, I don't find the tank has any less favor than my Atlantis or Triton II when using the same coils. I did wonder if I'd get more flavor considering a shorter chimney, but that's not the case.
I am using the .9 ohm kanthal one...I should get the ni version and see if it produces better then it did on the target :p

Pardon me for asking a question that I could probably find out by searching but....

Why are so many of you guys moving to titanium or whatever wire? Is it purely for the TC benefits that some of these mods can do? I don't plan on doing TC for a long time, if ever, because a lot of the entry level mods don't do it very well.

Are there any other benefits to using these more expensive materials that a low wattage, tootle puffer like me will notice?

Ti and Ni wire are strictly for TC vaping, using in non TC can be detrimental.
This is why many are moving to SS wire, as it CAN be used in BOTH TC and VW

This thread was created a year a go, it's LONG. But if you want to really learn about Titanium wire it's great. My last post in it today addresses some of your questions.

Titanium wire, vaping and safety

While you may be fine now using what works for you as a "tootle puffer", it's smart to gain knowledge, as maybe TC vaping is something you will eventually want to try, as well as getting more vapor. I started vaping with low wattage, tight draw devices, and as I learned I was not getting enough NIC, I began using more subohm tanks, not for clouds, but to get more NIC, at lower dosages, thus requiring more vapor. High NIC content is too harsh a taste for me, and I don't care for throat hit either. Going to 80VG 20pg, using 6-9 mg of NIC, is what I like, but you need to create more vapor this way, hence the subohm style tanks and more airflow.

Best part, as I am still a mouth to lung vapor, is I can take just the amount of vapor I want, and don't feel I'm sucking through a straw. The fun part of vaping is all the choices we have to play with. Just never say never to trying new things. My vaping style and choices since I stated long a go are almost completely opposite of where I started.

Odd. Wonder why they still say pre-order, as of yesterday that is. o_O

I just checked RMV again, and they are still showing the simple kit as available to order. No pre-order at RMV, but it's listed pre-order at vapenw.

My guess is it doesn't. I gave the thing about 20 minutes then chucked in the garbage. I lasted longer with the COV Defiant. Maybe you can help me with it and I'll throw another coil in. It may have just been a bad one? No matter how much I look, I can't find out what the range is on this coil so I'm not sure where to set it, but no matter how low or high I set wattage or temp, I couldn't get it to produce decent vapor or taste and most of the time tasted a little burnt. That's after priming it real good, considering what I've read about it, then letting it soak in the tank for a good 30 minutes. Regardless of settings, it constantly went into protection too, which the Triton Ni200 did not. The Triton worked great - just doesn't taste as good as the Clapton. This post is off topic but do you have any insight on settings for the cCell Ni200? I was thinking of trying the .9 Kanthal, but I think I heard a .5 cCell was released? I wonder if air flow is better in the .5 because one more thing about the Ni200 cCell, was a draw that was too tight - and I'm not a wide open draw guy.

Yes, the tank is inexpensive, I like the design. Yes, flavor is "subjective", but not as much if you do a proper comparison. All mine were done with TC coils, as that's why I buy TC mods in the first place. Perhaps the NON-TC coils give better flavor in power/watt mode, but that's not what I based my opinions on.

yepper, seems darn cheap for a pretty nice tank...

I haven't (yet) but as soon as I get around to wrapping a Ti coil (ECR)
can't imagine it won't be as good as all the rest...
the Melo III mini just seems to work very good and has plenty good flavor,
so I'm figuring TC will produce the same... ;)

LOL's zoiDman!!
That's kind of how I feel, amazing that such a little bitty mod can do as much as the iStick 100W TC :?:

Its just a Cool Mod.

But what is the Icing on the Cake is when you place your Order and then get it in the Same Week!

Per my convo with Rocky Mountain, they do not do pre-orders. If an item is available on line at their site, it is "ready to ship". I like that!

I believe they are releasing a SS cCell coil, hope to try that soon.

As far as settings....the best performance from the Ni I got was at around 25 watts at 450 (best being subjective...never liked the Ni cCell very much)...but the .9 has always been a good flavor producer...
