My original plan was to use my little tanks and use their add on rba's

I'm in the RTA camp too and also have quite a few tanks' RBA heads. Some nice... some just a pain.
Worst comes to worst... I'll even resurrect the Crown RBA head.

Before I get that desperate though, I'll probably have finally fired up my year old, never used v1 Sub Tank (with 2nd, spare RBA deck). :p

Who am I kidding... I'll go back to any of my dozen unused drippers before I rebuild that Crown RBA again. :)

I watched that the other day. Dam, he really packs the cotton into that RBA. I did put a few small layers in the bottom, which even their little manual tells you to do for a horizontal coil, as you still have to account for the two tiny bottom juice holes. I wasn't about to waste my time trying to make a vertical coil in that RBA. If one is going to spend the time and effort making coils, wicking, etc, why not move on to real RTA's? Granted, there are many times I simply had to grab a prebuilt coil and run, BUT if the money grabbers get their way, its possible we may never be able to buy prebuilt coils again, even writing that last statement makes me ill. The FDA has shown its true color, and it's GREEN.... $$$$$

Wow. I've seen several vids on building the Cubis but never saw anybody stuff it full of cotton that way. Have you tried that?

I'll try almost anything once. I think the idea, besides what I wrote two posts above about the bottom juice holes, is the design of most of their prebuilt coils and chimney design, is the airflow from the top, just hits the top of the coils anyway, unlike most other real RTA's, where you get airflow from below. So having the coil sit on top of a bed of cotton is basically how there coils work anyway. A few of the more restrictive prebuilts, the ones where you can see the middle insert, do route the air down and back up, but I don't like that tight a draw. I find I can only use the wider open .5 ohm coils, and they just get air dumped on them from the top.

I just got in a box of the Joyetech 1.0 CLR coils to use in building for my Ego One Mega. Was hoping they might work in the Cubis, too, but no go. Have you built any with those yet? If I remember correctly, that's another one where you are supposed to stuff cotton in the bottom below the coil.

Oh, and just for the record, the Cubis build I did earlier today just suddenly started working...lol. I have to be very careful how tightly I screw the atty on, but it I am actually vaping with it. So far, that's the story of my rebuilding life. Some times I get em just good enough where they'll just barely work...almost. Or not.

I have a couple of the CLRs for my E1Mega but haven't touched them in quite a while.

OK... I had to go find them to refresh my memory. They're pretty standard "trap the legs with the insulator and bottom pin" RBA heads. There's no reason to have cotton below a normally wicked horizontal build. Vertical though? Haven't tried, they're small and it's pretty tight in there.

As for using them in a Cubis... that design makes the pos connection with the flat bottom of the head and the bottom of the tank "cup". The height needs to be pretty precise.
Obviously some Aspire heads, including the Triton RBA, work. But I haven't checked the thread lists recently to keep up with what else does.

That's what it was! I knew I had ordered something that I expected to use in the Cubis. It was the Triton RTA kit. I got two of those, and right now one of them is in the Melo and working OK. I also ordered a v1 Triton tank, so that RTA will work on several of the tanks I have. I wonder if it might work in the Melo Drop I just got. I've read so much and watched so many videos the past couple weeks, it's all running together on me. Thanks for reminding me about the Triton/Cubis connection.

VapeNW has the Pico all Black in stock. Just an fyi. I know they've been less than popular on this thread, so maybe some other vendors will have them too now.

I'm anxious to hear if the feel is any different. It somehow looks less shiny, so maybe they gave it a paint coating with more grip. Maybe I'm dreaming though.

How's the KronNano on the Pico? Looks like a good combination.

And @Danousa, I think the Merlin fits. I think. Some guy over at "the other forum" preordered it for his Pico already IINM.

The Erlkonigin nano is fantastically small and light. On the Pico, it disappears in my shirt pocket.
But the price is constant refilling.
The regular Erlkonigin is plenty small and light (especially compared to a K4 - ha!) that it is my choice 98% of the time.

Thanks, just ordered FULL Black, and Stainless. I've never had an issue with VapeNW, shipping is a bit slower then the best ones.

I'd wish the +/- buttons were on the side and the USB port to the bottom. I don't mind my atties laying on the side while charging. In fact I prefer the cable connecting to the bottom as you don't have to maneuve you fingers around the cable when pass through vaping.

It always amazes me how very different peoples opinions of the same "feature" can be on the same product. The micro USB on the bottom of my iStick 30w used to drive me mad on a regular basis, so I was extremely happy when the pico's was on the side.

Not trying to knock your opinion, just people's preferences on products, vape related or not, gas been quite interesting to me lately.

I'm wondering if anyone knows where I can get replacement glass for the melo III mini that came with the pico kit? My hubs knocked my mod over in the garage lastnight and busted the glass. Of course I jinxed myself by putting a vape band around the tank just yesterday afternoon.

Seems they only have the 4 ml tubes right now, but I got mine here:

Thanks Mac, I googled and came up with a 5 pack for $7.99 on ebay.

5pcs Melo3 mini Replacement Glass Tube for istick pico 75W 2ml Atomizer

Also, Bellus and GobMini/GobMiniV2 glass fits the Melo3 mini as well, just so you know... and those can be really cheap over from FT (and some the other online retailers).

Oh and Firmware v1.01 for the Pico is out. Not sure how that flew over my radar, just stumbled upon it while checking the official Pico site to see if there were any updates. Sorry if it's old news for you folks.

Check it out (at the very bottom): iStick Pico Kit Firmware Upgradeable - iSmoka/Eleaf electronic cigarette

Also, this means that VTC Mini style custom firmwares are inbound soon woo!

Edit: Sure enough, NfirmwareEditor has just been updated to support the Pico. Time to get crackin'.

Crap, they went and added the damn "Start Mode".
At least the Pico copies the, IMO "Best in Breed, control schema of the RX... allowing you to scroll through the modes in both directions. "It's important." :p

And yeah... having a .bin to play with should make the nFirmware kiddies happy. :D
